  1. Yeah, no one really understands what that's all about. We discussed that a few months ago.
  2. Simple definition of the Silent sale is that there are a certain number of preferred Oceania agents that have access to special pricing that is not advertised anywhere or is not available on their website. The agents then notify their clients that might be interested in them.
  3. It would seem pretty obvious cruises aren't selling well, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing these sales. So what do we expect to change?
  4. So we can rule out the number of posts as the reason. 🤣
  5. Constantly posting about it probably adds to that jeopardy also.
  6. I'm still trying to get my head around this. Why?
  7. In my experience I find that the mobile apps sacrifice a lot for size sake. I use a laptop, Iphone 14, an Ipad Pro, and Ipad air. It's interesting to see the differences between them on the same website, platforms etc. For example, on the laptop I can see locations, but on my phone I have to click on the user name or their avatar to see where they're from. Having to take an extra step to find that information to me is not friendly. There might be an easier way that I'm missing. There are other things not just here but on other sites that are sacrificed. I usually only use the mobile versions when I'm not at home. But we each have to do what works best for us. PS, I obviously know how to use the Quote feature, but I do see many struggle with it, so there's definitely an issue with the setup.
  8. It's not the poster's fault, it's the CC update they did a few years ago, it used to be easier to quote someone. I know what you're saying, but it takes an effort to post in the right place.
  9. Unfortunately sea days only. It wasn't always that way.
  10. It's ok, we all had to learn how this works sometime.
  11. Yes, try to find a good travel agent and quit trying to deal directly with Oceania.
  12. There are other options, are any of those open to you?
  13. Does your $2000 a person cheaper still include air and transfers? And yes, the beverage package is just beer and wine with lunch and dinner, or when ordering room service.
  14. Actually you would have been better off just with cruise only. The OBC option is a dollar for dollar trade of real money for non refundable OBC. I don't know if you're getting air or not, but the air is not tied to getting Olife. This is part of the confusion on Oceania's marketing.
  15. Yep, our last 10 day cruise we went Cruise Only and were part of a group. We had a welcome dinner, then the Captain's party, then a day or so later the repeaters party, then dinner with an officer, then group final dinner with group including cocktail party beforehand, a couple of bottles for the room, a couple of bottles of Champagne or sparkling for mimosas, a daily stop for the 2-4-1 Happy Hour. Dinner off the ship in Charleston, some good eating there. Don't know when we'd have worked in the package. Didn't miss not having beer or wine with lunch.
  16. Actually mine is a little more complicated. It is Ultimate, but now is not offering that, but is offering the Free pre or post trip. I've got the onboard $300 OBC, but not the On board booking savings since we got the Ultimate offer. The price has gone up some, but only a couple hundred per person($400). The value of the Land trip is about 1600 pp. Seeing how it's a 24 day cruise the option I would keep on the Olife is the drink package, which has a $1920 value for the two of us. The excursions I'd be giving up have a value at Oceania asking price of approximately $1500 and the OBC would be $800. So by my math it would cost me(either real money or perks) $2700 to get a $3200 tour. So I'd be $500 ahead, but the big question would be do I want to go on that Pre tour? I'm not drinking today, so my figures could be off. Or I might have missed something. Since I have included deviations I might go in early and do my own tour, I might be able to book a hotel a couple of nights and take a few tours and keep the Ultimate.
  17. So you got to keep the Olife with the Extraordinary savings? You just lost the Ultimate?
  18. Does anyone know when the Amex spiff is applied to the booking?
  19. This is great information, and a funny thread. Also an excellent example of who you should take advice from. A two cruise wonder or those that have been on multiple Oceania cruises over the years.
