  1. 8594 and 8596 are the cabins you want for full end to end viewing. The balcony size is the same as most of the others on the ship, but the view is better than the large ones next to the elevators.
  2. Perry's show is very repetitive, but I still went just about every night of an 11 night cruise and laughed just about as hard every night. I get that it may not be for everyone, but he cracks me up.
  3. I'd go Mariner for a couple of reasons. Number 1 is that I'd take the 9 nights over 7 100% of the time if my schedule allowed, and second is that I do not enjoy the Oasis class. 2 of my last 3 cruises have been Oasis and Allure, and much like your observation, I find them to be too crowded and the layout is so focused inward and I like to see the ocean. We were on Oasis last week, and were docked next to Explorer in PDCC. I found myself staring at Explorer from the upper decks(because that's one of the only places to look outside on Oasis) wishing I could swap ships. I realize that I am in the minority here who dislike the Oasis sisters, but I'll take a Radiance ship over anything else in the fleet.
  4. I see what you are saying, and don't really have great suggestion. Say lockers are opened and cleaned out at 10PM, then locked for the evening with locker rentals(free or charge) beginning again the following morning at 7AM? You're right in that there's no room to have enough space for everyone. Maybe there would be enough to take the burden away from the pool chairs though. I really don't require a chair because I'm either in a pool, hot tub or not on the pool deck. I just need a spot to put my stuff, which is usually underneath a chair with someone elses stuff on it.
  5. With regard to the locker idea, ski areas have changed from a key lock, to a code system. Much like the safe in the cabins, enter your code that unlocks your locker for the day, then at a certain time, all lockers are cleared for the next day and all codes wiped. Seems like a simple idea to implement, and one that can't be totally taken advantage of for days on end.
  6. I've done it a couple of times and decided that getting home a few hours earlier isn't worth the stress. If the only options are 10AM or 7PM departure, that's a different story. I'll take 3PM 100 times out of 100
  7. My stress levels when traveling are too high to book a 10:00 flight out of anywhere even though it is entirely possible. We've even been back at the airport early enough for a 10:00 flight when using Royal's disembark number process, but I prefer to book the 3:00 flight and take an airboat ride in the everglades or something. Its far more relaxing than worrying about missing your flight. Your luggage goes on the excursion in the bus and gets dropped off with you at the airport.
  8. We had a 12:00 flight out of Miami in Nov. #24 debark number and were still at the airport shortly after 9:00AM, and there was fairly heavy traffic.
  9. Radiance Class is hands down my favorite and the class I've spent the most time on. We are early 40's and while we enjoy and participate in the amenities the larger ships offer, we appreciate the simplicity and elegance of the Radiance sisters.
  10. The only grape jelly i could find on Allure back in April 2022 was sugar free and i had to ask for it in the windjammer. I wasn't looking for sugar free, that is the only grape they had. Definitely ask.
  11. aft balconies on Freedom class ships have a bunch of ship superstructure in the way of your view to the water. All balconies below(corners aside) have the deck below you looking directly back into your balcony from below. The aft cabins away from the corners do get sun. The corner aft balconies are nice for sun on deck 8 and 9, but 6, 7 and 10 are either entirely or mostly covered. In your situation i'd either go with JS mid-ship or the spacious balcony. There are plenty of videos and images of most of the aft balconies on this ship. Just a quick google search should show you everything i'm talking about.
  12. I did not, but my comment was more addressing the streaming Netflix part of the comment you had quoted. I was on Allure back in April and could barely load a webpage, so whatever they are doing on Freedom is considerably better.
  13. We were on Freedom last week and were able to livestream our daughter's high school volleyball game in 4k in playmakers.
  14. I had the same thing happen. It was $62.99, then put it in the cart and price was off. Went back out to cruise planner and it shows $72.99
  15. Find a good TA who can help you arrange things in the most economically sensible way. Mine has done this a few times and saved me a bunch.
  16. More randomly than running into repeat cruisers, which we have, I've had pretty strange chance encounter with someone i'd known long way back. DW and I boarded Liberty years ago and after checking into the room, I went to the bar to grab a drink. Started talking with a couple next to me to find out she was a little girl, probably 10-12 years younger than me, that lived 5 houses down from from me growing up.
  17. We sail Freedom Friday and fly in that morning. Its the first time in 9 years I decided to fly in the day of, but i'm not sure we would have been able to get there any earlier. Hopefully the airports are up and running smoothly again by then. Seems the storm should be pretty far north by then. I have bought insurance for every cruise i've booked and this may be the first time i need it.
  18. While i am not interested in the waterpark or family areas, i think all of the things they did with the pools are great, and the lounge at the top of the Pearl is what I think is missing on Oasis class ships. I love interior venues with outward views. The pearl itself is one of the biggest let downs on this entire ship. So much was made about what amounts to a staircase. The boardwalk area looks like a cheesy aisle at toys r us though. They really are going way overboard with the bright colors.
  19. Another vote for Aruba Trikes. We've done it twice and loved it both times. The trikes have seen better days but they got hit hard by the COVID shutdown. The people are fantastic as well as the tour of the island.
  20. This will help narrow it down. The pic was taken in 2015, so pre-amped, but she still hasn't been.
