  1. A lot has changed at the port since a new terminal at Pier 1 has opened. Lots of shops inside and depending the pier a small flea market at pier 3. If I remember right that restaurant has gone too. Across from the terminal you will see Galleria Mall with Liverpool as main shop. Restaurant Memin offers mainly various fish meals and also had some tables outside. Or you have to go to the Marina (where the yachts are), more or less walking distance but a cab would be easier. Lots of restaurants outside along the water there.
  2. Certainly not always as trains can be busy, it is pubic transport. Not really suitable for large luggage, trolleys will be ok.
  3. It is up to you what you prefer. . In case you have an airport hotel at Schiphol, you of course need to buy train or bustickets each day.. Also count the traveltime and more in case your hotel is not at the airport but outside. I would prefer a hotel in town, so much nicer. Did you check a site like booking.com? They offer a lot of hotels at various rates etc.
  4. If I remember right it was the one on Leilebil, (Nedre Strandgate) about 10 minutes walk from the cruise terminal.
  5. I am sorry to read this. Indeed it does not sound the way it should have been. Was it very busy at the time of your visit? We always had pleasant times at Canopy river.
  6. Goopti offers transfers. https://www.goopti.com/en/
  7. I was not talking about taxi, but about the busdrivers in Puerto Vallarta
  8. In Alesund we rented a car through Avis, one of their office is about 10 minute walk from the cruise terminal. I am sure in a city like Bergen there will be rental cars probably also Avis etc.
  9. I missed the meetingpojnt is Rivercafe. Indeed the ride will last at least 20 minutes but most likely more. Traffic this year is crazy! That is also why I said if the meetingpoint is at the dock they will make it. However if the meeting is elsewhere it is impossible. Panorama often docks at 3, however passengers need to walk to the exit near pier 2. In case they dock at 1, then indeed they need to walk through the shoppingcenter to get out. Best advice indeed to contact the tour operator for exact details,
  10. Not really, you will find various restaurants where you are welcome but of course you need to buy drinks and food.
  11. Indeed Uber or cab. It will be a drive of about 20 minutes depending traffic.
  12. Depending the day you might try and contact this man. https://www.dagtoertaxi.nl/ and or this: https://oranjetaxiservice.nl/en/
  13. Yes regular taxis will be available but often expensive. Of course it depends where you want to go and for how long.Uber might be an alternative
  14. Probably Euro 50 or more depending traffic.
  15. Absolutely safe and reliable company. They also do a lot of charity for the community. The place is awesome in the middle of nature and maybe you can walk the long hanging bridge (against a fee). Also their restaurant is in a nice place.
  16. Much depends where you have to go to join your tour. According the port schedules in Vallarta Panorama most of the times docks at around 8.30. If your tour leaves from the port you will be ok, if you have to go to another place it might be too early.
  17. Check Nhow Hotel. also next to the cruiseterminal in Rotterdam. Or Inntel Rotterdam Centre, across the river from the cruise terminal.
  18. With nowadays traffic the cab ride cannot be only 5-15 minutes, more 20 minutes and more! La Palapa is a well known restaurant with loungers with umbrellas at the ocean, not a real beachclub. The same for its excellent neighbor El Dorado.
  19. This company has cabs suitable for wheelchairs. I have no personal experience with it. But of course you can send them an email with your question and check the price. I hope this will help you. info@rolstoeltaxirotterdam.nl
  20. After the Malecon continue to Playa Los Muertes with many restaurants on the beach and the pier to walk on. https://vallartainfo.com/downtown-map/ and https://vallartainfo.com/vallarta-southside-old-town-map/ You will find a lot of information and maps on that side.
  21. We found another poster that time on this board that had done it and he convinced us to do it as well. We loved it! No the road is not really narrow, regular 2 lanes or even 4 lanes sometimes. Only at trollstigen you have the many curves, the rest is regular. We didnot have any problems with traffic. On Trollstigen we had one bus in front of us going down but of course we couldnot drive that fast ourselves. We were lucky that our ship was leaving at 11pm, so we didnot have to hurry. Your problem might be that Avis opens at 9 or 9.30, check that. So you need to pick up the car as soon as possible. It is doable, we made many photo stops, had coffee and later also lunch. If you would skip lunch you should have enough time I think. I cannot promise you any or none problems on the road of course.
  22. We reserved our car through Avis at this address: Nedre Standgate 50. From the cruiseterminal we turned left and it was about a 10 minutes walk. Very friendly staff. The office closed at 4 pm but there was a key drop, so we could return the car later. We were back around 5 pm. We used google maps to plan the drive and of course we checked it again from time to time. It was rather easy. More or less it is Hwy E 39, near Sjohold we took road 650. Near Vaksviga we turned left to the road that tooks us to Trollstigen. After the stop there we continued the drive down, to hwy 136 and turned left. . Once back in Alesund before getting i to the center you will see signs to Mt. Aksla. Also many people speak english so you can always ask for direction when in doubt. I made a photo of Google maps to give you an idea.
  23. Yes taxi or Uber are the best. Public transport is more complicated to that terminal.
