  1. If it's an excursion booked thru Carnival, the ship will wait if the excursion is late returning.

As I said, Carnival will wait IF it is a Carnival excursion.

Go to their web site, find general excursion page, and it says they will wait right there in plain language.

    Or the FAQs pages:

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2866

Sorry, I couldn't get the screen shot of the first page to load.

  2. You aren't dressing up for others, only yourself. You can dress up every night if that's your desire. It's your cruise, dress as you are comfortable with.

Living in Florida near the beach for last 42 of my 62 years, and being retired for 3 years, I'm comfortable in golf shorts, tshirt/golf shirt, and flip flops 24/7. I will wear slacks and nice golf shirt, but that's about the extent of my dress up on ship.

  3. Spring Break should be long over, as Easter is April 1, 2018. EM

Spring Break varies through the country. Local Colleges may or may not differ from local elementary and high schools.

Some break as early as February, some don't break until late April.

    Google is your friend.

  4. Back in the day Apple used to say about their Mac computers, save early and save often.

I transferred this wisdom to cruising: book early and check prices often..

That reminds me of voting back in the 60's.

    Vote early, vote often.

  5. yes it does, the deck 2 balcony cabins are sold out, and others are close. argh. i want a mid ship cabin, so i'm limited, and she wanta a balcony, so i have to have one. i was told lower was best as there would be less sway motion

Sway you say? It's all in your head. We have been in aft extended balcony cabin deck 8, and forward cabin (3 cabins from very front) as high as deck 9, and have not noticed any swaying motion. Even in 50 knot winds and rain.

  6. It's pretty obvious Carnival is trying to become "Disney on a budget" so I think you're out of luck. Do your best to enjoy your cruise but until Carnival sees a drop in passengers without kids that isn't made up by their new market, I don't expect anything to change.

Our next several cruises are on lines that are not as family focused.

    Which lines would those be?

  8. We are in the same boat. Ha-ha! But with one huge difference. We are the lucky ones to be going on the Conquest on Saturday. So now with no adult pool and no Serenity area that leaves us with __________ to enjoy during the day.

And going to be ON the same boat, different months. We're scheduled for February. We'll see what dry dock in Sept/Oct does for it.

  9. Okay...adults already have:

    Every Bar

    Club

    Casino

    Serenity Area

    Adult Comedy

    Cloud9 Spa.

What else, besides a pool, do you want? Seriously...what else?

    Yes pools for adults only.

Bars? No Thanks, I don't drink.

Casino? No Thanks, I don't gamble and too much smoke odor.

Adult comedy? Clubs? It's only at night.

    Spa? It's indoors.

That leaves small Serenity areas and adult pools to enjoy during the day.

  10. I think it is perfectly fine that some people want adult only pools, it's fine to not want to be around kids playing loudly. And some people expressed that in their post and I don't have a problem with their opinions. What I do have a problem with is people who voice this option and add negativity towards children. In my OPINION they are hating on kids. "Hating on kids" does not mean you deep down hate children. It just means your being negative towards things that they do. You can voice your opinion without all the negativity toward children. Being a hater is more jealously than hate.

Sounds like YOU are hating on people that are "hating on kids".

hate is hate, no matter where its directed. have a nice day!!

  11. I have noticed that several have mentioned other cruise lines that are more geared to adult cruisers.

Anyone care to list any that are in Carnival price levels?

We both retired 3 years ago, age 62 and 59 now, and have been on 3 cruises, all Carnival, with 1 scheduled for February 2018. I have at least 5 or 6 drinks per year, so don't do booze cruises. We like to lounge in adult pools, having quiet conversations with other adults, without someone splashing pool water in our iced tea.

  12. Be aware.....Staggered CHECK-in, not boarding. You will not be allowed into the terminal until your allotted check-in time. Hope its not raining. If you arrive after your check-in window, you can go right into the terminal.

  14. Allstate Rewards ALWAYS has some selection of 10% off gift cards available. Usually in $100 denominations, sometimes $50 and every now and then $500. You don't have to be a customer -- if you aren't a customer it's easier to sign up via their DriveWise phone app. You can set up a username and password through the DriveWise app and then visit allstaterewards.com to start earning points. The points are ridiculously easy to accumulate without doing much at all except plug in the promo codes that they give you for signing up, watching some videos, etc.

Will I be bugged by insurance salesman after signing up for Drivewise?
