  1. Havana on the Vista Class is well worth it. The area at the back of the ship is fantastic. On Excel Class, the area was moved to the side and is much smaller. Not sure I'd trade a balcony for it in that case.
  2. We love the Havana insides. Yes, depending on your specific location, you may hear some noise from the band. It's not terrible, and stops just about midnight. We've never found it to be bad.
  3. The Spaghetti Carbonara in MDR. Grand Marnier Soufflé Cake buffet at lunch Amazing salads on the buffet not the ones you make, but the premade ones Margherita Pizza Guy's Ringer burger
  4. We purchased a diamond eternity ring on the Horizon last year. Git it on night one when all diamonds were 50% off. Great deal!
  5. We are booked for the Jan. 3 sailing. Total cost for an inside on Deck 10 was just over $600. It's actually costing us more to fly to MIA than the cruise itself. I'm now watching for upgrade offers...none yet!
  6. It's a total pain when stuff is contradictory. I'd say just do the test. That way you are covered if there is a need. The BiNax proctored tests are super easy and convenient. Bermuda is gorgeous!
  7. You may want to shop while onboard. That of course is strictly up to you, but your account would cover that as well. You may decide to take an excursion. In your case, I'd think s $300 buffer would cover anything unrelated to what you've already paid, and if it's a cash account you can always add additional funds if you find you need them.
  8. There typically aren't exceptions on that. But you will most definitely save money not getting it for one person who cannot drink. Simply pay "out of pocket" for your drinks.
  9. You'd have to choose My Time for your only option. If they've assigned you to late, My Time slots may be filled, or waitlisted You can always log in to your planner and see if you are able to switch from there.
  10. If you sail from anywhere in the US, the tax only gets charged on your embarkation day I believe.
  11. If you can walk to the Lido to get hot water, then you can get coffee. Problem solved.
  12. Ummm. I DID read your post and you mention NOTHING about Carnival, only TSA.
  13. Someone posted to John Heald (perhaps the OP's spouse?) and utterly flamed him for NOT allowing the blender onboard. Ridiculous entitlement.
  14. TSA rules and Carnival's are two very different things.
  15. Solo cruising is great. You can do whatever you want without having to worry about someone else's preferences. And as others have said, you can do regular dining, where they will assign you to a table, or YTD where you can dine alone. I've done both. The one time I did regular dining, our table was full of other solo cruisers and we had a great time. Don't be afraid to do excursions. There are always other folks you can hang with. I once did a Key West walking tour, and the group was so much fun we ended up hanging out after the excursion finished. Take lots of books to read and enjoy yourself!
  16. Divide the full amount by the number of months until your final payment date. Then simply pay that amount on a day you set each month. I have a reminder set on my phone for my trips and it's easy that way. No fuss, no interest. Carnival also does this with their Easy Pay Option, but they will not accept a debit card now. (They used to).
  17. We did this run in October in a Havana Inside. One of the best trips we have ever taken. We love the Horizon.
  18. Just gotta say...I really LOVE all of these passive aggressive ways to pay back noisy neighbors. You all are my kind of people! 😊
  19. The testing requirement you reference is for air travel back to the US. It has nothing to do with pre-cruise testing. I doubt cruises will drop their pretesting any time soon.
  20. I really enjoy the salads each day. Not the "make your own" salad bar, but the ones on the buffet itself. And we LOVE the cake!
  21. It all depends on the length of your cruise. In addition, your final payment date was clear at booking. It is still clear any time you log on to make another payment. It is clear on the app. It's on you to comply with their requirements or risk losing your trip and anything you paid for it. Whether you like the requirements or agree with them is irrelevant.
  22. That's a yes and no answer. Havana is totally worth the splurge. Getting the dedicated (and largely kid-free) area is fantastic. Love the pool and bar, and you can always find a place to sit. Would I pay for the Cabana when I can get the same benefits in a Havana Inside? Nope.
  23. In my interpretation, the small percentage of unvaxxed gusts is really for the children who cannot get shots. If an adult has a medical reason and can document that, they may also receive an exemption. Not wanting to get vaxxed isn't a valid reason to give an exemption. You can certainly have your friends apply, but I'd err on the side of NOT receiving the exemption.
  24. Sailed on her in January. No real issues from my perspective. Good food, entertainment, and ports.
