  1. I am more familiar with another cruise line that almost always has "sales" on shore excursions in the months leading up to a cruise. I am just wondering if Princess ever has times where the cruise planner shows any discounted excursion prices? Thanks for any info....
  2. I can't tell you for sure if there was an actual grill they were serving from because that was never what I was really looking for, but I did pick up some of those grilled meats from a serving tray one day at lunch time...with rice and potato.
  3. Still off the main topic LOL, but back to the food.... Nov 19-26 Millie out of SJ.... We love the itineraries out of San Juan.....We didn't eat in the buffet a lot other than breakfast every day, a couple lunches and one dinner. I had fresh baguette with smoked salmon, cucumber, cream cheese, fresh fruit every morning....and made to order eggs Benedict 3 mornings- at the buffet. At lunch one or two days, we had grilled chicken, pork, fish, make your own sandwich with ham/cheese/etc,; pizza...and we often just added a bit of finger food/salad items to a burger from the Mast Grill by the pool - which were very good and made to order. We enjoyed the Mexican food station with beef or chicken fajita grill and the ingredients to make your own taco/fajita...nachos, chill, cheese, etc....My husband had bacon, eggs, hash browns, roasted potato, sausage, fruit most days for breakfast. There were stations for made to order eggs and omelettes. French toast, waffles, pancakes.... We also had no issues with the lovely meals at the Main Dining Room....
  4. We sailed on Millennium Nov 19-26 out of SJ. We like sailing out of SJ. You get to the more Southern Caribbean without a bunch of extra sea days.... And we enjoy spending time in OSJ. We found the food on Millie just fine. I agree there seemed to be some "extra" odd food stations at the buffet that didn't seem to get touched too much, but we had no trouble finding food choices we liked at all our meals. I do wonder why they shove all the main food stations way down at the back of the buffet, though. Everything seems to get congested this way. We decided to opt out of Tuscan Grille - the price (especially when converted to our CAD dollar) seemed a bit over the top for us...when we enjoy the MDR anyway. Sometimes, I wonder if it's the foods people choose too - and the regions where many of the guests are from (depending which foods get cleared out more quickly). We had a very large Spanish percentage out of SJ on our cruise. Thankfully, the bread and Cafe El Bacio are still pretty much the same as well! 🙂❤️
  5. we enjoyed our visit there last week. The whole place is quite "tatty" but it checked all our boxes... bucket of beer was cheap; I did find their food prices pretty "touristy" though for as "local" the spot is. I'm assuming they have a different price list for the locals. Washrooms were rustic but fine and flushing. A massage on the beach was 40US per half hour which I also found extremely touristy for the surroundings. lovely though. (much cheaper than a high end spot though) The taxi was also extremely expensive for the short distance from the port IMO. We should have looked for the "shared" transportation but it was a madhouse when we got off so we took a private ride.
  6. We are considering heading this way next week. Is it safe to say that if a taxi driver says they will return for us near a certain time that they will? That's my only concern really. And I see in new reviews that Shipwreck has some "real" toilets now.... maybe we'll see soon LOL.
  7. We did that exact itinerary in Nov 2019 on the Summit - it was a great cruise. Feel free to ask me any port questions if you wish.... Barbados was (and will be again soon) definitely a beach spot for us as you can even walk to the beach from the ship if you wish - and it's gorgeous as the OP has attested to!
  8. isn't that interesting because that was my opinion as well. We'll see what our days brings in a couple weeks lol.
  9. We adored Barbados in Nov 2019 - pics almost exactly the same as yours. We actually walked from the ship - it's really not very far. I love ports where you can just walk off and enjoy your day :) There was a place at the very beginning of the beach I think called the Boatyard where we rented chairs and an umbrella. It was such a stunning, easy day. (From what I'm hearing, that place is closed, but there are others along the same beach)
  10. Following along...we do the same cruise later this month! We stayed at the 352 Guest House in Old San Juan Pre Covid when we did a similar cruise on Summit. Loved that experience and can't wait for the next one! Just curious who the captain and Cruise Director are on Millennium currently? Thanks!
  11. whatsinport dot com was always a good one in the past.
  12. thanks for the tips - I checked our national site....says to call an agent LOL...of course! I have never had good luck with Canadian sites. I even originally priced this same cruise with a Princess agent and a reliable US site, and to get all the perks, it was the higher price in USD. My own TA said to get the lower price, she had to price the Resident Rate with Princess Plus....but if she booked the Love Boat Rate, it made the price higher in USD. And she has the codes. I keep wondering if there's any chance the Exc. Credit will be added by Princess at a later date and just doesn't show on the bookings???....BTW, this cruise is several months out to final payment, so I, too, will be watching for the November deals for repricing.
  13. I haven't had much luck with any Canadian TA's in the past. This new one, who can book both US or CAD has been my best bet LOL...Most of my local CAD companies don't honor any of the Cruiseline Promos - just not enough experience around here. I have always booked with US companies in the past from US websites. - and have had good luck with Celebrity. Looking back, it probably would have been easier just to book directly with Princess - but there were various issues involved that made it easier to use a TA
  14. My Ta has been on the phone countless times with Princess, and they keep telling her she has to book a different "rate" to get the extra $100 Excursion credit added with the Love Boat Sale. On the Princess Canadian site (which is all I can see on my computer and devices), it CLEARLY says on the main page the promo includes Princess Plus and the $100 PP Excursion Credit. She has done our bookings for us in USD for various reasons, and in this case to get the equivalent of the advertised CAD price, they will not include the extra credit. To change the "rate", it bumps the price up higher than the excursion value. Does anyone else have any info or suggestions in this situation. It seems to be the difference in her booking them in US rather than the CAD that I can see online. Just curious.... I, also, tried to call Princess this week with a registration question (one of the questions is again to do with the fact that I'm in Canada and am trying to register a US citizen and it doesn't give me the option anywhere on the website registration to put a US address), and although I didn't have to wait long to be answered, the person was impatient and not at all eager to try to help me. And I have searched high and low online trying to figure it out myself with no luck. It just says to call them. I, and my TA are Celebrity regulars, so it's been kind of a disappointing, stressful week trying to get 3 different couples booked with Princess...I am just trying to help.
  15. My hubby always wears dress pants and a nice short sleeve button up shirt. On Chic Night, he wore a dress shirt and tie and dress pants.... He looks nice all evenings - and not out of place. I always wear a dressy top/pants or skirt or a dress. We enjoy "dressing up" a bit in the evening. We don't mind that Chic night isn't quite as "fancy" as it used to be because it's much easier packing LOL - although I love seeing the people REALLY dressed up too :)
  16. There was a cheese one with raspberry preserve and I think rolled in nuts or breading on a skewer that was really good a few years ago!
  17. Millennium shows Prime Rib next month on our sailing...so far anyway.
  18. I, too, have been researching what do do in St. Kitt's from a cruise. I find this forum quite interesting and can see the "issues" with 1 day tourists who may or may not respect the area. I am not in the "T'erd" class but do like do find something interesting to do in the ports for a few hours. I had been looking at Palm Courts as something near the port for a more "relaxing" and unhurried day after walking thru the port area a bit. I also have looked at the Marriott resort pass, but as someone who frequents AI resorts other times of the year, that really doesn't interest me much. The locality and lovely looking view of the cruise ship area seems ideal to me at Palm Courts. Any input on the food/drink pricing at there in recent months? What I've seen online seems quite "touristy".
  19. We used Uber in San Juan with no problem; we also did the half day in the town on departure day where they took our luggage for us with no issues
  20. Yes, my parents got the same note today. :)
