Chairsin Posted August 6, 2010 #428 Share Posted August 6, 2010 Ariawoman, When I refer someone who is going on their first Seabourn cruise there is a small coupon that I have to fill out with the other person's booking number, date of their cruise, name and address and the mail it to Seabourn. When I refered a friend recently we wanted to see if I could access her guest registration form. Sure enough, all I had to do was enter that info under already booked and I had access to all of the info on the form( including her passport number). Luckily for her we are good firends and I am not going to do anything with that info. I just think people should know about this before they accept a referal coupons from someone they do not know. I sent the coupon to a CCer on this list, they filled out all the information, they sent it to Seabourn. If it's always handled in this manner, there is never any scare regarding your personal information. I just received my first 400 voucher for a CCer that is sailing as we speak (he was my first yay Phil!) and I never ever had Phil's booking number. Yes, I had AN address for him as I had to send him the voucher, but for all I know, it was not his home address. Not that I cared or was going to try to look up any info. Anyway my point is, without the booking number, you can't get anywhere, so don't give out your booking number to someone trying to refer you. I've sent all the referrals out 100% blank, and well, so far, 1 has come through fine. The others aren't set to sail just yet.
ariawoman Posted August 8, 2010 #430 Share Posted August 8, 2010 How can Ariawoman receive so many referral coupons? I see she has only been on one Seabourn cruise. I have been on Seabourn cruises for over ten years and only recently received two coupons and that was after making several calls to the Seabourn office in Miami. I got 2 vouchers for my previous sailing in Oct 2009. My boyfriend got 2 as well, which I also gave on this board, in order to help people out. I contacted Seabourn and asked for more, and received 2 in the mail this week. You get what you ask for, Seabourn has nothing to lose but new passengers if they don't send more out to you. There's little reason for them to ignore your requests.

My wife and I are first timers and have booked and paid for a cruise of Odyssey departing Venice on 11th Sept. Can you share a coupon please? Rare A Tucson Guy Posted August 10, 2010 #432 Share Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) We are on the Odyssey 10-30-10 and paid in full. I assume it is too late to take advantage of the referral coupon. If I can still use the coupon, can somebody out there help me? My email is alfredlapeter AT aol.com. (alfredlapeter@aol.com) I forgot, this is our first Seabourn cruise. katiestan1 Posted August 10, 2010 #433 Share Posted August 10, 2010 I was able to use the referral coupon after I made final payment. I called Seabourn and they said they received the coupon I sent in and they will apply the credit about a week before we sail. Also, the person who referred me filled it out ( with my booking number!) and sent it to me and I then sent it on to Seabourn. So far, so good. The conflicting info regarding the referral coupons is a little frustrating but each of the two (or three) times I called Seabourn, there wasn't an issue with using it after final payment. So, hopefully I will be receiving my credit in October, before we sail. Jen
Roxburgh Posted August 11, 2010 #434 Share Posted August 11, 2010 Apologies if this question has already been asked/answered but I couldn't find it. Can you get both Carnival shareholder credit ($250 for 14 days or more) and referral credit ($400) on the same cruise (i.e. $650)?
topkatz Posted August 12, 2010 #435 Share Posted August 12, 2010 Hi all - I have two referral coupons available. Because we have a cruise scheduled in December, priority will be given to those leaving on their first time cruise between now and then. :D I DON'T need/want your booking number (for reasons already mentioned). Just your eMail address and we can make the US mail arrangements. Regards, Paul

Will be sending yours tomorrow to Seabourn :-) I sent you a copy of the scans of the form, so that you can followup with Seabourn in a week or so. Light a fire under them, I hear sometimes they take their time :-) Have a great trip, and I'm so happy I could help! ~Jennifer
Jim Avery Posted August 15, 2010 #439 Share Posted August 15, 2010 Just received final documents. No mention of the coupon credit. Is it usually in the documents or maybe in the cabin on arrival? thanks, Jim.

The number on the back of the referrals says to call 305-463-3000. Good Luck!
Chairsin Posted August 16, 2010 #441 Share Posted August 16, 2010 Seabourn does not notify you in your final docs of a shipboard credit -- rather when you board the ship and are shown to your suite there will be a card on the coffee table that informs you of your credit. If it is not there go see the purser and they will contact Blue Lagoon to straighten things out. We have only had a problem once. Don't worry and have a fun trip! If I still have vouchers at that time, I'll certainly contact you, however posters on here want to make sure the transaction will occur so they tend to take dates that are near term (like right now, say through december 2010). I'm sure there will be some up for grabs in the future just keep checkin this sticky!

Zimmy Posted August 17, 2010 #445 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I phoned Blue Lagoon today to request information regarding the combination of the referral coupon and travel agent consortium benefits, particularly Virtuoso and Signature. I was told by the club desk that the referral coupon credit is NOT combinable with either Virtuoso or Signature benefits. I know that I have read on this board that people have previously combined them, so now I don't know what to think. Have the rules changed? Does it depend upon who you speak to at Seabourn? writer100 Posted August 18, 2010 #447 Share Posted August 18, 2010 Chairsin, that's true. But if the amount credited your account is incorrect, you will have a problem. The purser's office does not like to dispute what the Big Computer at Blue Lagoon Drive has said. Yes, they will contact head office. But our experience was that there is little incentive for them to dispute what head office claims to be "the facts." Even if wrong. In fact, the methodology of the referral credit is somewhat mysterious. At what point in the dynamic does the credit appear on your account? Is it upon final payment by the recipient? Or, does it await your final payment--that is, by the coupon generator? I have been in touch with a first time cruiser SB cruiser in the UK who says SB essentially gave her the runaround about crediting her coupon. Fortunately, she made copies of the coupon. When I asked Miami about it, they had no record of the referral coupon. Nor did they have a record of the UK booking number--this more than a month after the UK cruiser had completed her final payment! Maybe this is just a case of lots of mail, snail and electronic, and not enough people to deal with it. Maybe. But it makes for insecurity and mistrust. Time to start checking with SB to make sure the referral coupon we gave to a 1st time SB cruiser has been credited to our account to be used on our 3/11 cruise. Always a good idea to start early in case of a delay in posting. Or heaven forbid a clerical error or even worse a computer error! Edited August 19, 2010 by "Wandering Wino's"
ravenclaw Posted August 19, 2010 #449 Share Posted August 19, 2010 I have a referral coupon available, giving you a $400 room credit, if you 1). Are first time Seabourn cruisers in the US 2). Have not yet made final payment, and are doing a cruise sometime before the end of 2010, and 3). Email me at oex7@aol.com, put "Seabourn" in the message line! Have a great time! I know you will! Thanks for the offer on this thread and we might take you up on it, if still available. Here's a question to forum members, (couldn't find answer on previous posts): First time cruisers on Seabourn and about to make final payment on 8/24 for Sojourn cruises. However, as a family tragedy has held us back to booking in advance for the 21 day Sojourn T/A crossing on 10/25 (Rome-FLL), most space is now waitlisted BUT advised we can still book it as two segments (Rome-Lis and Lis-FLL), but requires a change of cabin between segments (OK, with us).In addition after arrival in FLL, will rejoin Sojourn 4 days later for FLL-FLL Carib cruise. So in essence 3 back to back cruises to be booked and paid in full next week...Is it possible/acceptable to get 3 or 2 referral coupons or only entitled to 1? Thanks much, Nick E-mail: stroghilas@yahoo.com
