  1. Happy anniversary ! You have good taste . I have a box of Sees chocolates on my table in front of me and Iโ€™ll have one in your honor !
  2. You should be good to cruise .The holidays might be a problem, though. Let your friends entertain you this year . The problem with wheelchair assist is that there are so many requesting the service on ships. When we were on HAL it was a mess. I finally had to voice my concern to get off the ship .
  3. It is with sadness that I read your latest news about your knee . I am so sorry to learn of the condition of your 2nd knee and that your only recourse is surgery. I know how much you wanted to avoid it . I hope , it will be less stressful for you physically . My husband is 2 months post surgery and walking around without a cane for weeks . Heโ€™s not doing marathons but gets around just fine . Our next cruise is at the end of September and weโ€™ve requested wheelchair assist on and off the ship just so he doesnโ€™t have to stand for a long time. He has had a much easier time than you . His surgery was done manually , no general anesthesia and in and out of the hospital within 8 hours . Good luck to you and always let us know how you are doing and the best to Linda .
  4. My husband who isnโ€™t from New England noticed that the whole lobster that I had ordered in the MDR lacked the claws . This was years , ago . The waiter told him that they use the claws in other dishes. Ummm , no ! The next day I was served a whole lobster including the claws.
  5. @Sea Dog Greg , so sorry you are still experiencing knee pain . I hope , the stem cell transplant fixes you up . You have to be in ship shape for your upcoming cruises. I donโ€™t think your MRI experience is out of the ordinary and you did well . My mother-in-law freaked out and did major damage to the MRI equipment. Keep us informed of your progress and my good wishes to Linda , also .
  6. Thatโ€™s scary ! That has happened three times to my hubby minus the glass incident. Last time it scared me tremendously because he fainted with his eyes open . I thought he had died . The diagnosis was low BP and dehydration.
  7. Five college chemistry majors in my family . Only one high school chem teacher. Iโ€™m sure your students appreciated you .
  8. Iโ€™d recommend the giant wheel and the rides at the Stratosphere because of their ages . This is not for everyone , I found The Bodies exhibit fascinating. Restaurants I would suggest buffets and I like the one at Caesarโ€™s. It is huge . The last time I was there they had a time limit you could occupy your table. There are a lot of food courts . If they want to go fancy Michael Mina at the Bellagio.
  9. Weโ€™re going to be in Vancouver in September for 3 days . Do you have any restaurant recommendations? Our hotel is on Burrard St near the art museum. How is Cin Cin ? Thank you .
  10. Robin Williams suffered from Lewy Body dementia . It would be hard for anyone to deal with it no matter how fortunate you are . His wife described it as demons living in his head . In better times my husband switched seats in first class on AA with James Lipton on his way to interview Robin Williams in the SF Bay Area. I asked him how was your interview with Barbra Streisand ? It took two days !
  11. I know nothing about music but surely the tryouts are not to see if you qualify but where you fit in . These singing groups for PD patients and caregivers are supposed to be therapeutic.
  12. Very good friends are precious and are greatly missed when they leave us . He was very talented. Such a great loss . A good friend of mine will be rolling through your state today on her way to NYC by train . It is such an ambitious endeavor for a senior female traveling by her lonesome. I hope it is a smooth journey for her as she no choice for return except by train . She has a lovely two weeks planned in the big city .
  13. Iโ€™m sorry about your musician friend . You must have great memories of your time together. My husbandโ€™s brother asked us to join him and his lady friend in LV so we did . We had a fun time with them . One month later he died . We are so grateful to have had one last visit him . When in LV , I think of him . Woe , you go way back . Iโ€™ve only read of those deals . The food is better and the shows are glitzier and it costs more , too . Very sorry about your friend, Greg .
  14. Continued good luck , Sue ! There must be more to this room because it lacks ambiance . It is rather plain . Menu looks appetizing, though . Nice feet !
  15. You havenโ€™t been to Las Vegas? I think you would enjoy it . I used to play the slots and I would get free nights . No more because it stopped being fun . We had a house in escrow in the Summerlin neighborhood of Las Vegas and canceled two weeks before the close of escrow. It was going to be a business move . We ended up in a suburb of LA.
  16. That is a pretty good description. My most vivid memory is from a fire north of Los Angeles. I could see the flames from my second story window. Another time I was driving down the street and could see the flames in Simi Valley . Thankfully nothing in the last decade where I now reside .
  17. It is heartbreaking to see the devastation of the fires . Those close enough should park their cars in their garages . We once had our driveway covered in soot carried by the wind . The air quality was miserable.
  18. I totally agree. Sue , I save your review to read in the evening. Itโ€™s a real treat . Iโ€™ll miss it when your cruise ends . Made me laugh, also . You have a great sense of humor .
