  1. The best beach with calm waters are either in Nuevo Vallarta, far north of Puerto Vallarta or in Mismaloya south of Puerto Vallarta. In both cases you need a cab to get there. However there is hardly any public beach that rents out chairs etc. Some hotels in Nuevo give out daypasses. Mismaloya is more or less the same. Playa Palmares, a bit north of Mismaloya has a nice beach and often you can rent chairs and umbrellas there. Again a cab is needed to get there. Beaches in general in Vallarta can have rough waves, which is of course not always happening. Playa los Muertes near the pier in centre has some nice restaurants, El Dorado and La Palapa offer beachclub facilities for a daily rate. https://www.eldoradopvr.com/beach-club
  2. There are regular buses going to Stegastein which you can book online. You can book a return trip with a photostop at the viewpoint. https://www.norwaysbest.com/globalassets/pdf/rutetider/rutetider-2023/bus-stegastein---prest-2023.pdf https://www.norwaysbest.com/things-to-do/bus-services/stegastein-viewpoint/?psafe_param=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbzwwKMjhoAUTBgUka__Jy_25rUvvmmBtKFaTcLSyXtteAszF6DD0EcaAoRGEALw_wcB
  3. Hardly or no tours offered at the dock in Norway. But in Eidfjord you can walk to the tourism office close to the dock and see what tours they offer. As far as I know (not been there) Kristiansand is a nice place to walk around.
  4. Get in touch and make reservations with: https://www.staxi.nl/en/amsterdam-taxi/ or https://www.tcataxi.nl/ Both good companies
  5. I am very surprised about that. Which company or at which location?
  6. Unfortunately no more hop on off boats in Amsterdam since Covid. But indeed plenty of companies at various locations.
  7. We sailed Oosterdam last October from Roma to Triest with stops in Turkye and Greece. Had a great cruise, love Oosterdam and its awesome crew.
  8. You can contact those companies in The Netherlands and see if they can help you. https://bobtours.nl/wagenpark/ https://www.coachrental.eu/bus-rental-Amsterdam/?gclid=CjwKCAjwkeqkBhAnEiwA5U-uMy99-RWBkPMHUi5Vf_qz_ME6v7RFyb3q-PGkbRkphVMz3iwyC9SskhoCAaIQAvD_BwE https://osabus.com/bus-rental-amsterdam-netherlands/?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkeqkBhAnEiwA5U-uMy8wKAk9aBTh2iHX2D2-m4jEmKV5trZ0R57LLtnf6sKFaSOXNzdjkBoCKyoQAvD_BwE https://www.brouwertours.nl/en/coach-hire-amsterdam
  9. The hopon off bus has a longer route then the little train.
  10. Check the small bus that offers transfers to Venice: https://www.goopti.com/en/transfers/italy-venice/italy-trieste
  11. As far as I know there is no hopon off bus since it is a small little town. However I know about this funtrain: https://www.katakolon.org/tourist-fun-train/ In the same website other items like the museum etc are mentioned
  12. Indeed Rotterdam is very walkable and also has good frequent public transport allover town and around. You will find some good info on this website: https://en.rotterdam.info/ You will see a lot of new or rather new buildings in town since during WWII the center was totaly destroyed.
  13. Indeed take the train to Centraal Station and walk from there. It will be about 10/15 minutes depending how quick you walk
  14. Easy short walk to Hotel New York, former HAL headoffice. Almost next to eachother.
  15. Start reading some of the older postings, a lot of in formation how to get there etc. Yes it is safe
  16. Euros are preferred so they can do their local shopping when they have free time. If they have US$ they have to change them and pay a fee for that.
  17. Thank you Chemmo for your grreat reply. Earlier this year there was a similar cruise and I hope some of those passengers will tell me more. On those earlier postings there were photos of the shuttles (often with a charge). We certainly know how little my husband can walk, so we often do private tours, rent a car or do shipstours. We have not booked yet, but hope to make the decision within a few days.
  18. People who sailed this earlier this year willl know, but indeed better to name it. Starting in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Malaga, Cadiz, Porto and ending in Lisbon.
  19. I have read various older reports about this cruise. We are about to book the sailing October 20 from Barcelona to Lisbon in a room with balcony. We have sailed with X in the past a few times, but I have some questions re the various ports. My husband can only walk short distances. If we use the shuttles in the ports from the dock into town do they come more or less close to the centre and/or e.g. hopon off buses? Any special tour , either booked in the ship or private you can recommand? We have been to Barcelona before and once did Palma in a rental car some years ago. All other ports are new to us. I know many reports are from some time back, but I hope somebody who made this cruise can answer my questions. Thanks in advance.
  20. I have read all the reports about this cruise. We are about to book the sailing October 20 from Barcelona to Lisbon, so the other way around. Probably a room with balcony. We have sailed with X in the past a few times, but I have some questions re the various ports. My husband can only walk short distances, if we use the shuttles in ports from the dock into town do they come more or less close to the centre and/or e.g. hopon off buses? 21. Are you familiar with the traffic in Amsterdam? Thousands of bikers always in a hurry, speedy trams (streetcars) allover town, plus lots of buses, cabs and of course people walking (not always noticing the bike path)? Even if you are a good biker it can be rather dangerous certainly on an electric bike. Maybe a regular is a little bit better since you can not go that fast.If you still want to bike, find an organised tour.
  22. In addition to what Hank writes, always make your price before entering a cab. From Zona Romantica back expect to pay more or less Pesos 150,- , from the northern part of Malecon around Pesos 100,-- That is per ride for max 4 persons. Yes they will ask for more in general as they know you are tourists, and the closer to the Malecon the higher the price. 100 Pesos is about US$ 6.- Uber will also work from the city to the cruise terminal, the other way around only from outside the terminal. From the cruise terminal to town you can take a federal cab, as offered at the ermnal for about US$ 5,- per person, if you walk outside towards the busy road the rfegular cab will charge as mentioned above. If you take a cab note his sitio number and cab number - or make a photo of it - (on the outside at the cab), in case you forgot something. Daily I read reports from people forgetting or loosing their phone in a cab. Enjoy Vallarta!
  23. The best and easiest probably is the shuttle your cruiseline might offer. Public transport is a bit complicated, cabs will be very expensive. All information on this website for public transport in this website. Put in from/to etc. https://9292.nl/en
  24. A few years ago we took one of the buses offering a returnticket to Olympia outside the pier. We had plenty of time to see the museum and the "ruins", even had time for a lunch in the village. I think we paid E. 15.- per person for the return. Worth it!
