  1. Yes, but I’ve also seen several people state they are still getting double points as long as the changes are made ahead of sailing. Who knows for sure
  2. I didn’t want to get into details but final payment was weeks ago. They aren’t getting back together…. I’m thinking of calling and canceling her and leaving everything else as is. He should get double points for that cabin as a single on the booking. once onboard we can just get another key made and have the daughter move into his cabin vs trying to mess with the reservations
  3. Repricing is what I’m trying to avoid. When I booked we paid $2,700 for the 3 person cabin. Right now a cabin for 2 is over $4,400…. If I have to reprice I will just no show and get keys made.
  4. We have an issue due to a breakup that happened 2 days after final payment 🙄. We booked 2 cabins. First cabin is a 3 person with two adults and a 13 year old and second cabin is a 2 person with a 22 year old adult child with his girlfriend (now ex girlfriend). I’m thinking of calling and removing the girlfriend from that booking and seeing if the will move the 13 year old to the other room. This would give us privacy for the first time in years!! Just not sure if they will do it without any repricing to the first 3 person cabin. I don’t even care if they move us to a cabin for 2 people. Seems like this would help RCCL as all balconies for 3 or more are sold out but there are many for 2 people for this sailing. I know we can just do a no show and get keys made as a last resort. Thoughts?
  5. I started the other thread on this. It’s crazy what all happened on this sailing but seems like a lot of people think we are making it up. I felt sorry for the crew and staff all week. Especially the bartenders in Playmakers. One guy was almost in tears but said if he complained he wouldn’t get promoted or could lose his contract. I ended up yelling at the kids myself and they went elsewhere that time.
  6. It’s not one or two dysfunctional families anymore. It’s becoming way too common. I played in the casino again last night till about 1:30 in the morning. I went to get some pizza after and there were about 10 security officers on deck 4 because another group of kids got into it and trashed the area. It wasn’t a once or twice thing this week….
  7. I think it’s been our worst cruise in 20 years. We are strongly considering canceling our Icon sailing. Spoke with several bartenders and apparently there were issues the week before.
  8. We have heard it multiple times this week. I have no idea if that amount is true or not. Seems high to me but there’s been a lot of talk about it. Those glass panels in the elevators are probably not cheap. I’ve see 2 of them broken personally.
  9. What I meant with “teenagers will be teenagers” is you will have groups of teens running around the ship taking over pools, hot tubs, etc. if you cruise during spring break it’s to be expected to see kids everywhere hopefully having harmless fun. What isn’t expected is damaging the ship or abusing people!
  10. Well she mentioned how this post is hilarious. We have been cruising Royal a few times a year for over 20 years and have never encountered the issues like this cruise with rude people and teens.
  11. They know exactly who did it. There are cameras everywhere on this ship. This is why some family’s had to get off and others have to stay in their room till Fort Lauderdale
  12. That is my thought. There just isn’t a nice way of saying it…. You can just tell there’s more of a shift of the type of people now sailing on Royal. I wish they would do away with the promos and increase prices well above Carnival. This is the first cruise in years we aren’t booking another cruise onboard. We have Allure and Icon already booked for later this year and next. If we have the experience of this cruise we will be looking a Celebrity as a step up.
  13. Currently on Odyssey. We have sailed Royal for 20 years and have done spring break cruises many times over the years with no issues. Yes, lots of kids but no problems other than crowds. The overall ship, shows, food, and service have been excellent! BUT the clientele is changing. Lots of rude families and large groups of teenagers causing issues every day. Apparently several families were forced to disembark in Aruba (one with $12,000 damage bill) and others have been locked in their cabins. We have seen people pushing scooters and older passengers out of the way, verbally abusing the staff. Several elevators have had the glass shattered and are not working now, security cameras have been broken around the ship, and apparently the teen area has damage. I left the casino at 2 am and there are still groups of teens ignoring the security officers tonight and running around the ship. It’s sad that parents let their kids behave this way. Royal should adopt a zero tolerance policy and immediately kick the entire family off the ship if their kids are causing issues like this. I understand teenagers will be teenagers (we have a 13 year old) but causing property damage and assaulting older guests is not right.
  14. We booked 6624. Saved well over $1,000 compared to regular balconies and no issues with be obstructed. Surprised Royal has updated it non obstructed. They built this ship different. The others have a full sized lifeboat in front of these rooms with the smaller life boat toward the back of the ship.
  15. I’ve turned a few people in over the years. I remember a heated argument between one couple and security below our cabin. Not sure what eventually happened but we didn’t hear/see them on their balcony the rest of the cruise.
  16. You can’t just show up day of cruise due to regulations in place now.
  17. We booked 6624 which is considered obstructed but it’s not. Saved over $2,500 for the 3 of us. Highly recommend looking at it or the one on the other side of the ship to save some money.
  18. It’s become stupid! I picked one up last week for $64.99. Anything over $70 and it’s not worth it. Far better choices! I’ve never seen it in any of the bars on the ships. Usually BT is available in most bars. The onboard store usually has BT 1L bottles and Blanton’s for sale. During restart they had Blanton’s barrel proof for $89! That was a great day.
  19. We have done Mr. Sanchos many times over the years. The last couple times our experience wasn’t as great. Service/drinks was still great but too many groups getting drunk, playing their own music to loud, smoking, etc. Several have said they see more issues when the shorter cruises show up in port with a certain cruise line that starts with a C. We won’t be back till July and we are still trying to decide what to do but I’ll be looking to see what ships are in port that day.
  20. I think they will be at the Citgo just outside the cruise terminal. I’ve emailed them and also Road Runner. They both seem to have the best reviews for rentals
  21. Why shouldn’t the refundable rates be more? To be honest I wish they would increase refundable even more or just do away with them to keep so many people booking cruises they don’t really intend to go on. I know several people that book several a year then cancel down to one.
  22. I’ve never been on a Royal sailing that didn’t stay on ship time. That’s why they recommend not to let your smart devices update in port since the sailings don’t update to different time zones.
  23. It’s been a couple years since I’ve sailed during a time change. Anyone remember how this is handled? We leave on March 11th and time changes that weekend. For some reason I’m thinking the ships don’t adjust times in the middle of a cruise and wait till the next sailing.
  24. Ok, they makes more sense! We usually book one onboard then get a certificate so we can book another or give it to family.
  25. So if I’m understanding this correctly you can buy a refundable NextCruise certificate for $200 onboard the ship and when ready to to book you pay the difference in deposit and you get a refundable booking? If you cancel do you get the original $200 back? That’s great information if so!
