  1. Rob is right, it's Allure taken from my cruise in April.
  2. If you click the view more details button on your "upcoming cruises" page of the website, it should show it right under your room number
  3. It all depends on what you want out of a cruise. We vacation with people who constantly have to be on the move and entertained, so the larger and "amped" ships work best for them. I have 3 kids in their early teens who all play different travel sports, so all I want to do is float in a pool with a drink in my hand for a week or two when I go away without them. Longer itineraries on smaller ships work best because they are usually a much more laid back vibe, plus I love feeling like I'm on a boat looking at the water. I've spent quite a bit of time on Radiance Class ships and find them to be my sweet spot. I enjoy Freedom and Voyager Class, but wouldn't be sad if I never stepped on an Oasis Class again. Having said that, I'll be on Oasis next year with the kids.
  4. We did it in October which, by a chart I just looked up, seems to be a little warmer than February. I hate hot weather and didn't think the heat was overbearing. Definitely bring a camelback or something you can carry water in that you don't need your hands for. You will need those for the hike if they are still going the same route we took. The beginning was like a nice hike through the woods, but it gets steep and slippery after not too long. I had a blast, and would definitely do it again. One last thing i should mention, don't get your hopes up for a good look into the caldera. Again, we did it 7 years ago, so things may have changed, but it was densely wooded at the top. There were only a few small areas to look into once you were at the top.
  5. I did it, but it was back in 2015. It is a pretty strenuous hike, and if you're not in halfway decent shape, you may not enjoy it. I was running half marathons back then, and while I wasn't gassed by any means, it was not easy. My BIL is not an athlete and got it done, but would likely choose a day at the beach next time.
  6. I got crafty with google after some CC reading and found him. Top notch guy and amazing care for his clients. I hope to end up sailing with him someday. @molly361Just realized that I will be on the Voyager/Adventure Christmas cruise with you next year. I lurked on the roll call but haven't said anything.
  7. I've never had the privilege to meet this TA, but after reading posts from both of you for some time in threads like this, i'm 99% sure we are all talking about the same person. I sent an email last Sunday afternoon and got a response in under 3 minutes. While I dont ever expect that kind of responsiveness, this is the level of service that is typical of what he delivers. As long as he is working, I'll book every cruise with him.
  8. The $18 drink package was a 4th of July screw up if I remember correctly. Maybe they'll have a rerun of that, then create another pandemic to get out of honoring it. 🤣
  9. I will get out and use the bathroom, but i don't dry off. Recent cruise on Allure they had 2 guys in the bathroom all day with a mop, so it would seem that this is common practice. Peeing in the pool isn't really my thing.
  10. Out of a group of a little over 500 on FB, over 75 tested positive upon return, which is about 15%. If you think you are safe from covid on the ship, you may be fooling yourself. Enjoy your vacation, go see the sights and enjoy the stops. Staying onboard is not going to make you any safer.
  11. I got covid back in December on an airplane. Everyone wearing masks and superior air filtration. Even put me in the hospital for a week on oxygen. You can't hide from it forever, you can only hope that your symptoms are mild. I wish you a quick recovery and that you can feel more comfortable moving around when you are back on your feet.
  12. Spring break 2023 cabana prices for my sailing: Over water - $3,499 Thrill Park, Chill Island, Oasis Lagoon, South Beach - $1099 Coco Beach club - $1999
  13. Sounds like you're better off staying home. I sat in the theater, hung out in a huge group in the pool, ate in crowded restaurants on land and didn't stress about it once. If you are this uncomfortable still, maybe you should wait it out a little longer until you feel better about it.
  14. The crew appear to be wearing N95 masks that are doubled up with cloth, so I do believe that those are working to help the spread. The silly cloth and paper masks that are worn by 95% of other people are slightly better than useless. As for testing protocols, you are likely right that saying it is 100% ineffective is incorrect. I would argue though, that with how easy this virus spreads, it is more theater than it is effective.
  15. I'm glad to hear you and your family remained healthy for the cruise, but am curious to know what protocols you believe helped? Pre-cruise testing doesn't work because there is still a ton of covid onboard. Other than that, the only protocols I witnessed was the crew wearing masks. I was on Allure at the beginning of the month and of the 500+ people in a FB group for the sailing, over 75 tested positive leaving the ship from a rough count that was taken.
  16. Price for those cabana's next April is $3499
  17. 2 people I was traveling with just tested positive yesterday, which is interesting seeing as all of the other cases I've heard about have been upon disembark. DW and I haven't tested, but feel fine
  18. I was on the 8 day and the FB page for that group counted somewhere around 70 positive tests since we've returned home. For such a small sample size, that's a lot of positive tests.
