  1. I have a couple questions about this excursion… Did you notice if anyone of the others felt like the ‘jobs’ were too much for them? Did you get to go ‘fast’? I know it says a race, but do you really get to go fast? Do you need any real sailing experience? It’s been awhile since I’ve been sailing. But this excursion is calling to me. Thank you for any information. Enjoying your posts. Have a great cruise!!
  2. Cannot wait to see this in person!!! Have not been to New Orleans before and don't have time this trip to make it memorable. But a taste before the cruise will be a good test to see if we want to come back another time. And we splurged for a suite on this trip, so YAY!!!
  3. Looking forward to your review on how the Connie looks. We are on her February 3rd for 10 to Eastern Caribean. And we can't wait. We booked back in April - Inside room with included basic wifi/basic alcoholic beverage package/tips. I kept a very close eye on the pricing and managed to get us down to a tad over $1000 per person for 10 days. Very happy with this price. We were hoping to snag a 'move up' but not sure. The price to move up to an ocean view is over $800 a person. Not sure if that is worth it. I'm not retired yet but can't wait until I can take a 'me only' cruise!!! Have a great cruise!!!
  4. Thank you both for your answers. We were only looking at Tuscan Grille for one night, but the last three times we tried it showed sold out. So, we were going to purchase it online and then book once on ship. But!!! I just went on again and was able to book the first night at Tuscan Grille with the discount (for first night)!! So, we are now getting even more excited. We had booked back last March and got a good deal w/internet and tips and drink package included. Now just have to wait for time to board and get our drinks on!! I have to admit I was hoping Jim_Iain would chime in. I have thoroughly enjoyed all your live feeds. And garyl62 - Thank you for sharing your information. Here's to cruising again!!
  5. We will be on the Connie in February and have a few quick questions about Specialty Dining. I've read a bunch of post but seeing different answers. Do we have to buy the specialty dining online before we board? Do we save $$ by buying online ahead of the cruise? When can we make reservations for our specialty dining -> we are doing Tuscan Grille? Make reservations on our app before we board? OR Make reservations when we first board? I've enjoyed getting little hints about our fabulous cruise we have coming up - Thank you!!!
  6. Thank you for this response. We knew about priority check-in/boarding and debarking, but we didn't know about the 2 large bottles of water or the bag of laundry. And the First Access to Stateroom?? Does this mean we get to go straight to our cabin or just able to go and drop off our stuff so we don't have to carry the stuff around? Starting to get so excited. Now if only Carnival would release a sale on the drink package. Lol.
  7. We are on the Glory in April (first week - Lord help me, but it's a cruise)... Could you tell me where the deli is so I know where to go searching? I'm always on the lookout for a good Cuban sandwich. Thanks!! Hope the rest of your cruise is quiet....
  8. That when cruising - Things happen. Ports can and do change/cancel. Weather can't be controlled - you just have to roll with it. Patience!!! But mostly - Have fun. Also...Tell them not to go on a cruise unless they are ready to get hooked on cruising. I love cruising!!
  9. Perfect!! Enjoy the rest of your trip!!
  10. As soon as I sent my question about game playing areas...I saw this post. This are looks perfect!!
  11. Thank you for this. We are on Connie in February for 10 nights and we are always looking for a good reading area. Now a question...Any good game playing areas (dominos, phase 10, Euchre)? Have a wonder trip...
  12. Thank you for reassuring me. I will be doing this in next month or so. Thanks!!
  13. Can someone walk me through the process of how to put a gift card bought on the AARP web page toward a booking with Carnival? Do we just go to our booking with Carnival and then enter the gift card number (like we would be adding a credit card but under gift card)? Is it really that easy? Anything I might be missing? I understand if Carnival goes belly up - loose it all. New to Carnival after a long absence.
  14. Thank you for the response. I actually found the information about the same time you were making your post. Have a great day!!
  15. Without starting a long conversation of the pros and cons of smoking… Can anyone else me where the smoking sections on the Glory are? Where are the outside smoking areas ? Aft? Port? Assuming in the Casino. We are booking a balcony room and would like to be opposite side of ship if possible. Thank you!!
  16. Ready to read all about Jim and Iain's next big adventure. Have a great trip!!!
