  1. In the recent nightmares with luggage, I wouldn't chance it lol. I have had Transat measure carryons in the past, and I've had them measured and weighed in Europe in the past. Also, I agree about Newark - especially in winter - south season.... and we avoid it at all costs lol! We couldn't even get in the main doors to even begin to see where we needed to go to check in or get to security - absolute chaos and people being herded and yelled at like cattle - not a good experience on at least 2 visits there in winter. I'm sure it has its moments like any other airport though.
  2. Try Americano with an extra espresso shot at cafe el bacio.
  3. this code makes a big difference on some of the cruises this fall....not sure about 2023 but worth checking it out...you put the code in on the page where you enter the number of guests in the cabin....
  4. It's true - further out prices are quite high currently; but keep at it - eventually, you may see some better pricing. I find the big "sales" tend to see higher pricing with perks, but if you keep watching when the sales aren't so prevalent, sometimes, there are some great buys. Also, it's often a much better deal, booking with a TA; more perks are often offered, even if the price is near the same. I've got some great deals in October/early Nov and late April/May in the past - when there weren't any big sales on.
  5. This code makes a huge difference on the website for our November Millennium cruise out of San Juan. It drops the price for 2 by over $800! We booked it with a TA months ago at a really great deal that was still cheaper, but check it out; it may be worth your while!
  6. I am curious as well as I've seen no recent talk about this for either port. Are we going to be allowed to venture off the ships on our own in St Lucia and Barbados in November? I keep watching for updates....
  7. thanks for the info - I will check out London Walks for sure...unfortunately, their Cotswolds day doesn't fall during my days there, but I see they have lots of other options too.
  8. I am actually doing a few days in London without a cruise, but I've been wondering if anyone knows of any part days tours from the Heathrow area. I'm flying in at night and have considered staying out there my first night and wondered about doing a bit of siteseeing before I head in to London. Just curious - I've been looking online and don't really see much offered.
  9. I had a similar situation with westjet, and a few weeks later I could log on and select seats. It just took some time.
  10. On the M class ships, the 2C balcony cabins 6016-6030 and 6031/33/35 (the front 8 in 2C on both sides of ship) have extra deep balconies. I've been in them on Constellation and Summit - both were great. -in case you didn't know this tidbit and decide on a regular balcony.
  11. Our TA booked one of our flights for our November San Juan cruise. Celebrity has had good discounts on the prices that's for sure....and there's the advantage of being able to cancel until final payment.
  12. We've never had an issue staying in the "classic" package with our drinks. Occasionally, if you want something that's more expensive, you just pay the difference if they choose to charge you. We always just imply..."whatever works for the Classic"...and they will usually make something that is covered. The bartenders typically will work with you. Sometimes, there are higher end drinks and wine that are higher priced...and the martini bar, etc.
  13. sorry....I really wasn't sure but I do like the search features.... I will see if I can delete. (I can't, so I guess I will get detention...oops.
  14. LOVE!LOVE!LOVE! Thanks so much! I did Paris with my Senior Mom in 2019 - 5 days just exploring, walking many parts of the city, museums, churches, awesome restaurants, siteseeing....loved getting "off the beaten path", a few "free walking tours", etc.... I know how much time the research and planning takes, and the wonderful feeling when you actually get to "act it all out" lol. I look forward to doing the same in some of Northern Europe and the UK as well someday (hopefully soon)!
  15. Having only cruised on Celebrity ships, I had no idea there was still smoking in casinos on any cruises! In this day and age, this blows my mind that it is permissible at all. - very surprised to read this in recent months while looking at a couple different cruiselines.
  16. Exactly our previous experiences...never been an issue at all. - glad you enjoyed!
  17. I have done several Free Walking Tours in several cities in the past...they have been a great way to see the cities - and you "pay" what you think is fair at the end. I find you see/learn so much more exploring on foot. We have always had good experiences with them.
  18. yes, unfortunately, I don't think anything has changed for cruise ship passengers. They have suspended the chance of being randomly tested at airports is all that I've seen recently announced. Canada dropped mandatory testing for airport arrivals on April 1st. (unless I'm missing something - which is quite possible lol) https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise
  19. Same...if I get it (I'm to the point I say, "when I get it" LOl), I plan on trying to get the the booked PCR as well- but I'm hearing it's hard to get the appts now unless you are medical, etc.
  20. I can’t imagine our actual numbers in Nova Scotia right now. Because the ones they report don’t include a huge percentage of people that actually have Covid because there is so little government testing now. And as mentioned, we went very unscathed for two years and then this winter everything just went crazy. I would guess where we live in Digby nearly 50% of the population have actually had it judging by the ratios of the people I know- and we own a prominent larger business with many employees right in the town. Right when it started to get rampant here, they ended the mask mandate, and that is mostly when it began spreading so quickly. Surely goodness we should be on the downside soon if we aren’t already
  21. I can't sign in on my older Mac laptop either... incognito or not.... but no issues on my iphone or ipad. Very annoying.
  22. I guess I'm old and anal lol...always the first few hours after arriving home from a trip, the easy- throw in the dryer stuff goes in the washer....the fussier drying stuff a day or two later lol.... I truly hope you are on the mend and covid is on its way away from you and your family.
  23. Great news for US travellers wanting to venture elsewhere! -It really makes a big difference on cruise planning for sure!
