Cruiser Forever Posted December 30, 2008 Author #402 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Go&see, your pictures are beautiful! The pictures taken on Wolfe Island are so tranquil. It must be a wonderful place to relax. I agree with judynorth, all you photos are beautiful Go&see. thanks for adding them to the thread and feel free to share more. :D
Scrappytraveller Posted December 30, 2008 #403 Share Posted December 30, 2008 There's so much beauty in that area but on a bright sunny day, the drive from Jasper to Banff (with many, many pitstops along the way) is unforgettable. Make sure to have lots of free memory! I did a tour of the area in September 2005. The weather was a mixed bag, but we were lucky enough to get a fantastic day for that drive. It's a beautiful time of year to go, but maybe not the safest bet weather wise.
dot73 Posted December 30, 2008 #404 Share Posted December 30, 2008 I did my tour in early September which was great because the weather was still good and with kids back in school, it wasn't as crowded. You can do a great drive/fly vacation by flying into Calgary, driving through Banff to Jasper with all the great stops in between, which include Peyto Lake, the Columbia Icefields, etc. From Jasper you can explore Lake Louise, Lake Moraine, etc. The beauty of the Rockies just takes your breath away. You can then make your way back to Calgary or if you don't want to retrace your steps, you can drive to Edmonton and fly out of there. It's a trip you won't regret. Scrappytraveller Posted December 30, 2008 #406 Share Posted December 30, 2008 It's hard to pick just one, but I really like this one, taken in Venice about 3 1/2 years ago with my first Canon Rebel: I have about a dozen of my favorite photos from my most recent trip, to Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia-i-H, here: http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x239/JStravelshots/Adriatic%20Tour%202007/Adriatic%20Photos/ It's a little intimidating posting photos here! ;):D

Jamie Jaime, I love your list! I am actually going to use your list and keep it as a checklist for our travels. The only thing I would add to your list is Victoria, BC Canada. This is one of the most beautiful cities in North America and if you love flowers and gardens, Butchart Gardens is a can't miss. Happy New Year! go&see Posted January 2, 2009 #415 Share Posted January 2, 2009 I finally got a photobucket account so I think (fingers crossed) I can post a couple of bigger shots now... These are also from my trip to NZ - I spent 4 months there. I don't know if you'd call it backpacking, since I had a car, but that's the idea. Needless to say I have A LOT of photos from there. Texasjam, if you were looking to add anything outside of North America to your list, New Zealand would be my number one recommendation by a landslide. Me on a lovely, lonely looking dock on the south Island The waves breaking on a rocky beach, near Kaikoura, I think A beautiful tree lined road - I love that there's even moss growing on the road because a) there's not too much traffic & b) that area was so wet/humid BTW, I took this one while driving - & on the left side of the road! ACK!

Rare pierces Posted January 4, 2009 #425 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Could you please tell me what software (& how much patience) you used to stitch that together? It's absolutely seamless, amazing!! Sorry about the delay...I haven't been watching the threads as close as usual. The panorama was done with Autostitch. It's a free utility and it will usually perform seamless stitches with little or no touch-up required. I had to spot out some of the close weeds that moved in the wind, but I had less than 15 minutes in the whole panorama. of course, I had a nice, regular subject with little distortion to start with.
