  1. As you are on the eastern side of NA consider flying west to east. I returned to Australia from a cruise, Genoa/Miami, Nov 2019 by flying business class with Qatar Airways from Miami via Doha to Sydney. The service in Qatar business class could not be faulted. Each of the two legs were 15 hours each and it was the easiest, most comfortable long haul flight I have done and I've done a few from west coast to OZ. It was worth the money. I have also done a few flights from Oz to Middle East, Africa and Europe economy class with Qatar and IMHO they were better than Qantas of any of the NA airlines - Singapore Airlines comes close - and that's another airline you could check out, they do excellent Premium Economy service as well as Business.
  2. You'll be cruising through the tropics most of the way. Ever read Ryme of the Ancient Mariner? IIRC Day after day, week after week We stuck nor breath, nor motion As idle as a painted ship Upon a painted ocean
  3. I have found Holland America to be a very close match to Celebrity (IMHO). Celebrity in front on food but HAL in front on itinerary. However I have not cruised Celebrity post COVID, only HAL, and have read things are different so I can't directly compare except to say I have have been very happy with my post COVID HAL cruises.
  4. If you return perhaps you may explore Western Australia, it's an amazing state, one million square kilometres bigger than Alaska - and a lot warmer. 🥵🌶️ https://iview.abc.net.au/show/bill-bailey-s-wild-west-australia
  5. That may not be possible. Hobbiton tours have set time slots which are usually booked well in advance. In 2020 I booked a tour months in advance (self drive tour of NZ) and there were very few time slots left.
  6. A nice selection of classic guitars, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, Gibson Flying V and Gibson Les Paul. I don't have a Flying V but was never fond of them anyway.
  7. NZ tour companys have an excellent reputation for getting back to port in good time. I wouldn't be too concerned and have done tours there in the past with a one hour margin.
  8. The best snorkeling I have done was on Conflict Islands however there is a charge to transport you from the beach to the snorkeling platform which includes use of snorkeling equipment if you don't have your own. As for being strenuous this may have something to do with insurance as swimming may be looked on as being a strenuous activity. Or, the snorkeling may be in a tide affected area which could involve more exersion than just floating about. As for donating materials (I presume for school use), I suggest donate cash in Kina as there may be things local schools need that aren't on a visitor's radar. Cash other than Kina can be difficult and costly for locals to change.
  9. +Been there but I'll let someone else get it as I'm about to leave for a weekend of windsurfing at Myal Shores. Kia ora
  10. That's it. My FIL was Welsh. Have visited Wales many times.
  11. Had a similar thing happen to us in 2018, on Solstice IIRC, but it was from Melborne to Fiordland, which had to be skipped
  12. Aha! been there. Pearl farm Broome. Don't remember the name.
  13. It's not far from a port for dogs.🙄
  14. Bare feet are not permitted anywhere except around pool areas.
  15. In the past I have booked a wine tour at the Napier. Information Centre. It was a good tour. If booking at the IC you need to be there as early as possible before tours sell out. At Picton I have enjoyed a cruise tour of Queen Charlotte sound and steam tream to Blenheim.
  16. MSC are building gas powered cruise ships. https://gaspathways.com/-2385
  17. I wear socks with mine - when cycling in winter.🚲❄️
