  1. Taking food back to cabin? OK for salad eaters as anything that was warm when plated will be cold. Yuk. Another tea or coffee? Long walk. Crowded? Choose a different time. I have never been unable to find two free seats (self and friend) within a couple of minutes in Lido. People are coming and going all the time.
  2. For those who don't already know, Lyle has been red carded so he'll be taking a sabatical.
  3. My 83 year old mum suddenly passed away when my wife and I, and two friends, were on tour in Vietnam. I flew home for her funeral in Brisbane then back to Vietnam to catch up with with my wife and friends. It all went smoothly.
  4. This twigged a memory cell. What happened to the Microsoft classrooms? I would often go to the lectures to brush up my computer skills.
  5. Sorry to hear. Please pass on my condolences to Lynn. I received an email from a mate of mine this morning to say his wife passed yesterday from myeloma and my friend Tony, who was with me in Canada, messaged me that her aunt in Queensland died, would have been 102 next month. I'm due for my annual (March) blood test for myeloma.
  6. I happen to enjoy fixing stuff.
  7. I've had the corkage added to my account then the next day found I had been also slugged 18% service charge on my $40 (2 bottles). A sticker was attached to each of my bottles to indicate I had paid.
  8. Repair busted suitcases and or locks would be one. Repair electrical/electronic gadgets we all seem to need. Fix or adjust bicycles, scooters, and mobility aids. There would be more but these just quickly came to mind.
  9. I believe Ospreys are a bird of prey. Lyle's bird looks very similar to egrets I see where I live. I'll guess its an egret rather than a heron.
  10. Give that man a kewpie doll! The loch in the background is Loch Linnhe. We were standing on our little piece of Scotland. Your turn Lyle.
  11. Having cruised on six different HAL ships I have never come across chogs in Lido. I almost always eat in breakfast and lunch in the Lido and never had a problem of not finding somewhere to sit. I am patient and look around for people about to leave. I also ask if people don't mind sharing say, a four top with only two sitting at it. I agree it could be frustrating for some who have experienced not being able to find a spot. I also believe it is rude and ignorant of people to occupy tables at peak dining times if they are not dining.
  12. Not Loch Lomond but there is a loch in the background.
  13. Mentioned in OP "on a low budget". I have never use the pay-up reastaurants as I am happy enough with the MDR or Lido food. I don't see the point of paying OTT for food that I can get as good as and cheaper that I can have at local restaurants at home. BTW The "Dive In" on Lido deck is great for burgers and dogs. Can be made to order.
  14. Another hint. Just to keep things rolling as the wind is too light to go sailing ATM. - He's the Monarch of the Glen coed school.
  15. Nah, not that recent. Another hint. Meet Lady Darra and Laird Lyndon.
  16. Aha. I should have had a closer look. I dismissed it as a container ship of which there could be hundreds around the world.
  17. Next pic. Hint, This place was recently mentioned in this topic.
  18. Thanks. I had to ask aunty Google for that one as there were no touristy features to be found. Was having no luck for a while but nailed it by zooming in on the tall, odd shaped, building on the far right of the pic. Looking now. Back in a jiff.
  19. The Crows Nest was my #1 go to. Relaxed, quiet, bar and barista service, close to library. #2 would be pre dinner drinks in the Ocean bar where there was, live, light musical entertainment.
  20. This happened to me. There were a couple of loose screws in a cupboard door which I could have easily fixed but had to call maintenance.
