  1. Had to stop in just to see what the heck a "Gpod Pozza" was...my first thought was OMG, what new technology do I have to learn now?? .... like the Ipod of yesterday....😁 As for the pizza, haven't found any pizza at sea that blows me away.
  2. We very much enjoyed it! I have since tried to replicate some of the drinks they made with the VC brand but haven't been very successful. For example, the first course was paired with a champagne on ice which they infused with cucumber. I didn't know champagne on ice was a thing until that experience. It was delicious!
  3. Dh and I have been taking ballroom dance lessons. Did you notice any dancing opportunities in the evenings...like in the main atrium? We are doing this cruise in March... Thank you for the info.
  4. Awe, good for them. They must have started for your sailing. Last week they were masked and many of the crew that we spoke with commented that they were ready to remove them. I have to say that I applaud MSC for taking things slowly.
  5. I actually asked this question when we did the experience. I was told that sometimes they don't offer the experience if there isn't enough interest. I pointed out that there may be more interest if it was advertised in the cruise planner. It quickly devolved into a chicken/egg and which came first conversation.
  6. Awe thank you! It was my pleasure. As for the slot thing, I have to say Mera's casino was good to me this trip. I gave most of it back...but always fun to plan on their dime!
  7. Yes, there was a white night party combined with silent disco and also a Flower Power night as well, which was a throw back to the 70's disco era.
  8. My pleasure. And NO smoke in the casino the whole time. I saw ashtrays but nobody was smoking. Perhaps a byproduct of a half full ship. But it was nice!
  9. Thank you! I have no doubt you and your family will have a great cruise! 😊
  10. The only thing disappointing about our last night is that it was our last night 😞. Dinner was amazing and once again, so was the service. On our final ship walk about before going to bed we happened upon the silent disco party on the deck 6 promenade. There was a table where you could check out head phones so DH and I got in line. Turns out you needed your cruise card to participate…wristbands only were a no go. So we skipped the silent disco party and gave the casino a whirl instead. In the casino I racked up enough players points to warrant 30% off our next cruise plus a $75 OBC. The voucher was on our door when we left this morning. To say we enjoyed our cruise immensely doesn’t really articulate the fabulous time we had. I think anyone on the fence about MSC stands more to lose for not giving them a try than they do for trying them on for size. Were there a few hiccups? Of course. But we’re pretty easy going and what’s not to love when on vacation… I’m going to wrap up with a few random tips: 1. Bring a standard household extension cord (two prong) if you like having your phone next to the bed when you sleep. There are no charging ports bedside. 2. You have to be out of your room by 8 am. We put our luggage out the night before and we don’t usually do that bc most of the time we have a flight to catch. My suggestion is to do express walk off even if you’re not on a time crunch. That way you can leave at your leisure instead of waiting until all the luggage is grouped in the warehouse. We were ready to go but we’re delayed by the luggage issue. 3. Port Canaveral parking deck at pier 10 currently has only 1 working elevator. We had to park on the third level due to repaving so we walked up the parking ramps with luggage in tow instead of waiting for the single elevator. It took longer to get out of the parking area and on 95 than it did to get off the ship and clear the terminal. Back to reality and home to Pipercat and Jane. Safe travels everyone! GP
  11. Rounding out the afternoon we made our way back to the sport complex to do our final simulation in the fighter jet. For this sim you can trade off control (if flying with a companion). No trade off for me though. I kept my eyes closed the whole time while DH spun us into areal donuts and tailspins. Eyes closed I managed to ward off the nausea. Afterward, we spent our bonus $ from the sim package in the arcade. All interactive games are $2 while air hockey is $4.50. I lost both rounds of air hockey but felt good about myself because I managed to work up a sweat. Afterward we ventured over to the water park to give the slides a whirl. Upon signing away any liability to MSC we learned the slides were closed for maintenance. Not sure why that couldn’t have been done while we were at the island but no worries, we made our way to the pool bar for a Peña colada with a cptn Morgan topper. That took just long enough for slide maintenance to conclude. Tubes In hand, water sliding commenced. There are 3 slides, two of which require tubes. The third is a body slide that finishes in a funnel that whirls you about just enough to obtain a mild concussion before exiting. Now I know why they made us sign a waiver… or maybe my 50-something y/o self just doesn’t need to be doing the toilet bowl flush slide 😂. Bumps and bruises aside, we had a blast! Water park tip: if you forget to bring a towel with you to the water park you can duck into the Aurea area just around the corner and pick one up. After loading everything we possibly could into a single afternoon, I made my way back to our room to pack and get ready for dinner while DH chilled in our cabana. As is our custom, I gave our cabin steward the night off by putting on the “do not disturb” light…just too much disarray about the room to put them to bother. I also collected my tip money for our two very awesome deck attendants: Irish from the Philippines and Romeo. Both were fabulous!
