  1. I love a good deal! I was just looking at MSC Explora and was wondering if it would apply to that line...but a quick bit of research says probably not since they are a separate fleet under the MSC umbrella.
  2. Is this actually the case for US sailings? I have no foreign transaction fees on the credit card we used out of port canaveral.
  3. Totally get what you're saying but we're talking about the highest category on the ship which in turn costs a pretty penny. I've been in a RS three times and didn't even know asking for PJ's or robes was a thing...you better believe I'm asking on our upcoming Solstice cruise. For what we are paying to be in a RS, my butler should be begging me to take a robe!
  4. Yacht Club suites include the full shebang...wifi, drinks, priority everyting, private sundeck, lounge, restaurant, and thermal suite access. Then there are Aurea suites (outside of Yacht Club) which have a private sundeck with bar (on the ships I've sailed) and separate restaurant as well, plus entry to the Aurea thermal suite. The added perks of a drinks package and wifi are dependent upon any MSC specials for Aurea at the time of booking....otherwise they can be added later for an upcharge.
  5. Hope you didn't think my comment was directed at you. It wasn't. It was directed at all those people who stop to take video instead of stopping to take action, like the man in the neighboring room. PS...I love your handle!
  6. I'm feeling very encouraged! @psmarkle indicated that he has used the 30% off voucher on the YC and has also been successful with stacking the additional 5% off. It's a great deal! I hope you enjoy your cruise in Jan. @graphicguy sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. 😎 Assuming you won't be upgraded to a YC deluxe, I have to say your fare for a YC interior is great! If I remember correctly, you like to take a spin in the casino. That 30% voucher comes pretty quickly if you like to play.
  7. Yes, you can invite your cousin to join and there is a specialty restaurant fee that applies. Not sure what it is these days.
  8. Wow, wow, wow! This is great! Thanks for taking the time to respond and have a wonderful cruise!
  9. I just earned a 30% off voucher from the casino on my cruise last week...am wondering if this can be used on a YC booking. The fine print says some exclusions apply but doesn't list the exclusions. I have this question in with my TA but she doesn't work weekends so the jury is still out.
  10. Bless the passenger next door trying to talk her off the railing!
  11. And then there were those taking video hoping to catch it all...SMH.
  12. From what I could tell there was no fee. If you put $ in a slot machine via your players card it charges your room which charges the card you swipe at the kiosk when you board the ship. Same with all other transactions on board.
  13. Following. Your observations of this cruise will determine single-handedly if we book a cruise on the Beyond or not. No pressure! 💁‍♀️😬 Actually, I’m just kidding but I am looking forward to your report.
  14. CC rules wont allow me to tell you who we use but you are welcome to e-mail me if you would like. pipercatandjane at gmail.com
  15. This might be dependent upon the port of embarkation and length of cruise. Our 4 night out of Port Canaveral did all announcements in English only while our 7 nighter out of Miami gave the full compliment of languages.
  16. Once you've tried YC, it will be very difficult to go back to other mainstream lines. We have done mostly Celebrity and NCL but our last 2 cruises were with MSC because of their pricing (better than both the others for suite level) and we are now completely in love with the product. After just returning from an MSC cruise a few days days ago, DH and I are concerned that we aren't going to enjoy our upcoming Celebrity cruise. But we're in a Royal Suite so I guess we'll make it work 😁. Seriously though, I think you'll find MSC to be pretty easy to navigate. My only recommendation would be to book via a TA instead of MSC directly. I've heard their customer service can be pretty frustrating.
  17. If ypu tak tome to red te throde, it's very obvious what the OP meant....and he rather comically and good-naturedly apologized. A little levity is good, I think.
  18. @zitsky wrote "I’ve searched the forum a bit. It seems that most people enjoy it. I hope they do it on the Beyond." It was clear to me that @zitsky was referring to the people on this forum and not necessarily on a cruise ship at large. While the people on this forum my not be a complete representative sample, I think it's enough for one to decide if they want to try it or not. Nothing wrong in assuming that, IMO.
  19. I realize this thread was made a while ago but I just got my 30% off voucher from our Meraviglia sailing and like you said, it very much feels like a golden ticket! Just wanted to clarify that you were in fact, able to use this voucher on a YC suite. I was thinking they might restrict it to certain categories. If YC is included, it seems like a no brainer.
  20. Good to know! Honestly, I'm convinced that the only reason DH wanted me to book this cruise is because he wants to ballroom dance while on board. We saw people dancing on Silhouette in the main atrium a few years ago. They had great moves and we were like...hey, let's learn how to do that... I'm not sure how much the ship dance lessons actually do but if they offer the lesson then it stands to reason that somewhere on the ship there will be music for dancing...that's the story I'm sticking to with DH 😊.
  21. Had to stop in just to see what the heck a "Gpod Pozza" was...my first thought was OMG, what new technology do I have to learn now?? .... like the Ipod of yesterday....😁 As for the pizza, haven't found any pizza at sea that blows me away.
  22. We very much enjoyed it! I have since tried to replicate some of the drinks they made with the VC brand but haven't been very successful. For example, the first course was paired with a champagne on ice which they infused with cucumber. I didn't know champagne on ice was a thing until that experience. It was delicious!
