  1. I don't get all bent out of shape over marketing. It's been around a while. I understand what phrases like, "up to", "included" "available" "as much as" "optional" "starting at" and many other similar statements mean. Pretty much all businesses do it. What's that old latin advice? Caveat emptor.
  2. I’m a little something, don’t know what the medical term might be, but I could myself saying that.
  3. That poster was determined to trash Oceania before they ever set foot on it. I don't know why they wasted their money and went on the cruise.
  4. Thanks for the tip about the packaged snakes Gary. In all my years of cruising I haven't run in to any of them, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for those in the future. 😉
  5. Yeah, I follow that, I still don't think it should matter. Unless there are more people trying to eat in there on the first night, but I actually think there would be more in the Terrace on the first night.
  6. Why is this? It might be our first night onboard but it's just another night for the staff. There is no pre set seating in the MDR, should be the same night after night.
  7. I found the old information I posted 6 or 7 years ago, here is the 411 on all the decks with laundry rooms on Riviera, don't know about Marina, but it's probably the same. Just a odd note on the laundry locations as we've discussed this before. I checked this out and decks 11 & 7 have entrances on the port side that open directly into the laundry room. Decks 10 & 8 have entrances from the port side that opens into a little hallway with crew area on one side and the entrance to the laundry on the other. It does not go to the starboard side. Deck 9 has a hallway that connects from the port to starboard side with the laundry through an entrance in the middle. (Also, fun things to do while you're on a transatlantic)
  8. Both I think deck 9 is one of the laundries that has a hallway and is accessible from either side, some are not. The lounge definitely has a door on both sides.
  9. Lyn, read the thread again, it appears they are already on their cruise, Day 1, at sea.
  10. It looks a little late for this advice. You can always use cash to pay your onboard account, gratuities, drinks, anything you buy on the ship. Just go talk to them at Guest Relations and tell them you want to use cash instead of credit card. That would eat up part of it. Then there's the casino, bottles of wine, ships tours. Or just take it home with you.
  11. I believe you already have a negative outlook on Oceania due to your previous experience and will look for anything to pick apart. Save yourself some grief and book on another line you know you like.
  12. I've never had to show the Ticket Contract, but I do always take a copy of it in my printed folder. Most recently it's been boarding pass & passport. Assuming you've done the online check in.
  13. Actually that would apply to most of these questions. Perhaps the best thing the OP could do is spend some time reading through old threads here, go back 3 or 4 pages. That's what I always do when I'm checking a different cruise line.
  14. I have AC on an upcoming trip and we have the Premium Economy from YYZ to LHR. We purchased the promotion and was not able to get it on the return from DUB to DFW on Delta, but only because they were all sold out. We did get Premium Comfort on all the legs of the return, but it aint the same. At any rate it's my fault for not taking my included deviation and requesting flights at 270 days out, as we are traveling with friends that don't have the deviation and wanted to fly together. I thought I posted this last night, but maybe it didn't take, I can't imagine I said anything that needed to be deleted.
  15. In my recent experience I've found it varies, but no one is checking invitations.
  16. Not sure what is happening, but Club level is completely separate from any promotions, always has been.
  17. Meanwhile, how about that Olife?
  18. On the first day yes, but any day after that it’s not retroactive back to the start of the cruise.
  19. I don't think so, unless something has very recently changed. Yes,
  20. I've never been through this on Oceania but we were on a Celebrity cruise right before a big upgrade to one of their ships and it was exactly like you said, lot's of work and construction workers onboard. Many areas shutoff, dust, work ongoing in the buffet area.
  21. Got it, I misunderstood where you were talking about, now I understand. One of the most memorable dinners we had was after a day at Kotor Montenegro and were cruising back up the passage to the main channel. Beautiful weather, fabulous scenery, great food, excellent experience out there.
  22. Yeah, what Lyn said above, and I'm pretty sure that staircase is a butler passageway. If you went down there and sat at a table you were probably on an Oceania Suite balcony, depending on which ship you were on. No doubt you'd have to go early to grab it.
