I was talking in the context of paying extra/higher than usual fare for those features. Also, depending on the ship/location/itinerary you could have more half the ship being newbies to RCI.
Without info from RCI (they would usually trumpet any meaningful changes) assume only routine maintenance for the dry dock.
Folks on CC may consider paying extra for an AMPed ship because of some feature/venue added or the expectation of cabins being refurbished - the much larger general public doesn't know (or care) or have that info and cruise fares are based on that.
Probably - sounds like you are mixing up booking types between GTY and non-GTY. A bit more detail on what you are trying to do may elicit more feedback.
The basic math hasn't changed much - generally, if you know for sure you'll have at least 5 alcoholic drinks per day every day, get the package in the planner.
Once you make the booking NRD, those rules kick in - meaning, $100pp change fee to move to another booking or an FCC with a one year expiration (all of these of course before final payment).
