Samantha Harris's Ball Gown on Dancing with the Stars

Recommended Posts

The gowns were beautiful. Poor Pricilla, with all that money you would think these people would have the best surgery money can buy but so many of them end up looking bad, look at Joan Van Ark,poor thing. I think Pricilla has had way to much or too severe surgery but also her make up was terrible, looked oily. Just my opinion and who am I to critize? a housewife in Winter Garden, Florida.:o

I realize that PP has gone a little far in her quest for a youthful look. She has always been a beautiful woman, I think if she would lighten her hair it would work wonders, her hair is way too dark for her age.

I also think that she was very nervous, you could see it in her eyes, I really felt for her.

IMHO, it must be hard working in Hollywood, every where these women turn are young beautiful starlets. They must feel awful pressure to keep that look up to get jobs. Sad.

At any rate, nothing will change the way I think of PP, she is still beautiful on the inside.

I think Monica Seles had the only honest true look. She is who she is, she laughs about it, and makes no apologies!!! Go Monica! We are each beautiful in our own way.

All very true. The pressure has got to be something. It is amazing that Marlee Matlin did so well and she can't hear the music, takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there under the best of circumstances.

I agree that the pressure to look young is intense for the 'mature' woman in Hollywood. I don't think there is anything wrong with plastic surgery, per se, for those who want it--it just needs to be done more realistically; so that people say, oh, doesn't she look good, rather than trying to look 30 when you are 62. You can look great at 62--which is my age!--but you just can't look 25 or 30 or 40, not really. It's obvious that all the money in the world can't buy plastic surgery that takes decades off for the simple reason that it can't be done and still look good.

I did think Priscilla did very well with her dance and seemed more genuine and likeable than I expected during the pre-dance segments. She does seem shy; it must be hard to live in the kind of limelight that goes with being Elvis's ex.

I actually like Samantha as a host (She does make some goofs, though) and thought Drew Lachey was the most lame host I have ever seen--as if he didn't really know what he was doing and couldn't quite make out the cue cards. He did improve somewhat for the Dance Showdown, or whatever it was called, with Carrie Ann and Bruno. He doesn't seem to have much personality or charisma, but that's just me.

I thought Kristi was fantastic, Marlee also. It will be a fun season, as always.

Can any of those dancer's outfits get any more brief? Sometimes, I think they come very close to soft porn clothing. I'm just waiting to see a butt crack or one of them fall out of the top. Yes, they have great bodies, but I really think they've gone way too far in making the clothing sexy. When are we going to see the men in "hammocks" or something just as brief? Where's the equality?

It seems to be a competition among the costume designers to see who can come up with the least in coverage and still get away with it.

I agree about the equality but not sure I want to see a "hammock".

Which reminds me...in college when I had figure drawing, the females would be completely nekkid, but the males always wore some little brief thingie. One male had moved his position but had not looked down. Well, his body moved but the thingie stayed in place so now his THINGIE was out of the thingie and he didn't know it.:D

A little thingie here and a little thingie there. I almost coughed up my tea on the computer screen. BTW, I must have gone to a more liberal school because the male models in my art class always had their thingies out in full view.

It was more fun watching him all smug thinking he was King Adonis and not knowing IT was OUT.:D

Yes, I'd say my school was a bit conservative, maybe something to do with being in the middle of Amish country even though none were enrolled.

I seem to like all of the dresses that Samantha wears, I woner who the designer is or where you could by "knock offs"

Regarding Priscilla, she was so pretty before her surgeries, can anything

be done to correct her appearance now?

I agree, a better hairdo and color would help.

She is a very kind hearted person

Sad, but true about Lisa Renna. It must be hard to talk. I'd like to have her figure though.

LOL! that reminds me of the eppie of Step by Step. The bimbo daughter had got collegen injections and it was overdone-she kept lisping badly! that was a funny show.

Good point! a good surgery would have people saying she looks great for 62-not that she looks 25-and really that is all we can hope for as we get older that we look great for our age-surgery cannot bring back our youth-and those that think it will are the ones that end up looking horrible.

I love that word---boobage.

Can you imagine going to an injection party? I don't like Tupperware parties and I'm sure not going to a party where some doofus is going to shoot me up with who-knows-what. I cannot believe this supposed doctor injected them with stuff used to repair cars. These women are terribly desperate.

Does anyone else think Monica Seles has had a lot of facial "work"? Whenever I saw her, I could not believe she's the same person who I watched play tennis. It looks like she had some major plastic surgery.

I was not surprised by who they kicked off. BTW, I thought Samantha's dress looked good tonight. Anyone know who designs her gowns?

I think maybe Monica has just grown up,I only remember her as a kid before this. I don't know who designs the gowns but I bet it's in the credits,if they don'y go so FAST as you can't read them.

I know they have a team that designs and sews all the dancers' gowns and the men's outfits. I cannot recall, unfortunately, if that same team designs Samnatha's gowns. What amazes me is the variety of styles she wears. It is always fun to see what color and cut she'll be wearing next.

Wasn't Monica Seles the one who was stabbed in the back by that "Crazy" in Germany? What a horrible thing for a young girl to go through. I was kind of sad to see her go (though not unexpected) especially after she said she never experienced anything like that or had ever gotten in touch with her inner "Girly Side"....what a shame. I thought she did OK forsomeone over 6ft tall, your center of gravity is so much higher that it's harder to do those dances.
