Does anyone have suggestions? St. John is a nice port. You could do the reversing waters tour. The waters don't reverse as well in the afternoon though. I also took the Jewish Heritage Tour. Found out things about the town of St. Johns and it's development. Halifax, my home away from home. I've been here more than any other place. The Titantic Tour is informative, Peggy's Cove is another good tour. Just walking around Halifax is nice too. They made some improvement to the Riverwalk. Do you like Casinos? Go to the Hotel and Casino of Nova Scotia. Just down Water Street. There are a lot of nice resturants and coffee shops on Water Street.
Suni99 Posted February 13, 2009 #28 Share Posted February 13, 2009 I read it on another thread--I'll have to try and find it. Did you happen to find anything? Also what is a "super club"?

mousey Posted February 14, 2009 #41 Share Posted February 14, 2009 We're cruising on the Triumph spring break on the April 12th cruise. Can't wait!:D I'd like to know if there are any secret places on the ship that most people don't know about. You know, little hideaway, quiet places, to read and sunbathe away from the maddening crowd. Are there any wine tasting events? Anyone do any really fun excursions in San Juan, St. Thomas and/or St. Martin?? I guess that's enough questions for now! LOL:D Thanks for all the infor from everyone so far!:)

hazeleyes Posted February 17, 2009 #43 Share Posted February 17, 2009 Great ship, I've done two cruises on the Triumph and will do another this fall. I see it now has a supper club. Something it didn't have on my last two cruises. Which is your port-of-call St. John or Halifax? If it is Halifax they have redone the waterfront area. Have you been to Halifax before? They also have a Tim Horton coffee shop in the ferry terminal building. They have some pretty good shore excursions as well. Enjoy yourself. Ive never been to either of those ports. And I like knowing ahead of time whats the best things to do at each port i visit. Were going to St. John. What i've read is that its walkable. And the reverse falls are something to see. hazeleyes Posted February 17, 2009 #44 Share Posted February 17, 2009 I do agree that NCL Nickles and Dimes, for us the rooms are going to seem huge for what we had on NCL. We stick with NCL we like the prices and the ships...the ports of calls. Plus since we been with them so much we get a lot of perks which really keeps us coming back..We're not going to stop with them since we already built up our status..might as well take advantage of all we get. I think I like NCLs past guest program better than Carnivals. To be honest i think NCL's past guest program is the best i seen. I was looking at the carnival one and it doesnt seem to offer alot of perks. If I like the triumph when we sail it ill keep doing small cruises on carnival till we build up our numbers, i'd like to build up RCCL's also but the cruises are so expensive, that we only cruise them when we really find a good deal. Ok I'll be that somebody!! I was on the triumph's sister ship the victory and the layouts look exactly the same (different names to bars, dining etc.) If you look at a set of deck plans, you'll see the decks at the front of the ship but they aren't labelled as such. Decks 1-5 are staff only decks. The decks pax can use are decks 6,7,and 10. I'm going to use my fav. secret deck as an example. If you look between rooms 1004 and 1006 on deck 10 (panorama) you'll see a funny looking triangle. Next to the triangle there's a hallway to no where. Well atthe end of that hallway (5-6ft long) there's a set of doors. It'll have a sign on it about keeping door shut due to high winds. You CAN open it. I reccomend holding it tightly because it could fly out of your hands. If you are sailing the winds will be high at first. If I recall correctly there's 2 sets back to back and they go out to the decks. Deck 10 was my favorite because the deck extends off the side of the ship. The deck is the "roof" of the bridge. It was great for taking pics. On decks 6 and 7 there are stairs outside to go between them if you wish. There's only 1-2 wooden benches out there but you won't find hardly anyone out there. I had pics of the decks on my pc until it crashed or I'd post some for you. Hope this helps. enjoy your cruise
