Favorite Picture of All Time

Recommended Posts

I know! I know!

It was taken at Nachi Cocom. We've been there twice and loved it both times.

And NoobCroozer, oddly enough I left my fancy D-SLR on board that day. That shot was taken with my wife's humble Powershot S500 point-and-shoot. Just goes to show that it's not the gear that makes a great picture.

Just as an aside, I couldn't agree w/ you more. I was just at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. They are opening a new exhibit about the oceans of the world. The only part of that open at this time was a room of photographs called "The world's best marine photographs". The photographs all listed what gear they used for their photos. I was pleased to see one photographer used a Nikon D70 (a nice camera, but not a "professional" camera), another used a Pentax, "lesser" grades of Canon, etc. All voted the "Word's Best" by the Smithsonian.

After seeing that, I no longer think I "need" a pro camera. A Nikon D80 (no more 70s anymore) will be just fine for me someday!

LOVE all the pics and look forward to more submissions!

Some really amazing shots on here!

While these aren't Carnival, they've always been some of my favorties...

Taken in the afternoon while heading back on the tender.

My mom on the Century. She didn't mean to mimick the Carnival funnel on the Paradise, which was docked behind us.

Definitely looks like Costa Maya to me. Before the hurricane of course.

That's exactly it, I can't wait to go back we loved it there.

I also love this shot as well, it wasn't taken in Costa Maya, it was taken on the open ocean at the end of the 1st day of our very 1st cruise in June of 06 on Elation. Nothing like the open water with the only traffic being a passing ship a little further out. The shot of the sun isn't that great, but I love the rest of the picture.

And these three aren't necessarily the best pictures, but it was certainly a fantastic excursion that I will always remember...

A very industrious porcupine...

A hilarious pic of my sister bottle feeding an orphaned moose...

And my niece getting to pet the cutest creature I've ever seen - a flying squirrel...

In Alaska (Juneau) near the Mendenhall Glacier...

I spent 3200.00 on a Print of a picture called Alpine Reflections taken at Denali National Park, Alaska from Thomas D. Mangelsen's Images of Nature collection. Your picture is very beautiful, looks like his work.
