  1. We were on EN to Bermuda a couple of years ago and at about 440 points we were #3 onboard. There were only two Pinnacles on that sailing so we got recognized as D+ and being #3 point wise. We're on Vision to Bermuda in Aug and who knows lol.
  2. I thought new Pinns were recognized on the cruise they go over. I know they don't get the benefits til the next cruise. We're with friends (who are already Pinn) on our Nov Wonder cruise when we go over and were hoping they'd be there for the recognition.
  3. We're definitely happy about the free internet as we currently share our free 48 hours each. It'll be nice to have Chops for breakfast. We used to enjoy the D breakfast on Grandeur in the MDR, but that's no more.
  4. Exactly what I said in post #6.
  5. Ah, the diamond event. Wine freely poured. And bar snacks. We were on EX for our first couple of D events and it was help up in the glass enclosed card room off the VCL (like a greenhouse when the sun was out) We currently have 667 points and will hit 700 in Nov. I thought I'd be 80 before we got there, but we're 64 and 66.
  6. I got Shringrix when I was about 58 and I'm now 64. From what I've read, there may be a booster as new data comes out as the protection lasts 7-10 years. I haven't seen anything that says you can't get the vaccine again later. I reacted to both shots with lethargy and a sore arm. I felt like I had the flu for 24 hours with each shot.
  7. The video is very concerning. I haven't seen the staff captains' name posted so I'm not sure who it is.
  8. You don't actually hit a status until the cruise is completed anyway. The only exception is Pinnacle, but then you're only recognized on the cruise you go over it. Emerald is basically a place holder. We were scheduled to go D on our next cruise at the same time they adjusted how they do points and added Emerald. We then were "Emerald" for that one cruise.
  9. There is a thread on a Harmony page with video. The video is disturbing. Several people onboard and ashore confirmed the emergency stop and an ambulance before the video was posted.
  10. This is true. There is a post on a Harmony page discussing it and it has video.
  11. True. Just ask any university/college. My youngest went to a small one in Pennsylvania and I knew a volunteer fireman from there. They had numerous calls for fires from lint as college students aren't very good at cleaning out lint traps. How good do you think cruisers clean them out if they think it's "not their job"? As D+ we each get one bag of free laundry, but it's just underwear, socks,t-shorts and pjs which is fine. But, before we got any free laundry, we just packed what we needed and occasionally washed a few items in the sink. Not a big deal.
  12. We're back on Wonder in Nov, but we have Mason Jar for boarding day. We were on in Jan for a b2b and never got into Solarium Bistro due to it being used for kosher meals for Yeshiva (both weeks of our b2b). Hope to use it in Nov. Personally, I think it stinks that we didn't have any access in Jan without any notice, but whatever. We like it for breakfast on sea days when we hang out in the solarium.
  13. Agreed. I've said the same thing. Our Vision b2b a couple of weeks ago, we never received a notice or had the link available. They didn't even ask us anything at the port and that's why I think it's about dunzo.
  14. That info is in your cruise documents that were issued about 30 days out.
  15. App and website have been very glitchy.
  16. Add to my posts? What exactly does that mean? I'm not allowed to post after someone quotes me? Whew, I'm glad you let me know. LOL
  17. You can absolutely purchase 24 hour increments of internet. You can also buy an internet package prorated on any day. Pretty sure drink packages are for the length of cruise only.
  18. I didn't say anything different. Point is, people reporting it's open to everything starting today are very incorrect.
  19. When you do your check in you will know what time you will checkin. Gold status doesn't mean anything for checkin or boarding at the port unless you're referring to a suite or Pinnacle when you say "gold", but even then, it's dependent on when you arrive. Once boarding starts, it usually doesn't make any difference. We always book 1230 for boarding day lunch, but we also always get an early boarding time. The one exception was a couple of weeks ago boarding Vision in Norfolk. We had a 1230 reservation at Chops but didn't get onboard until 130. Boarding that day didn't even start until 1 due to some issues getting everyone off due to tides. They took us right in.
  20. You might want to ask this on the east coast departure board.
  21. More than likely it would just shorten it. Our Vision cruise was cut short by a day last week due to a huge event going on in Norfolk at the Nauticus and terminal area. It wouldn't be the first time a cruise has been shortened by a day or so. Reality is, a ship can get from Norfolk to Baltimore in about 8 hours so no need to cancel the next one if that happens.
  22. And it closes again on Mon. A couple of people on FB misheard or misread this info and decided the channel was back open for everyone, including cruise ships which is not true.
  23. It was a technical drydock which means mechanical and maintenance issues including some cosmetic stuff. They usually do carpeting, upholstery during technical drydocks (that's what Vision's is also). Our steward on Vision last week said they were pulling up and replacing carpet in the hallways. What they didn't do on GR and aren't on Vision is adding anything new such as venues. It's a great time to deep clean and replace carpet and broken items. They had already started some things when we were on Vision the last two cruises. There were shipyard contractors onboard working on cabling in hallways, etc. They were onboard both cruises as we saw them during turnaround day of our b2b doing the same thing we were, walking off and back on.
