  1. Exactly...and if no cabins are available for choosing they may assign you a GUARANTEED cabin. Which was my point from a hundred posts earlier. It's not rocket science...or even cruise ship science. Although @RocketMan275 might disagree 😁
  2. You're assuming there are ten (or any) left. If not, you're most likely getting a guarantee. My point was availability is already scarce 18 months out. If you want to play cabin roulette and hope there's a cabin that will be available (and suitable) at the last minute...good luck. Go for it...
  3. Deposits on NCL are $250. Not sure I've ever seen $100...at least not in the recent past. As for the $500 value of Cruise First...this was exactly our situation. We bought a Cruise First during the Double Up promotion...paid $250 and we were given a $500 certificate. We booked a cruise that had a $250 deposit and the excess $250 was credited to our final balance. Not a problem.
  4. I'm seeing a 3:45 departure time for the July 3 cruise on the Escape.
  5. So...I've always wondered, is this two bottles for embarkation only? If not, what stops you (or me) from bringing on two bottles at every port stop? How would they track it? Having said that, we would never sail without the alcohol package, so bringing wine onboard is really unnecessary (unless you're a wine snob and want good stuff).
  6. "What time is it?" "Ten minutes to always" "Cool...just 10 more minutes until pizza"
  7. Waiting until the last minute will not get you a very good choice of cabin. Most likely a guarantee, on which case you have no choice. We're looking at early 2026 cruises (not on NCL) and already the majority of them have very slim pickings left...and it's still 18 months out.
  8. I read that too fast and thought you said chicken area. That would be necessary if someone brought a support rooster onboard.
  9. We need a picture of @graphicguy, @debenson0723 and @Sugar Magnolia enjoying sail away together. That is assuming the latter actually makes it on the ship.
  10. Jasmine was our favorite free restaurant on the Jade. Glad the Joy has its sister restaurant, Lotus, since we'll be on her in February. I see lots of spring rolls and tapioca coconut pudding in my future (assuming they have the same menu).
  11. Yet another "Seinfeld" quote. Yes, I realize this was from six pages ago, but I like to live in the past,
  12. Into my head popped a picture of @graphicguywith one of the gigantic pier ropes wrapped around him, holding on for deal life...
  13. There's also a place called Craft Barcelona. Although, when we were there, it wasn't all that great. Minimal beer choices. I think you made a better choice. Oh...how did you manage to get all that legroom in standard economy? Do you have connections at the airline...was the pilot your brother...or...??
  14. I'll also have bloodshot eyes. Unfortunately I won't be on a cruise.
  15. NCL and Princess use ID Me to verify your military service. You submit your info one time to that site and you're done. On my account on NCL it shows "Military" on my account and any cruise I book automatically applies a 10% discount. As a Veteran, my status will never change...I will always be a Veteran. To have to submit stuff every time is BoguS.
  16. We're doing that 15 day one. We did the opposite route (Miami to LA) in 2019 on the Bliss. It may come down to which departure city has better flights. We were able to get a great flight to LA vs. to Panama. Plus, we like longer cruises, so the 15 day was an easy choice. Plus, we recently got back from a cruise to Aruba, Curacao and Puerto Plata. YMMV...and probably will.
  17. That's nice...but I specifically was referring to 14 day (or more) cruises. For us, anything less than that is hardly worth it, since the time goes by so quickly.
  18. Unless diet orange is specifically "required" for your health, I don't see it happening. Especially since diet soda (of any flavor) is not healthy for anyone. As far as not liking Diet Coke, that's not a legitimate reason...that's a preference. I don't like Bud Light, but they won't allow me to bring on my own REAL beer.
  19. Website works just fine for booking restaurants. I never use the app for anything.
  20. I know all about the InterWebs...and also "morans", by the way. Just giving you poop. I post regularly on the Milwaukee Brewers fan site and every time another team has a game rained out, someone will say, "Build a roof, you morans". It's become a running joke for stupid teams that don't have a roof.
  21. I'm talking about looking at ice and snow in July (or any other month). I see enough of that stuff in the winter. I don't need to see it in summer.
