  1. We're thinking of booking this for our Nov cruise, first time to Cartagena for us ( it's £35.57pp in my planner). Did you have any free time in the Old city to look around on your own. Thanks.
  2. We thought the same about the drink last year, going again in a couple of weeks and will carry our own drink of choice in from another bar. Loved the show though.
  3. No custard on a British menu, not good😁. Sticky Toffee pudding is Mark's favourite dessert in the world, just not the RCL version, he can never resist ordering it though, just in case.
  4. Sorry haven't got them but just seen this posted on the other site. Confirmation that now you only pay the extra if you order something over your package limit rather than the full price. Someone has also posted the new pub menu on there, the cheapest draught beer is £7.50 (I don't drink beer so not sure what it was before)
  5. Not a cancelled cruise but last year I tested positive for covid on the first leg of a b2b and missed the next cruise. Royal originally told me 30 working days for the refund but it actually came a few days before that. A couple of cancelled excursions were even quicker.
  6. I'm fairly sure they would tell you to claim on your own insurance, that's what MSC were doing even when they still had restrictions.
  7. I would have set my own alarm and got up anyway just in case. I've been on ships (multiple lines, not just MSC) that have arrived earlier than planned and let people off, if I had a private excursion I would want to be one of them. That's what the rest of your tour group must have done.
  8. We always add the gratuities when we book, no real advantage apart from then we can just forget about it.
  9. We are doing 7 night Fjords on MSC Virtuosa next month. Yesterday a couple of the big UK TAs were offering it and the following similar one from £367 for inside,( £643 balcony). We've done both Anthem and Virtuosa over the last couple of years and I think they are just as good as one another so no idea why Anthem is so expensive.
  10. I think I've done both, they are usually the last thing I pack so it depends where I have room left😄
  11. Following along with interest as we are going from LA to Miami on Serenade in Nov. I always enjoy your reviews. I've looked at that Cartagena excursion too so will be interested to hear what you think of it.
  12. Yes you can take both no problem, doesn't matter if it's in carry on or checked luggage. We're also on again in May and I'll have my hot brush and straighteners with me.
  13. I really miss the CC roll calls how they used to be a few years ago, met some nice people through them. I've been joining the FB ones since before Covid but they never seem to be quite the same, I actually have more trouble finding things than in a single thread on here. I actually thought we might get a decent roll call for our Panama Canal cruise in Nov on Serenade but even that is currently very quiet.
  14. My email tickets button was greyed out too. I rang MSC (really quick, no hold) and they emailed the tickets to me while I was still on the phone.
  15. San Diego is one of my favourite cities in the world😄
  16. Your daughters always seem lovely, so glad you were all able to enjoy the lounge. My son is an adult now but when he was younger we had similar experiences in the CL, no one ever actually said anything to us but we would always get the glares and could see them muttering. All totally unnecessary as our son, like your daughters knew exactly how to behave. Nowadays I love to see well behaved children with their families around the ship, reminds me of happy days gone by.
  17. Loving your review as always. Your daughter's video was fab. I love the smaller ships too, went on Vision about 15 years ago so nice to see what she is like now. Your dinner looked terrible, I hope the food improved for you. We're not back on RCL until Nov but starting to get a bit worried about the food from recent reports.
  18. I usually book through UK TA offering a discount, upcoming YC was booked direct through MSC UK when they had a 20% discount code. I think the prices OP quoted are decent for a cruise out of Southampton, I meant that cruises from Southampton do not usually see prices (in UK or US) as low as prices for cruises from Florida.
  19. That's a good price for a UK itinerary for 2 people, we don't get the bargains like the US do.
  20. It would depend to me on how you are looking at the cruise. Is it just an add on to a holiday to see a bit more because it's a good price or is it a big part of the holiday to add a bit of relaxation and pampering (that's how I view YC). Also what time of year is the cruise? If it's in school holidays I wouldn't even consider sailing from the UK outside of YC, that's when you read all the horrific reviews about long queues, bad service and no seats around the ship. BTW not many big ships visit Falmouth (which is near me) so quite a nice itinerary.
  21. L'Atelier bar has not been as busy as some of the others on deck 6 when we've been onboard but never been on at full capacity. I would think next week may be a bit quieter as the schools will have gone back.
  22. We stopped at Colon on a Celebrity cruise and took the ferry excursion through the canal. It was excellent, I would recommend it, looks like MSC do the same one.
