That is DEFINITELY a different dock than when we were there.

I noted on the photo (that I commented on) that there was a set of steps going down to the water....do they actually allow people to go into the water on the other side of the dock from the ship?!!??

I don't think so....didn't see anyone in the water, but it may be for access for boats like this one. Top right hand corner of the picture looks like it may be stairs going down.

Sorry, I can't help myself, but I have 5 I'd like to share. We're going on our first adult cruise in 11 days!!! But here are some of my favorite pics from our trip to Key West for a wedding. Although not on a cruise, a cruise port!

This is at Fort Zachary State Park

This guy's bird was named "Killer" and the motorcycle's name was "Baby". Check out his dirty feet too.

Your pic is beautiful. We are thinking of taking this tour- but we will be docking in Cozumel and have heard that the trip is long.

Where did you dock when you took this tour? If from Cozumel, what did you think of the commute?

thanks

When we went to Tulum we actually docked at Calica. From there it was about a 45 minute bus ride (very nice bus). I would say that it would be well worth it from Cozumel. The place was AWESOME. I would be happy to email you some more pics. Just drop me a line using my name at yahoo.

Sorry to laugh but this one is HILARIOUS! Was he really sleeping???

Well that is me. No I was not asleep there.

BUT as soon as we got back on board I did go to sleep and slept through dinner (late seating) and finally got up about 10 and hit the Lido for supper. Those Panchos cups are stout!

I can never see any of the pictures with the x in the box! You guys are great photographers!

If you will right click on the x and go to Properties ~ copy the address. Go to another browser screen and paste the address in - you will see the picture. You can then go back to CC and r click on the x again and say show picture.

Hope this makes sense.

There is a story that goes with this picture. At 41 my sister had a major stroke. To save her life they had to do surgery and as a result, take out about 1/3 of her skull....it stayed safe in her belly for over a year (because she had a staph infection post op they did not want to put it back too soon) while she recovered. At her most critical moment in the ICU, I held her hand and told her if she would only open her eyes I would take her anywhere in the world she wanted to go....her eyes flew open (the first of many miracles!), and as soon as she came off the ventilator she requested we go on a cruise. So in late April this year, almost 2 years after her stroke, we boarded the Legend with our mom, our other sister, two nieces and my sisters’ best friend. My sister wanted to swim with the dolphins more than anything else, so I scheduled the Royal Swim. Although VERY skeptical when we arrived, given my sisters physical limitations, the staff agreed to "let her try”. This picture was taken during the foot push.....what you can't see are the six women standing in the water watching her, laughing and crying at the same time. Since this day, my sister has continued to recover, expanding her horizons daily; because this moment in time renewed her confidence and made her realize that ANYTHING is possible!

The picture and story behind it brought me to tears. Thank you for such a wonderful photo and explanation.

Was this done with any special effects? It is absolutely gorgeous how only one ship is in color. Even the water appears to be black and white. AWESOME PICTURE!!!!

Thank you...No special effects..I just pointed my camera and shot the photo..Gray weather can make a very dramatic backdrop..I used and Canon Rebel XT..Sitka is a lovely place to just sit and soak in the atmosphere..

This is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken with a "throw away" underwater camera so it's not necessarily a really good sharp picture. It's a picture of my Mom with the sting rays. She was so afraid at first and initially wasn't going to get out of the boat. Especially after the Steve Irwin incident. Once she did though she had a blast and later told me that was one of the funnest days of her life. :)

This is another favorite, It was taken on the same day as the one above. We were at Rum Pointe beach in Grand Cayman. I was taking pictures of the beach because it is just so beautiful. Of course my neice thinks it's all about her and if you look at the beach you will see her "posing" for the picture... I didn't even see her until after I had taken the picture. LOL

Another one of the beautiful beach (minus my neice) LOL

Suzyjack,

From Cozumel it is about a 30-45 minute ferry ride to Playa del Carmen. It can be a rough crossing at times. I was a little seasick towards the end. Then you board a bus for about another hour to get to the ruins. I would recommend going to see Tulum once but you don't have time for anything else that day. Hope that helps.
