  1. Thank you for those replies. DH tested positive last week for Covid so wondering where we stand if I come down with it. Fingers crossed. Have travel insurance.
  2. We are also on the same cruise. On the Travel Summary just above the Itinerary it says boarding begins at 12.00pm though I did see elsewhere 12.30. No personally allocated boarding times on Princess these days, open slather.
  3. Is there a current health screening when boarding Princess? What are their protocols re Covid and cancellation and refunds. I am having difficulty trying to find this information. Thank you.
  4. I think this is mostly used for cruises from US whereby they have arrangements with some shops in ports so that purchases made in store are added to your on board account. I don't think it operates here.
  5. Have downloaded the new app and found our information transferred ok for cruise mid Jan but baulked at supplying a credit card number for "shoreside" purchases. Has anybody got around this or did you just supply a number.
  6. We are cruising mid January on standard fare booked in August. We have not received any emails re this $25 OBC. Wondering if we are eligible for this OBC.
  7. Have a friend booked on the Luminosa cruise and he has said they are now going to Sydney with $100 OBC.
  8. When we were there last year on QOS they used Captain Cook boats for transfer but I didn't use them.
  9. We are cruising mid January and so far have held off downloading the app, trying to delay the trauma. Not sure now how long I should wait in the hope of the new app being available but may be wishful thinking that it will be any better.
  10. This may no longer be possible with the new transport arrangements coming into effect this season. They are restricting access to Lyttleton it seems unless you have local tours booked.
  11. It seems this may not be possible with the new transport arrangements. The only cruise passengers they want in Lyttleton are those going on local tours.
  12. I am also interested in this. We may have to wait for a report from those on the early cruises to NZ.
  13. Sorry, I'm not sure about that. I know you can earn them when buying the insurance.
  14. Qantas Travel Insurance will cover those over 80, and will cover one person at about half the cost of a couple which a lot don't do. They seem pretty reasonable. Do seem to cover cruising but is a bit hidden. Might be worth a call. I have not used them.
  15. We were on Majestic Princess which left Sydney about 11th February on 10night cruise to Perth via Melbourne and Adelaide and then continuing on to Singapore. Before we even got to Adelaide they had cancelled the remainder of the voyage from Perth so that was well before the Ruby Princess embarked in Sydney.
  16. On our last cruise on Princess in Feb 2020, we were turned away from the dining room on the first night as my husband was wearing shorts. We protested they were allowed first and last night's. Maitre d said "Not on Princess". Well hello we are elite. Several years previously on P&O were denied entry as he was wearing sandals, otherwise dressed in long pants and good shirt. We protested that a person at our table the previous night was wearing sandals. Response was "We can't check everybody". How things have changed".
  17. I have booked dining through Ocean Ready on PC though found I had to do each day separately and then they changed three of them, still three months out.
  18. That is what I used to book my preferred dining times but had to do each day separately. There was not the option to do it all at once. This was five months in advance, then last week I got emails saying they have changed the times on three of the nights. Not real happy with that.
  19. I also am not a great fan of the lounger, a bit difficult to get off them as you get older. Maybe a mix of lounger and chairs would be a better option. Not much room for passing foot traffic in that picture of Regal Princess.
  20. Wondering if I can use a debit card instead of credit card as, unlike my credit cards, my debit card has no overseas transaction fees. Thanks.
  21. Post from MMDown Under stated last post was 7/07. Death notice as posted said 8/09 so that I believe is 2 months later, not the next day.
  22. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise several years ago and left four people behind in Iceland. We had an overnight in Reykjavik and had a midday departure so they may have been confused re12pm departure. Ships there are on strict time slot so no waiting. Captain confirmed they were being well looked after by the port agent. That was our last port so they were returned to England.
  23. Did try that on one side but couldn't manage it on the second.
