  1. Just off Allure yesterday. Food was typical....very good to excellent. If we weren't satisfied w/ RC's food, we'd either sail another line, or choose another type of vacation. So far, of the dozen or so places on board to find something to eat, we've yet to be disappointed. (Only been cruising for 40 years or so, so expecting the 'other shoe' to drop at anytime lol).
  2. Sure appreciate your reviews, and glad to hear this one in particular. As RCCL suite cruisers trying YC for the first time, we've been a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews. Thanks again.
  3. Ya...strolled around a couple times in the past 3 or 4 months, and enjoyed seeing the project that only took about 12 months longer than predicted. They did a nice job, commercialized it nicely, and we got it checked off our bucket list.
  4. We don't either. Just hoping for a justified reason to get off the ship in that hole lol.
  5. Give this thread another day or so, and if no responses regarding actual experience of Atlantis in the first 5/6 days of 2024, I'll thread it be removed. I'll post our experience in a week or two. Actual experience posts greatly appreciated. The 'my cousins uncle's friend know this chick who heard....' responses good for filler if ya feel it necessary.
  6. That could be...might speed it up using scan n go. As far as being diamond - not likely. Everyone and their brother is diamond...probably be the longest line.
  7. I'd love to, but hate to wait until after we get back....kinda defeat the purpose.
  8. Thanks. We all heard that as well. Wondering if anyone has been there in 2024 to see if they extended the deal. About the only reason to get off the ship there in our opinion, and could see where cruise ship business at Atlantis would die back down. And yes, choice got $25, prime $50, sig $75, mas $100.
  9. If anyone has been able to utilize free play at Atlantis in the New Year, would appreciate hearing from ya. (Heard the RC choice/prime/etc free play there was to be discontinued at close of 2023). Thanks.
  10. Thanks...had already discovered that. Was just a bit confused in why they choose the email option as the only way to bid (as opposed to bidding either thru the email or plusgrade site like other cruiselines). We're new to MSC. Certainly not impressed w/ their IT stuff, and would be lying if we said we weren't concerned about our upcoming YC experience (particularly after reading reviews). We're holding on to the 'only whiners complain' mantra and hoping it plays true.
  11. After searching around a bit, it appears the only way to bid upgrades w/ MSC is thru an email they send (as opposed to other lines where you can go to the upgrade site/place bid/etc). Is that the case? I certainly won't complain about other lines IT departments after attempting to use MSC's. I didn't think it was possible reaching a level lower than 'useless' lol.
  12. You must be the life of the party. You critique birthday cards people send to you as well?
  13. Hope the lack of a butler isn't due to being first-timers, and was just a lapse, as we'll soon be doing our first. Enjoy.
  14. Sounds exactly like us. Never understand the sheeple that just can't wait to get on board, and rush to get off as soon as the door opens. We hang out in the back of the jet, wait till it dies down, and costs us roughly 5min....time that we'd spend waiting on our bags anyway lol. Glad you're all set to cruise. Have a great time!
  15. As much as we're looking forward to the suite experience on a new cruise line (for us), I will say going in, if there's some 'double secret handshake' that requires being a 'regular' in order to receive an expected return on our investment, we will be 'one and done'....and that goes for any service we pay for with any other business as well.
  16. We're trying our first MSC cruise (YC). Trying to distinguish between whiners and complainers and those w/ legitimate concerns is difficult. We also realize most reviews are from those who have negative things to report, so we'll just give it a try and find out for ourselves. We're pretty low maintenance and are easy to please, so don't think our review will fit in here if we enjoy ourselves lol.
  17. Not a foodie, yet very critical of Italian cuisine...interesting. I have no idea what to expect of our upcoming cruise, particularly regarding food. I realize it's subjective, and we have yet to be disappointed w/ the food on any line, but some of these reviews have me wondering.
  18. Ours is coming up. This will be our first time on MSC, and we are anxious to give the YC a go. (Unlike you, we love CL's on RCCL). Certainly going to be interesting. We enjoy every cruise; hoping this comes close to the 'suite life' on RC.
  19. We're giving MSC a shot in the yacht club...booked it for 1/2 what RCCL gets for a full suite. Be interesting to compare...hoping they're both of roughly the same 'value', allowing us to double up on the bookings. They're be some drawbacks, but we have heard the YC blows away Royal's suite area. We're certainly curious.
  20. We generally take one of two paths...sit and wait for the crowd to thin out, or get out of there prior to the CD's post show address. The latter tends to be our go-to, as we don't need to hear the latest update on events remaining for the evening....if we weren't aware of an event, it's generally nothing we're interest in anyway.
  21. Not even the slightest of issues. As long as he's not barefoot, he's set.
  22. Now that's a clever way to get this topic going again.....nicely played.
