  1. I'm with you on this. I get a sore neck watching from the couch. At home I have my TV opposite my bed - it helps me get to sleep (but not as fast as reading a book).🛌📺💤
  2. I'd like to see whole grain bread on ships as an alternative to white or brown (wheat?). But yes, nice bread rolls are always welcome.
  3. Oh no! She's picked up the horrid, added, "ah" after words like beer, near, fear and, most commonly year, which becomes year -ah (not to be confused with yee-hah😉). As an Aussie, it makes me cringe. Time now for my afternoon cuppa.🥱
  4. I take two CCs, a Visa and a Mastercard. Got caught out once, due to cruise holds still there on the last day of a post cruise 7 day tour to Fairbanks, Alaska. I needed to pay for an extra night stay in a Fairbanks hotel as my TA had miscalculated the number of nights we were staying. The reserve card came in handy then. Once, in Morocco, I needed some cash. (We had to pay equivalent of USD50, cash only, for a pre flight COVID test before flying to Doha). The ATM rejected my Visa but was ok with my Mastercard. I take very little cash. I took about USD30 cash, mostly $1 bills last June for an Alaska cruise/tour. Came home with $3 left over.
  5. There are several hotels at Changi Airport. Everything you need is there. Fast MRT or cheap taxis to city for those who must shop. Then there is the Jewell, an amazing place literally at the airport doorstep. Amazing eating options eastern or western where you are spoiled for choice as well as shops. Even if you don't stay there it's worth a visit. Also a choice of drinking establishments with food available. https://www.lifestyleasia.com/sg/dining/drinks/bar-guide-where-to-drink-in-jewel-changi-airport/ https://www.google.com/travel/search?q=changi airport hotel prices&g2lb=2502548%2C2503771%2C2503781%2C4258168%2C4284970%2C4291517%2C4597339%2C4814050%2C4874190%2C4893075%2C4965990%2C10208620%2C72277293%2C72302247%2C72317059%2C72406588%2C72412680%2C72414906%2C72421566%2C72430562%2C72440516%2C72442338%2C72448541%2C72458066%2C72458707%2C72466827%2C72470440%2C72470899%2C72471395%2C72472050%2C72476339&hl=en-AU&gl=au&ssta=1&ts=CAESCAoCCAMKAggDGhwSGhIUCgcI6A8QAhgEEgcI6A8QAhgFGAEyAhAAKgcKBToDQVVE&qs=CAE4BEIJCeIvlB45_Jx4QgkJRQTFHA8XoHRCCQkN51qFsffc3EIJCRRXpAdnWVyO&ap=aAE&ictx=1&sa=X&ved=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwi4p8XI0eCDAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQBg
  6. Yes. I believe Bali law requires a rider to have an international drivers licence. Without doing a little research, I have a feeling that riding in Bali is an exclusion in some travel policies. It needs careful checking of policy "fine print".
  7. I get mine from my local Post Office which only two minutes away. You have to order it but only takes about 24-48 hrs depending on time of day it's ordered.
  8. I hace CC travel insurance underwritten by Allianz and it is good for Bali, and most other places in the world, but do not get on a scooter under any circumstances, you will not be covered. I have hearing impairment and also have trouble understanding accented English. Just yesterday I was on the phone to Optus about my land line outage and I had to keep asking the call centre person to repeat almost everything.
  9. On my HAL cruise to Conflict we were advised well before arrival that they used a cashless system and to bring CCs. This was from the island owner who gave a couple of pre arrival talks about the islands and how he came to own them. A very interesting bloke.
  10. From my experience I would add to avoid the coastal route on weekends.
  11. While watching the vid I came across a possible source of the expression "to get a handle on it" in a life or death situation.
  12. You could be right. It was west coast after Panama. It was there that I first tasted sour sop - delicious.
  13. I came across this interesting video on ship design faults before and during WW2. The first half of the video deals with war ships and then (from about 8.58) there is discussion on how bow design affects stability. After that there is discussion on a design flaws in promenade decks on the Titanic.
  14. Lefty could but why? We can ask our mates here who always happy to help if the can. There are many questions asked on this forum about the Medallion and other apps but no one is told to go to the Princess or other forums.
  15. I've always found that to be the case. I also take photos of the car at hand back just in case.
  16. Heads up. You will need to get used to drinking schooners. I suspect that wont be a problem for an old salt.
  17. That's because vaping is vaporising a liquid, there's no burning of any vegetable material, therefore no smoke.
  18. I like adding Persian Feta to salads along with sultanas.
  19. I can't believe I typed through instead of throw. Doh.🙄
  20. Bromeliads are excellent tree climbers. I'll go out on a limb and post this photo I took in a country (I can't recall which) near Mexico during a tour off Celebrity Infinity (Ft Lauderdale/San Diego) 2015.
  21. My three cats will eat all Aldi catfood except fish varieties (Whiskers, Sylvesters, Fancy Feast). They will also through up dry food if tney are given too much. Each meal time (morning and night) they have wet food plus a little dry food. As long hairs (2 x Rag Doll, the other of suspect parentage) they are prone to through up the occasional fur ball, especially coming into summer. When crusing or on holidays I have house sitters. Much cheaper than a boarding cattery - zilch.
