  1. The air upgrades are also discounted.
  2. ACU23 is also valid on the December 19, 2023 sailing of Australia & New Zealand. It's offering cabin discounts and Free Airfare. Christmas and New Year's down under.
  3. It looks like this itinerary sails in April/May and October. October 2025 has yet to be scheduled. I expect to see it posted before year's end.
  4. When we were in Chioggia, the Viking guide told us that we were lucky because they can only dock one ship at a time. If it’s taken, they dock in Fusina. The local staff called it “the ugly place.” They hate going there and prefer Chioggia.
  5. May 2025 is almost sold out. It’s on sale now.
  6. We were just there in June. They have replace the chopping block where Anne Boleyn was beheaded with a crystal pillow Traitor’s Gate The White Tower
  7. Expedition cruising is more akin to scenic cruising than port intensive ocean cruising making me question the importance of pre cruise booking.
  8. Viking is offering the Far Eastern Horizons cruise which stops at seven ports of call in Japan.
  9. We did two cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean in late winter and early spring. While we encountered rain on some days, the temperatures were perfect for excursions (50s - 60s). The guide mentioned how lucky we were on the sunny and cool day on top of the Acropolis, noting that in the summer people don’t last more than a few minutes, or even worse, it is closed.
  10. This thread is about expedition ships which have none of the rooms you mentioned. Expedition ships have (NB) Nordic Balcony, (DN) Deluxe Nordic Balcony, (NP) Nordic Penthouse, (NS) Nordic Junior Suite. (ES) Explorer Suite, and (OS) Owner’s Suite. On Expedition ships, NB and DN staterooms book advanced excursion reservations the same number of days out. DN book earlier than NB for restaurant reservations but that is really no big deal.
  11. Typically Viking does not offer reservations on back to back overnight days. The crew is involved with turning the ship over for arriving and departing passengers, etc. Once you are onboard they will arrange something for those passengers that are sailing both legs. Venice, however has always been an odd situation. Fusina is an industrial port and you cannot wander off the ship unescorted so they need to make arrangements.
  12. It’s not fried. It’s similar to the Cold Stone Creamery’s ice cream, where it chopped and combined with your chosen ingredients on a frozen slab, then scraped and rolled into a dessert cup. There are Octantis travel videos on YouTube that show the process.
  13. You must visit Caffè Florian, one of the oldest continuously operating coffee house in Europe. Opened in 1720, it’s right on Piazza San Marco.
  14. FYI That is called a polarized plug. It’s a safety feature as some appliances, such as hairdryers, require the hot side and the neutral side to be aligned for proper operation.
  15. We saw two dudes in bathrobes at Afternoon Tea. They came in to visit their significant others (who were dressed to the nines). It seemed like a lame attempt to mock and shock everyone.
  16. Anyone try room service or have a copy of the menu?
  17. SUM23 is giving a double past guest discount
  18. The Pool Party was for the Sunday Wild Card game on 1/22/23. Both Saturday and Sunday games were on TV in your stateroom. We met one of our guest lectures on an early tour on Sunday morning and he had been up all night to watch the Giants vs Eagles game.
  19. As far as I know the AV connectors are not exposed on any Viking TVs.
  20. They had an NFL playoff game party on our January cruise on the Sky.
  21. We took the extension in January. Here is my thread of the cruise and extension https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2906353-almost-live-viking-sky-journey-to-antiquities-jan-2023/?do=findComment&comment=64733283
  22. No wonder Orcas are sinking boats.
  23. For Viking Ocean here is a blog about which cabins not to book. The blog also gives other interesting details along with lots of photos. https://viking-cruises-cabin-guide.blogspot.com/p/cabins-to-avioid.html?m=1
  24. Some slightly off topic info for those wondering why Viking is still using Fusina. In April we docked at Chioggia and were told by Viking staff that we were lucky because only one ship can dock in Chioggia at a time. If another ship is scheduled, it docks at Fusina which they call “the ugly place.” It’s an industrial port that requires you to be escorted in and out.
