  1. We did the East End Tour with them back in May. Everything went as smooth as silk. Good guide, nice vehicle. Back to the port with plenty of time. I like that you can customize your tours. Will definitely use them again.
  2. We're old, we are talking 70s, but have been known to stay onboard when in port just to hit the water slides. After doing 21 cruises we have a list of ports that we don't need to see again. That is when the SPLASH Party begins.
  3. We have been to Roatan four times. I must agree with Gladys about the taxi mob at Coxen Hole. We turned around and got back on the ship on our third trip. We were back this last May and I had booked a tour with Victor Bodden. Best Roatan Tour yet. This was a customized tour, inexpensive, great guide and no hassle. This will be our Roatan norm from now on.
  4. We did the Chocchoben Tour with NativeChoice last May. The Misses and I are in our 70's and our daughters 48 and 50. We had no problems walking to the meeting place and everything went smooth. Our tour group was only 11 people and both our guide and driver were great. I will definitely use them again.
  5. Check out Victor Bodden or Roni's Tours. Both have been in business for many years and have good reviews. Both are affordable and can offer customized tours.
  6. The best advice that I have was related to me on these boards about 20 years ago. Take half of the clothes that you think you need and twice as much money. Still true today.😉
  7. Then they would have to learn to fry venison and bake buttermilk biscuits.
  8. We were on deck 8 with promenade view. Much prefer that to a window on any deck, but we have only done it twice on RCI. We have no problem with a inside cabin on deck 2 if the prom view isn't available.
  9. The only time that we book through the cruiseline is when we want a tour that is a long distance from the ship or go to a port that is not one of our favorites. I won't mention names, but the initials are Jamaica.
  10. I guess that I am the oddball. I would love to see a shark. They have a tour at Stewarts Cove but it was a good distance from Nassau and we were pressed for time.
  11. My pick would be Nachi for a laid back day, but you need to reserve it now. Paradise and Chankanaab are nice but usually have a lot going on.
  12. We are just like Guest 2000. We have been on 21 cruises from the windward islands to Honduras and most points in between. Snorkeled probably 80 times and have never seen a shark anywhere. We have seen barracuda, octopus, huge black grouper, moray eel, and cuttle fish, but no sharks Even considered taking a shark tour in the Bahamas, but it was too far from the ship to suit us.
  13. You might look at Discount Cruise Parking. We used them last May. Cheaper than most of the closer lots, plus they have a shuttle to and from the port. Good service. I will use them again.
  14. We have been there twice this year and didn't see any transportation on the pier.
  15. No need to over think it. One of the biggest mistakes that I see others make is trying to do too much. They book two tours in each port and run themselves ragged. This is a vacation. relax and enjoy. You can see what you missed the next cruise to that itinerary. We have a tendence to stay on the ship in ports that we have been to several times.
  16. There are several decent resorts with day passes that are not too expensive. The water at Progreso is not the gin clear water that you see at Coz, plus, the wind always blows there. A resort with a nice pool and AI should fit your needs.
  17. Good advice. You can also check out cozumelmycozumel.com. For most newbies I recommend Chankanaab Park, especially when with teens. Decent snorkeling there, too. I think that Cozumelinsider has coupons for $2 off. We usually just grab a cab. We did a tour with Capt. Marvins several years ago. Did the Sting Ray City, reef snorkel and a trip to Rum Point. I could live at Rum Point.
  18. Sorry for being so slow about food prices at Chank. We spent a whole day there, had a few drinks, fajitas for two, and the total bill was about $40 including the tip for our server. We ate on the beach and Edwardo took good care of us. Our daughters had massages and were impressed. They recommended them wholeheartedly.
  19. The shows are usually 7:00 and 9:00P.M. Don't miss the Ice Show.
  20. It was for 4 of us. It broke down to $30@, plus the Mangrove boat tour and private beach club. We stopped at Snapper's for fried conch and shrimp. Our guide, Kelvin, was very informative and stopped at several places for photos. It was different than the crowded west end, but was a pretty good tour.
  21. Check out Roni's Tours or Victor Bodden. They have custom tours that are reasonable. We did an Eastern Island tour with Bodden that had several stops for $60@ plus tips.
  22. I would like to add to C-leg's post. Not only is it a long walk to the port, but it is a pretty good hike outside of the port if you book with Native Choice. Not a good choice if anyone has mobility problems. I had a tour to Maya Chan back in February and canceled because of the grass problem. I will definitely book again when in Costa Maya.