  12. So I’m going to amend my original answer to say that personnel were, in fact monitoring footwear today. From the looks of it (precarious), I’d definitely go with sneakers.
  13. Just got to see the first daylight sail away of the cruise. Pulling away from Ocean Cay is fascinating (to me) because the water is so clear you can actually see the cut away that was dredged in order to make the port. I wasn’t sure I was going to like an over night at Ocean Cay but it has turned out to be one of my favorite aspects of this cruise. Originally, all aboard was scheduled for 11:30 but it was changed to 12:30 with sail away at 1. We got off the ship to walk the entire island. Boy have we been missing out by only going to the YC area! Today we discovered the lighthouse bar, which was wonderful! Also, the spa area of the island is adults only and has lovely views. MCHO (my crazy humble opinion) and random thoughts about the island: 1. Ocean Cay is the best private island for its layout, facilities, and pure beauty. 2. Even at full ship capacity, there’s no way you couldn’t find a great spot to relax. 3. The canned music piped throughout the island via the Bose speaker system is absolutely dreadful! 4. Save for the Ocean house restaurant, the YC section of the island is the least appealing area and will not be where we hang out on our next visit. Upon returning to the ship we headed to deck 19 for a bite to eat. I had a Greek salad with chicken (and dressing) while my other half had a cheeseburger. The captain delighted us all with three loud blasts as we sailed away.
  14. Thank you! Will check when I get back. Phone isn’t connecting to my email. 🤬
  15. Thanks for the review. We are doing this cruise in March but we don’t go to Ensenada, it’s Mazatlan instead. Interesting you found Solstice to be small. We think it’s the perfect size. But that’s what’s great about cruising, there’s usually something for everyone. Thanks for the heads-up on the time changes. Glad you enjoyed the food!
  16. Last day of our getaway and we’ve set up shop on the pool deck with a view of lighthouse beach. We snagged an available cabana for $34.99 for the entire day complete with a bar set up (water, beer, soda). While I enjoy the YC pool deck, shade is not so easy to come by. There are 3 cabanas and 2 of them are reserved for the Royal suites so I felt lucky to get the last one.
  17. We didn’t get a voyager “gift” on our 4 night cruise. On 7 nights we got a draw string back pack, which we used today.
  18. On Meraviglia right now. Service has been impeccable. What can I say? Only you will know what’s right for you. We are Celebrity fans too so it really comes down to personal preference.
  19. Congratulations!! Definitely going to have to check this one out!
  20. Wow. Quite the generalization 😳.
  21. Lunch on Ocean Cay was my favorite yet! DH had the lobster roll while I had the steak salad. Both were so fresh and delicious. Lunch Service was great as well. I will say that if you order a frozen cocktail expecting it to be frozen, you will be disappointed. They don’t really have the capability for frozen drinks and should really just advertise their cocktails as “on the rocks”. I also want to mention that we took plenty of tip money with us today but not a single chair side drink service was offered. Maybe because we were on the hill? Or maybe we just looked like we needed to dry out a bit 😜. Anyway, it didn’t deter from our enjoyment… just how it was. After a few hours on the beach we called it a day and walked back to the ship, dropped off our bag, and headed to the thermal suite for a steam. Much of this evening’s entertainment revolves around the bonfire and light show on the beach so we had an early ish dinner and headed to the TSL for some drinks and conversation. Overall another great day! I continued to be impressed by the level of service from all of the crew. They really go the extra mile. Tonight’s dinner was surf n turf. I had beef filet and salmon while DH enjoyed the grilled turbot.
  22. Yes! I’ve followed your remarks on NCL over the years. You have quite the line up on the books! We have a Celebrity Mexican Riviera cruise set for March and I’m seriously wondering if we are going to be disappointed after being pampered in the YC.
