Ships Rockin LIVE on Golden Princess R/T Hawaii

Hi Jan - Our Waikiki time usually consists of a walk through International Market Place, across the street through the Moana Hotel, and then a walk down the beach to "our" little beach on that tiny piece of sand that separates the Sheraton Waikiki from the Halekulani. By that time, I'm pooped and ready for that lazing in the sun in the shade of the only tree I know of ON Waikiki Beach!! Love it!

Hi Robin,

Sounds like you are having some fun. It sure was nice that Karen's

brother-in-law took you around. We had rented a car and Don did the

driving. They had been there several times. There were some places

I would have loved to stop and check out but didn't have evough time.

Did you go to the macadamian nut factory? We didn't get to see any-

processing there. Did you get to see the Volanco erupt? We could

only see some of it from a distance. They said it wasn't doing much?

I am so glad you are getting to see much more this time. Did you try

the poi? I know most of the time they like spam is one of their favorite

food. Hope all of you and the Newweds are have great fun. See you

when you get home.

Aloha,

Karen H.;):p

They are both great locations. I will check out and ask a steward what is behind the long wall. It appears to be a small linen closet to the right if you are facing the door on 537.

;)

Robin, Thanks for checking out inside 537. We like insides because they are dark. I'd really appreciate it if you find out what behind the long wall & if the only way in there is the door you said was right next to the cabin.

Can't wait to hear about Hilo.

Robin, here is a quick hint on posting live aboard.

Write it off line in Word or what ever word processor you like and then export it to Notepad, then go online and copy and paste it to post it. Saves a bunch of online time.

Glad you are enjoying your cruise, and Congrats

We enjoyed the Golden back in October and you are making us want to go back!

We are just about to pull out of Kauai... so before I lose the connection!!

537..behind the wall is the Room Service dept. I can hear dishes from the hall way but I don't know about any other noise if you are in the cabin. I asked a couple of the crew that came out.

We had a great day in Kauai today. We had absolutly clear not clouds day. Bright sun shine and about 79 degrees.:D

We are pulling out now and we are seeing whales at the mouth of the harbor.

I had better jump off as I am using my own air card and don't want to get the white screen.

I will write more later!!

Having fun wishing you were here!!!!

Maui tomorrow!

Hi Robin,

WOW are you lucky. We were hoping to see whales and I guess we

missed the right time of the year. Weather here is going to be a short storm and by Sunday it will be raining a lot. The sun is out for today

and it is a nice day but it is beginning to get windy. Your weather

looks to be nice. Hang on to it for the next three to four days. Tell

Karen I said HI and enjoy the sun.

Hope you are having a great day in Maui. It looks beautiful on the bridge cam!

Looking forward to hearing from you...especially about Kauai, my favorite island.

Have you thought about doing the Chef's Table?

Please say hi to Karen, Terry & Clarence for us. We hope they are having a wonderful time. :)

Hugs,

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to jump on for a quick minute with info about the tours we did on Maui and Kauai, since some people sailing on the 2/18 cruise might need it (I plan to write more when we get back).

On Kauai, we did the Smith's Tropical Gardens, Luau and Romantic Ceremony, and it was WONDERFUL! It is so pretty there! When we first got there, we had a tram ride around the whole place, then had 45 minutes or so to wander around and take pictures before they had the ceremony to get the pig out of the pit. The food at the luau was excellent, especially the pork, and included were mai tais, Kona Beer, Bud lite, red and white wines, sodas and Hawaiian Punch. There was a show during the luau, with "Uncle Larry" Rivera, his band, daughter, and 2 of his granddaughters danced, and 3 other hula dancers. During the show, they did the romantic ceremony, which was very nice. One of the Smith family read a nice renewal of vows, and they called the names of the people that signed up ahead of time, and other family members brought fresh orchid leis to each couple. It was very nice for the people that participated, but wasn't such a big part that everyone else felt excluded.

On Maui, we did the afternoon Molokini Snorkel and SNUBA, and that was great! The weather was picture perfect, and very calm. The crew said it can be windy and rough (which I had heard on other threads), but ours was not. It is up to Mother Nature, and she smiled on us! Clarence highly recommends the SNUBA! You can go on the tour as a snorkeler, but if you decide to SNUBA, you can add that on once you are onboard. They had wetsuits, which were included in the cost of the SNUBA tour, and the snorkelers could rent them. I snorkeled without one, and the water was fine. A little cool at first, but got used to it right away. You could also rent underwater digital cameras, and they will put all the pics on a CD for you before you get back to shore. This costs $30. They also take pics of you underwater with their camera, and they can add those pics to your CD for $20. They have a freshwater shower you can use to get the saltwater off, and had Coors, Coors light, mai tais, rum and cokes, sodas, chips, salsa, fresh oranges, pineapple slices and pretzels to snack on after everyone came out of the water. We saw SO many whales! The crew was very nice, and really helped the people that were not experienced.

We would recommend both tours!

Someone has been asking what ship is doing the Hawaii run in 2010. We are booked on the Golden for March 14th.

I don't know if there will be a different ship for the sailings that start in the Fall. That's not available yet.

Hi Terry!

So good to hear from the beautiful bride! Your wedding looked very special and we were grateful to the satellite gods that we could watch it (although it looked a little dark through the webcam). :(

Thanks for the detail on the Romantic Ceremony on beautiful Kauai....it sounds like it was a wonderful experience...hope we can all go back there some day. Wouldn't that be great? We'd love to try the SNUBA on Maui too. All these things are worth another trip to Hawaii. ;)

Can't wait to see all your pictures!

Have a wonderful time as you sail back to us!

Hugs to you and Clarence!

FYI, for anyone returning tomorrow or Sunday to the West Coast, it's going to be rocky. :( We've got a couple of big weather fronts coming through with lots of rain and cold temps over the next few days.

You are correct Pam, we are now "Rolling" our way back.

Just a quickie until later ......

We enjoyed perfection in the Islands. The weather was PERFECT! The seas were calm and yes it is Whale watching season. We saw tons of whales doing all kinds of slapping and breaching!! Whoohoo!

As soon as we set sail out of the sanctuary of Maui into open sea we have had gale force winds of about 50 miles and hour. Again no pools,,,, they are drained for safty sake. The wind is currently easterly and Captain said the tanks are filled and the wings are out but to expect "Rolling" and it is to increase as we enter the area of high pressure headed for California. The skis are on and off sunny and cloudy and we are bouncing our way to Ensenada. Most of us have our sea legs and it is not a bother. The Casino is jam packed on this Friday the 13th and so are the Laundry rooms:p.

I enjoyed a good dose of sunshine on my balcony today. Unfortunatly I have not had the oppertunity to use any of the pools as they have been emptied both coming and going.

I have much to say in the next few days before getting back. But it is dinner time and I must dress......

Oh, by the way our formal night was changed to tomorrow for the Captains party and Valentines day as I thought it would be.

I will print some patters when I get back but make mental note that times and places very a lot from cruise to cruise!!!! It is NOT a set deal.

OH OH it has been at least 2 hours since I last ate and my stomach is growling............... talk to you soon!

I was the one who asked about how to waitlist C753 or 752 on another thread.

We are leaving on the Golden on Tuesday in 753 (booked a LONG time ago).

I'll try to post a "Live From" thread.

Hi Robin and Karen,

By looking at the web cam the seas don't look too bad. The weather is suppoosed to start a hard rain tomorrow night and it may change to Monday and continueing thru to Wed. Have your umbrellas ready when you return to port. How is the buffet court? Have you gone to the Red Hatters Tea? Have you had some of the great dessert? Well see you

when you get home. Great threads.:D
