  1. What's in a name? They could call it Regent Tub of Lard and I would book it.
  2. You are correct sir! Except, I really want a luxuriestic-est experience.
  3. Singlets - that does sound more civilized than wife beaters. Henceforth - I will call them singlets.
  4. Exactly. Now I want to sail on the most prestigi-estic ship around. That way I should be able to get the luxury experience my husband and I have worked so hard to achieve.
  5. Okay. I guess I've just never seen the pool closed all day, unless it was a rough sea day.
  6. There are nice leggings and there are sports leggings. I think nice leggings with a long or tunic top and some stylish shoes would look pretty. It would look a lot more sophisticated than the cargo capri pants and sports sandals I've seen women wearing in the evening.
  7. I've list all the possible reasons the pool may be closed - cleaning, open hours, required regulations, etc. I would like to hear what the OP says about why the pool was closed and if it was really horrifying or just disappointing/annoying.
  8. Oh man - now that would be a reason to be horrified. Also, the pools are not open 24/7. In order to vacate their suite on time, perhaps they went to the pool before it was open for the day. Or else, Regent was deviously trying to make sure they had the most horrible cruise of a lifetime.
  9. I maintain there could have been a very good reason for the pool to be closed. Maybe the cruise line is required to clean the pool before new guests come on board. Who knows - it is not something to be horrified about.
  10. Perhaps it was scheduled for cleaning. If that is horrifying, lucky you because your life is pretty darn good.
  11. I have a SS cruise booked for August 2025, which I don't plan on cancelling. However, I won't book another SS cruise until I hear how all of this shakes out. I understand profit is the bottom line concern, and I am one who is willing to pay a little more in order to keep a luxury experience.
  12. I like over the top luxury. Anymore, "over-the-top" might just mean "regular luxury". We shall see.
  13. I'm sorry. I grew up using that term, and didn't mean to insult anybody. There use to be a TV show called, "Cops", and invariably when the cops showed up to a domestic violence situation, the dude was wearing one of these things. I resolve to stop using it. What do they call them in Australia?
  14. I wonder why someone who needs a service dog would work on a ship which is not close to serious medical care should the need arise. If one is visually impaired, how do they design jewelry? If it is a comfort dog, again, why would one sail if luxury sailing requires the need to be comforted. Are you afraid of water? It's very confusing.
  15. I got my luggage tags (color coded with suite location) in the mail without being asked by Regent for any information.
  16. Yes, a polo (golf) shirt is fine. They just don't want men wearing T-Shirts or wife-beaters.
  17. Exactly. The plasticized paper ones Regent mailed to me are pretty tough. The print from home ones are useless.
  18. I very much dislike the paper tags. They rarely make it to our suite. I guess they look at our regular bag tags and figure out where we are "living" from there.
  19. I just received my tags for an early July sailing. They are a plasticized paper, and should hold up well for luggage transfer from the longshoremen to delivery to your suite, or hotel to suite as the case may be. I received the "pleather" ones in the past, but these are just fine. If they have to cut costs somewhere, then this is the place to do it.
  20. Thank you for posting that link. Seabourn is one of my top three, and I like to stay informed.
  21. I wouldn't judge anyone with a handicap, or disability. I do wonder how people can afford a $30K+ cruise, but can't afford a nice pair of slacks. Wondering is not the same as judging.
  22. I understand there will be cuts across the line, but I doubt it will be evenly distributed among the line. You can't get blood from a turnip. You can, however, serve a lower quality complimentary caviar, champagne, steak, etc. etc. I am a Regent fan and will not stop cruising on Regent, even if they serve Cook's....................well, maybe I went too far.
