  1. Thank you, for your posts. We are in the Canary Islands on Azura in January so am finding it interesting to read about your visits to the various islands. We tried the Silk and Spice wine when on Azura last May and can say we also enjoyed it. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  2. Bright sunny, mild (12c) but still windy down here with a yellow weather warning for rain later. Got a Tesco delivery for this evening. It was originally booked for tomorrow morning but as the end of our road will be closed for a Rememberance Sunday Service I changed it. Other than that I've nothing planned for today. Hope you all have a good weekend.
  3. Oh no, what unfortunate timing (although something like that is never good) as if you haven't got enough on your plate already! I hope he isn't in too much pain and it heals well. Wishing you well and take care. Pam
  4. Still windy here, but we have got some sunshine interspirsed with the odd torrential shower. The wind is making it feel chilly though.
  5. Morning everyone, My daughter woke about 3 this morning and said it was all calm. I was woken at about 4 with the wind battering my bedroom windows and it's still seems as strong. There are reports of lots of trees down round about too. Sorry to hear about your niece @Josy1953 Stay safe everyone.
  6. It's pretty wet and windy out down here. I have just read tha Spirit of Adventure is sheltering in Falmouth.
  7. It's sounding very wild out! The rain is battering the windows and the wind's strengthening, just glad we're not out in it. There are no trains running this week or next, due to engineering works, so there's replacement buses running. My son and daughter just managed to catch the last bus home from Truro as all the others have been cancelled due to the weather, with none likely to be running tomorrow either until about mid-day. So it looks like neither of them will be in work tomorrow. Stay safe and keep warm everyone.
  8. Morning everyone, hope you are all well. Windy but dry here at present. Need to take a trip over to Asda, but other than that I'm not venturing out. Plan on having a baking and jam making day, as have lots of apples and raspberries to use. Stay safe.
  9. Don't normally get trick or treaters here, although since last year we have had a family with children move in next door but one. I have got some sweets in, just in case, but the lights are turned off so it looks as though nobody's home!
  10. I feel your pain. In May I went into Penzance ticket office to buy tickets to Southampton for the 13th May just after the dates for the strikes had been announced (for the 12th and 13th) and asked if GWR would be affected by the strikes and was told "No you will be fine to travel." I ended up paying my daughter for petrol and a hotel as she drove us up, as we couldn't get up any other way.
  11. Hope the seas calm down for you and your wife feels better too.
  12. On the panna cotta debate, I hate the texture of them. On Britannia last month there was chocolate cheesecake on the menu, which I asked for until the waiter told me it wasn't like a proper cheesecake? A little later he showed us what it was - the only way to describe it was as a chocolate panna cottaπŸ˜•
  13. It's not the oven clock that I find difficult to change it's the clock in the car!
  14. Happy Birthday to @Presto2 and @brian1 Hope you both have a great day.
  15. Morning all, Did everyone remember to alter their clocks? How do you alter your body clock, though? I've been awake since 5 am this morning. It's still fairly mild, weather wise at 12c, but rain is forecast again. I know we need it as our reserviors are still low, but enough is enough! Enjoy your Sunday.
  16. We fly out to join Azura in January, from Bristol with Jet2, but glad to read that security wasn't a hassle. It is surprising how different airports have different rules!
  17. Thank you for your review. It was interesting to read and have a safe journey home.
  18. Hope you both have a great cruises and look forward to reading all about them. Happy Sailing.
  19. A nice bright sunny day here at present, but rain is forecast again for later. We were eating our meal the night before last and was suddenly plunged into darkness as we had a power cut. Went to put on the dishwasher last night and it was displaying a foreign language, Russian I think πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ After paying a visit to Mr Google it is now back to English!😊 Happy Birthday to both Graham and Splice the Mainbrace. Hope you both have a great day. bday-416 (1).mp4
  20. When I booked in online and registered my credit card, a debit of Β£1 was actioned to check the validity of the card.
  21. A bright sunny day down here too, but chilly. I'm sure things will improve. Don't give up keep positive
  22. Just a word of warning regarding train tickets. You may want to get tickets that can be used on a different train to the one you may have booked on. We didn't arrive into Southampton until 10 am when on Britannia in September due to bad weather, therefore disembarkation didn't start until about 11 am. Luckily we weren't affected as we had travelled up by road.
