  1. Interesting how this topic started out about Bailey's and eight pages later, has devolved into real estate taxes and all sorts of other stuff. Telephone, anybody? Speaking of Bailey's (which was the original topic, remember?) I just got back from the store looking for Bailey's Light for my wife. They're completely sold out. She won't be happy. Okay, back to the real estate (and other stuff) discussion...
  2. Just checked in for our upcoming cruise and NCL asked for a credit card for onboard expenses, as was expected. The card i used is the NCL credit card, which gives extra points for NCL expenses. I rarely use this card for anything else. I would prefer to not have to bring the card on our trip, since it's one less card to worry about. Does NCL require you to produce the physical card at any time, or is just having the card registered sufficient?
  3. Did people get COVID on recent cruises? Yep Do people get COVID in restaurants? Yep. Do people get COVID on airplanes? Yep. Do people get COVID in grocery stores? Yep. Do people get COVID in church? Yep. Do people get COVID in schools? Yep. I realize CC is a cruise-focused website, but COVID can rear its ugly head anywhere. Life is a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Live your life and don't live it in fear. I'll now go crawl back under my rock (where I'll probably get COVID).
  4. The site referenced above was my go-to for booking until I found a great PCC at NCL. Having said that, I've noticed that the above site never has more than 15 cabins show up as available in any category. This leads you to believe that only 15 are available, while, in reality there could be many, many more.
  5. That's one pathetic beer list. Thank heavens for the District Brewhouse (if your ship has one).
  6. Then you should have had our PCC. After final payment we asked him to change our cabin twice. He did it immediately. He also got us a $1200 FCC due to the price drop after final payment. Friends of ours who have used him for a long time refer to him as the GOAT. We do, too now...
  7. We just changed our cabin this morning for our Nov 1st TA (see you onboard). I'm hoping our luggage tags aren't in the mail, since our luggage will end up at the wrong cabin. When do you get notified that tags are ready to be printed?
  8. Contacted our PCC about the price drop after final payment. He submitted the form on Monday, the 19th and we received an email notification of our $1200 FCC on Friday, the 23rd.
  9. I think our Nov 1st Escape TA will be at less than 50%. Transatlantics always have fewer passengers, since not a lot of people can take off for three weeks at a time...students, people working, etc. I have my fingers crossed (which makes typing even more difficult)...
  10. Does your goldfish come when you call him by his new name?
  11. Ours still says mini-golf for our November 1st TA. Hoping for bocce, though keeping the balls from rolling all over the place on rough seas could be a challenge.
  12. We have $1200 in FCC in our account. Can we use the FCC if booking with a TA, or do we need to book with NCL directly to get the credit applied?
  13. You have to call the shore excursions desk and they will credit the original form of payment. We did this three times for our November cruise. Don't have the number handy but it is on NCL's website.
  14. When they dropped Bermuda from our Nov 1st TA it took several days to see the changed itinerary on their site and on our reservation.
  15. Wouldn't you think NCL would simply take any unopened water and give it to another cabin on the next sailing? Something tells me they're not going to toss them.
  16. This has been a hot subject on CC for as long as I can recall (almost 20 years). I have never found a fool-proof method.
  17. That doesn't always work. I have done a mock booking every day this week to see if the price of our Nov 1 TA has dropped. When trying to book a balcony, nothing comes up except "guarantee" cabins. You might think that there are no other balconies available. Not so. I did an online chat with NCL and she told me there are plenty of balconies available, but you have to call to book.
  18. Not true. In a communication sent to passengers on our TA, this was included. • ** Approximate cost per Covid-19 Antigen test is $95. Approximate cost per PCR is $199. This cost may vary and is the responsibility of the guest. We will share guests’ test results in the Bermuda Maritime Declaration and those guests with a negative result will be able to go ashore.
  19. Regarding paying at the time of reservation (from some posts above)... We are doing a shared ride from Rome to the port with Rome Cabs in November. The person who booked the trip on behalf of the rest of us says he was told we can all pay the driver with a credit card. I'm hoping this still holds. I should add that we're also doing a tour of Rome with them the day before going to the port and my confirmation says we can pay the driver with a credit card.
  20. Shooting themselves in the foot. Good to see the good people of Bermuda pushing back. But like they say, too little, too late. If they would drop the inane fee and form (have to pay the fee and complete the form regardless if you stay on the ship) and testing requirements, I would welcome our November TA reverting back to Bermuda. However, it appears that bridge has been crossed. I don't have a huge problem with the two-day before disembarkation testing requirement, but making the entire ship be tested at embarkation in Rome (when no other NCL Rome departures require testing...and three weeks before landing in Bermuda) is nuts.
  21. The simple answer is yes...and no. (I know, not too helpful). Depends where you are departing from and where you're going. The best thing to do is what @ColeThorntonadvised.
  22. I'm imagining that our November TA will be about half full. Also imagining not having to line up at bars for drinks. No problem.
  23. With up to 4,000 people on the ship, if there is somebody who can remember what everyone has worn the previous days, that person is probably the same person who could memorize all the names in a phone book. Oh wait...phone book? Showing my age...
  24. Our PCC told us you can only get the FCC applied once after final payment. So it may be better to wait a little longer to see if it goes down even more.
