Wearing regular mask may not be enough. My wife and I got off an Alaska cruse last Sunday. DW began feeling unwell starting this Tuesday. Sore throat, slight cough, stuffy nose. She used the blue regular mask during the cruise. I wore mostly N95 every time I stepped outside my cabin. So far, I remain negative and have zero COVID symptom. Stick with N95 mask.

Same here. Got the last one but not this time. Kind of bummed since I have a final payment coming up this Friday.

Before lock down, house wine on US cruises was La Terre from California. Obviously not a premium wine but it is still drinkable if you don't want to pay extra.

Be careful if you book NRD. One time, my cruse price dropped before final payment but a nasty RCCL agent decided to play hardball and refused to price adjust given it was NRD which means I could not cancel and rebook unless I paid a $200 penalty. I waited for a few days and tried again. Luckily this time I got a very resonable agent and she repriced the cruise for me without giving me any hassle.

Not if you picked the shorter of the two lines thinking it would be faster but it actually turned out to be the opposite.

Part of the problems is that some people would order an extra bowl of Mongolian stir fry for whoever he/she was with instead of just for himself/herself. So the wait time suddenly becomes twice as long.

Not to mention they misread the China market which turned out to be less profitable than originally anticipated.

I concur with the inflation part. Comparing to prices earlier this year, cruise, airfare and hotel room rates have all gone up in 2023 and 2024. I am now holding back and taking a wait and see approach on my future cruise bookings.

My low bid also expired this morning. Sailing is for this Sunday. When I checked, there are still 6 cabins available which begs the question. Why would X prefer to sail with those cabins empty than making more money by accepting my bid. Just don't get it.

Nothing to do with mask compliance. It has to do with local government choosing to administer subpar vacinne to its population for political reason.

An electronic device may be worthless or outdated. Still, some thieves don't know that or just don't care. Take first and if so, throw it in the trash or overboard.

I am sure there are blind spots where security cameras can't see around the ship. Professional thieves probably know where they are.

A few years ago, there was a case where two thieves stole someone's luggage left outside the door for pick up on last sea day, took whatever they deemed valuable and threw the suitcase overboard. Luckily, they were caught by ship camera and arrested. Don't be complacent. Thieves are everywhere.

No to NRD. A lot can happen between now and 2024. Too unpredictable.
