Better take a local bus with the sign centro and get off near Hotel Rosita at the beginning of the Malecon. Of course a cab is always good too. Yes it is walkable but only if you are a good walker and be aware of the heat. The walk will be along a busy road.

Indeed I forgot to mention Zaanse Schans. You can take the bus as mentioned but also very easy might be the train to station Zaanse Schans, it is just a 20 minute ride. I think it is the nicest way to walk (about 10 minutes) from the station to Zaanse Schans a you will see the windmills situated along river Zaan. As far as I know the ship docks in an industrial area, so you might need to take a shuttle into town and find a cab there. That is what we did a few years ago.

At the tender dock you will find boats offering transportation to Oia. They sail after their boat is filled, so sometimes it takes some time. It is one way only. So either walk back to Fira, get a local bus or cab.
