  1. I guess most posters here were never kids.

That has nothing to do with it. Many of us have grown kids, and grandkids. When they don't cruise with us, we prefer quiet areas to have quiet conversations with other adults, without interruptions of someone else's kids running around our chairs, or in the pool yelling Marco Polo.

Maybe we like quiet areas to read a book, or listen to our own music thru EarPods without having to crank up the volume to drown out extraneous sounds/noise/kids.

  2. Hurricane season is officially June 1 thru November 30. 6 months. Having been thru the eye of 2 hurricanes, and dealing with a dozen or so others, I would rather deal with hurricanes than tornados. Hurricanes you have days to watch, plan and prepare. Tornados not so much.

The captain is going to do his best to not endanger his ship, or his passengers.

  3. IMHO, Carnival has made most cutbacks to increase their bottom line, and increase payouts to owners/stockholders. I've had enough of their cutbacks. Our next booked cruise is in February. We are retired, and lucky to live minutes away from some of the best beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, and have our own pool. We cruise to visit places we have never been before, and have been to most ports in the Caribbean, and after hitting them all, we may be done cruising.

  4. We've cruised out of Florida which has generally fine been fine with a rough night here and there, as well as out of New York in the winter which was quite rough. So I was just curious.

Cruising out of NOLA, it takes about 8 hours to reach the Gulf. Smooth sailing near a port really has no effect on waters a day or two or three into the cruise. Weather can change quickly. Great today, not so great in 2 days.

  5. First, the NOLA airport is not near the cruise port. Guessing 20-30 minute taxi ride. Check-in time is to get into the terminal, not to board the ship. We didn't have FTTF, and arrived about 20 minutes past our checkin time, and walked right past everyone waiting outside that arrived early for their time. IMHO, I would not want to be stuck waiting outside in unpredictable weather. After checkin, we had to sit 15-20 minutes inside the terminal waiting for our boarding zone to be called. Boarding ramp is a zig-zag ramp to the ship. Moved slow for us.

  6. As someone from south Louisiana, with French heritage (thru Nova Scotia) of many generations ago, I wish I could read and speak French. The little French I do speak is Cajun French, much different from what you speak. Merci Beaucoup = Thank You, Very Much

And now, please explain what a Filet Mignon is to you, as you have aroused my curiosity. Recently, I have seen it as Filet on menus. the Mignon part has been dropped.

    Merci

  7. Would someone please provide a link that specifically says Conquest will be getting a Serenity deck, because I sure can't find it. The following is all I find, updated 3/28/17:
