  1. Not sure if there are even private tour guides who would make that trip from Malaga (it's 125 km each way) and if there are it will cost you probalby $$$ ... have you looked into "Spain Day Tours" ?
  2. As long as Porto and Lisboa is not affected; I am fine...
  3. Can you just give them the name of the ship instead of the terminal ? And they will figure out where to pick you up ?
  4. It was bigger (especially the location tours) when the show was running and before Covid hit the world. The guide from the movie location tour told us, they used to run several buses every day and now it's only one bus three times a week doing one tour and another one doing the other tour to visit several locations, where GoT was filmed (like Winterfell, the hanging tree, the Iron Islands etc) But you're asking for the Studiotour which I did as well but as the shuttle was not running on the day of my visit I had to do my own way with the public bus which worked out just fine. The Studio tour was great; to see the costumes and some nice props. Of course Harry Potter Studios are bigger and more exciting but as a big GoT-Fan it's still a great thing to see and do...but probably if I had only one day and the choice I would rather visit the great Titanic Museum at the location, where she and her sisters were built. I did it in June 2022 on a landbased trip together with the two location tours and a day in Belfast, where I could visit the Titanic Museum and the catholic part as well. So you have many choices in Belfast.
  5. I used the public bus and had the shuttle from the pick-up point in the village nearby, it took two changes but was much cheaper than the direct shuttle from Belfast (which anyway was not anymore available for my visit back in June 2022)
  6. I did several day trips from Switzerland (where I spent 8 hours on the train and got 6 hours in Paris) and it was still great fun...but I work for the Swiss Railway and had therefore a really cheap ticket. For sure it will not be a cheap daytrip...if you book way in advance you might get a better deal with a ticket which will be not refundable and not changeable. But you still look at least a 150 $ per person....which can get up to 500 $ per Person on short notice and if you wait too long the trains might even be sold out. The three things you have on your list are easy doable in a day; though finding a restaurant on Champs-Elysees might be quite tricky (maybe look instead for a lunch-cruise on the river Seine). For a view I recommend the Tour Montparnasse. Far less people and really a great view. And you will see so many sights from there.
  7. Agree with the National Museum of Scotland - it's a great place and free (or run on donations) as are the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery. I've been twice to Edinburgh and at the first time coulnd't visit much. On the second time I was there on a land based trip with 5 nights. It all depends on your interests what you want to see. - Castle (book your ticket in advance) - Museums (above mentioned) - Jonnie Walker Experience (allow 2 hours) might be available on short notice as well - Royal Yacht Brittania or just walk around the Royal Mile and Calton Hill and the Gardens....(many films used Edinburgh as their location and JKR got many inspiration for Harry Potter here as well)
  8. There are stories of people not even allowed to board a ship if they had not the proper papers for every port there was...
  9. No matter what you book ; you will not be flexible (especially if you go for the cheapest option) - so if you miss the departure, you lost your money and have to book and pay again. So if you are not in a hurry and have nothing planed in Paris on Day 1; opt for a later departure to be sure. Another thought; the train will always run (if the workers union is not on strike) but a Flixbus or BlaBlaCar might only run if they have enough passengers...
  10. Because usually it's cheaper to fly in and out from the same place; but if you fly from London to Milan, maybe do some research if it's possible to store your baggage in Milan...
  11. And you travel around in Norther Italy ? Or are you staying in the same place ? And on your way back you don't stop in London again. Because another thought (but not cheap as well, depending on the time you spend) might be to put it in storage...
  12. yes, train might be the easiest and also the cheapest
  13. I don't think you should try to do it...25 minutes are probably the time if the roads are fine, but you might arrive in the middle of the morning rush hour and you never can be sure that you can leave the ship by 8 am...is there no Bord Tour doing the same ? Or maybe you didn't look any further, but there might be other companies doing those tours and even pick you up at the pier...
  14. I don't think that the "TransMonserrat"-Tickets (that is the one you're looking for) can be sold out. Best way in my experience if you go all the way to "Monistrol de Montserrat", where you will catch the Funicular; it's better as the Airial Car as it has no waiting time and more space AND the big bus groups will enter at the next station and not the one you enter. It's a really nice place where you can also do some hikes, so if you got time stay there not only to see the cathedrale...
  15. and of course only book private tours if they guarantee you to be back in time for your departure as the ship will not wait for you if you should get into a traffic jam...
  16. Of course you know that it was not the "last supper" but the "feast of Dyonisos" that they created, a greek god of festivites as the ancient olympic games were greek. And if that's the reason you want to skip Paris, then you can skip France altogether as it was not only a city but a whole country which are hosting the games...
  17. If it's the same as us, you will have to tender and the landing place is at least 40 minutes walk from the towncenter of Alta, but there is a public bus getting you there and also either the same bus or another one to the amazing "Alta Museum". In the town center there are some shops but I didn't checked them out, but there is the nice modern "Northern Lights Cathedrale". Highly recommend (if times allowes it) to go out to the "Alta Museum" to see the Stone Carvings"
  18. For sure I wouldn't stay on board - for a 4 year old in my experience everything is interesting, even if it's just a normal playground or the big beach searching for sea shells...I see on google maps there is even a little japanese garden nearby the port area where one might see (and feed) ducks ?!?
  19. It probably depends where the ship can go; i think if it's on that island (with a causeway, where you are probably not allowed to walk) then they have you to provide you with a free shuttle to the exit; I will see when I am arriving what's available as I plan to use that public bus to the city center...
  20. the cheapest "café" you get is right on your cruise ship ! But yes, just wander around and look at the places you like and the fewer tourist are in there the cheaper it usually is... by the way learn a little bit french as the owners/waiters of those places will be much friendlier then if you only speak english to them (some will probably even pretend to not understand you)
  21. Can you remember if there was a shuttle bus service ; as I see the cruise port is on an artificial Island (or is there a shuttle to leave that island and drop you of outside the port area ?)
  22. August must be hell in Edinburgh, not only of the heath, and remember it's not only Fringe, but the only month the Military Tattoo is on, and as I have seen at the same time there is also a book festival and probably many other events...
  23. Just returned and you got already all the answers, I would skip Holyrood Palace and leave Dean Village and the Botanical Garden for the last thing to do, but everything else is doable. The tramride is quite nice and if you should take the Daypass Option, watch out, it will be only valid on "Lothian Buses"
  24. It's probably cheaper to have a hotel a little further away and just pay a metro ticket (most places are about 30 minutes subway ride away) - Russel Square is the station you'll have to look for... I've so far only stayed either near Victoria Station or near Paddington to save money.
  25. They changed that homepage since the last time...it's a little bit confusing...
