Got all of our forms approved by the doc! Regarding the dive log....we are bringing our dive computers (plus our own gear) and our dives our logged on the computer. Since we dont plan to do any advanced dives, I am hoping this will suffice just in case we are asked. Our last dive was on 7/22/23. Otherwise I'd need to manually recreate the dives onto paper. @ltdemptynest @sjkoen are you planning to bring a manual log? Just wondering. 1. The need to provide a logbook: If a guest wishes to embark on a dive at the “active advanced diver” level, he or she must have logged 100 or more dives and must have their logbooks with them.

Are you seeing it on the jet ski tours where it’s one ticket, for the both of you, for each 2-seater jet ski? Or the private tours where just one ticket is needed for your party? That is my only thought on where or why you might be seeing just one name come up.

@Leejnd4 Despite the challenges, this has been one of the best conversations I've been a part of here on CC. Like you said, helping and supporting one another. Im sure you are well connected with dive people in PV but I am happy to reach out to my friend Cesar at Scuba Banderas Republic to see if he know of a doc that routinely signs off of these releases. Yesterday afternoon, the fiancée and I both got messages from our PCPs saying to come in and pick up our completed forms at the reception desk! Woo hoo! We go in this morning, his is ready and mine is MIA. Nurse goes back to reprint it but the doc is with a patient and cant sign it at the moment. No biggie I told her, I can come back tomorrow. 20-mins after we left I get a message saying its ready LOL. Going back tomorrow but we are 50% there!

Excursions can be booked by phoning PG; just did this yesterday for our 8/26 sailing. They book it and you pay on-board. No tiered bookings based on cabin class. Our final payment was due 90-days prior to sail date.

Woo hoo! Congrats! I got a message from my Primary Care doc on Sunday night saying she could complete it and asked if I wanted to pick it up this week! Will feel better once I get the doc in hand. Fiancées doc hasn’t replied yet but like you, with the same medical group. Kept the 8/9 appointments with the dive doctor just in case.

So excited! how you described the large cruise ship mess is our prior experience with the exception of Windstar which was pretty smooth. But small tenders.

This is perfect, thank you! We will only be there one night but have a decent amount of time and no plans before embarkation so figured I’d head to the mall and check out what they had. Def want to grab a snack and really want those Hinano glasses so thanks for the tip on those! My thought is the same as yours; I don’t really dedicate much time for shopping during trips unless we just happen to be somewhere with thighs to buy. But I do want a pareo and fiancee wants a men’s shirt of some sort.

Hello, Reading back on a post from Oct 2022, there was mention of getting tender tickets from the piano bar. Is that still necessary, as of recent experience, if we don’t have a ship tour booked? Or just go down and line up early? Didn’t see anything in the dailies posted by the darkest blue from June but did notice that a scheduled tender was earmarked for booked ship tours. We’d like to be aboard the first or second of the day. Thanks!

Hi! Did you end up going to the shopping center near the Papeete (Tahiti) Hilton for a pareo? We will be there pre-cruise and was just thinking about best places for pareo and souvenirs. Thanks!

I saw this posted on the Daily Activities thread from a recent PG cruise. Looks like shorts are permitted during Polynesian night.

We’ve got a tour booked on Huahine with Marc’s and will just be diving in Bora Bora and Moorea (7-night itin). If something changes and we do dive on Huahine, will definitely report back. I was going to post on this thread during the cruise on dive stuff anyway 🙂

Ahhh ok…I couldn’t recall and for some reason I was thinking Baja. We just got back from PV and had some great dives at Los Arcos and Majahuitas. I’d bet you’d have good chances finding a doc in PV!

@Leejnd4 seriously thank you! Not great news but to your point, had we shown up without the new forms and doctors sign off, we would have been devastated. I had the old forms all ready to go! Thank you to @sjkoen for tipping us off to look into this further. Fingers are crossed that you can find someone local to sign it for you! Worst case, not sure how far down you are in MX but worst case, you can get it signed off in San Diego for sure.

woo hoo! We sent the forms over to our PCP via message and will see what they say. Much closer to home as UCSD is about an hour+ away but keeping those 8/9 appts as backups. are they going to sign, scan and send back or you'd pick up the original from their office? Just wondering.

@sjkoen May I ask, did you check the boxes yourself or have the MD do it during your appt? I was able to schedule an appt for 8/9 with the UC San Diego Dive Medicine office. No idea what it will cost but all relative since we leave in 4-weeks haha

Not great news and as @ltdemptynest noted, our dive forms were different as well. ok well off to search for an MD that can sign off. Not sure our primacy care physician can sign off but I’ll start there. We sail on 8/26 so I need to get working on this!

In addition to Boston, Pride also calls on San Juan and the USVI during the Caribbean season. The Star Breeze calls on Alaska (at least for now) so I’d assume they’re in scope too.

Any idea if they are doing Anau on the 7-night? We will be in Bora Bora overnight. Thank you!

All of my dives are logged on my Shearwater Peregrine dive computer that upload to an app on my phone. We dove last week in Puerto Vallarta and the BVI in June so we’ve got very recent dives. Our cruise is Aug 26. Anyone presented their logs digitally on an app? I think I can print them too but I don’t have a physical log-book.

This was my understanding too…just like the PADI disclosures, if you answer yes to certain questions (like lung issues or heart condition), then you must get clearance. Otherwise, no MD sign-off is needed.

If you have your heart set on a particular day and time, book it right when you arrive. They usually have a table set up at check in. We’ve been able to squeeze in without a reservation at times but we called the restaurant or saw the reception desk first to see if they could get us in.
