  1. We use Nationwide and bought the add on £40 cruise cover. Used it in 2022 when we were confined to cabin with Covid on QE. I can confirm no increase when I took it out again in 2023!
  2. I also have Tiffany form. My husband says I can spot the turquoise sign from at least half a mile away. He's not wrong. Very much enjoying your blog, it's made me consider a much longer trip once we are dogless!
  3. that's great, thanks so much. A different site to the one I found that didn't have times on. And I now know that Liggetid means Length of Stay in Norwegian!
  4. wow, wish we lived nearer! We are booked on her in June though.
  5. thanks. I've just seen that there is a Cunard trip on the train departing after our train time so we'll be ok timewise.
  6. we are in Flam on the Queen Anne in June and have booked the Flam railway. Tickets are fully refundable and we should be back in Flam by 15.45. The port schedules just show "early evening" departure time - any idea what time that means? Thanks.
  7. we were on QE's Alaska season in 2022. One of the speakers we had was a woman from Manchester who is a whale expert. She was excellent, and was usually in the Garden Lounge late afternoon for a chat. We also had a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, very good. My favourite was a woman called Felicty Aston who took an all-female team of novices to the North Pole. She was so inspiring. Cunard used to give details of speakers well in advance on the website but I don't think that happens now.
  8. we are on our first Oceania cruise in October. it's 16 nights - will there be more than 1 Captain's Cocktail party? I know we won't get invited to repeat cruisers events!
  9. might one alternative be to download the Kindle app on to Lady S's ipad? I know it's bulkier to use but I have the Kindle app on my ipad mini and it works very well. I prefer it to my actal Kindle now.
  10. Azura is already in the Canaries. We were on the repo cruise in October, in an inside cabin and had a great time. Certanly slept well, and had no problems finding plenty of peaceful outside space to relax.
  11. we flew from T2 in October and it was fabulous! We were with Jet2 who were very well organised. It was an early flight and we did baggage drop and through security in under 20 minutes. We had an excellent breakfast in Wagamama. It's the best experience going through Manchester for many years.
  12. I've just done this for a Cunard cuise and I skipped the income, phone number bit. Waiting to see if it gets approved!
  13. I sent off an email to claim my Shareholder OBC for my cruise later this year. I got an email back saying they are trialling a new way of claiming via an app called Stock Perks. I have downloaded it and applied, using the same screenshot proof as I'd done previously. Just waiting to see what happens next! It's not particularly onerous but it's a US-developed app eg they ask for zip code not post code. You can skip bits where they ask for some extra details like income (why??), gender (also why??), etc. anyone else used it? The email doesn't say you have to use it and I expect that if I pushed back there would be the "old" way of doing it still, though it doesn't mention that in the email.
  14. Yes, the market in Cagliari, San Bernadetto I think. It was about a 30-40 minute walk.
  15. I've received the following information from Oceania customer services "Good Morning, Non-alcoholic wines and beers are included in the House Beverage Package. Other inclusions are water, soft drinks, speciality tea and coffee. Virgin Cocktails are not included and would be available at a charge or if you purchase the upgrade to the Prestige Beverage Package." I did think some of the AF cocktails were included (eg AF mojito and pina colada) but not the Lyre's spirits ones .
  16. good to know. Do you know if it is included in the Simply More drinks package selection?
  17. We only drank it in our cabin. You can of course walk around anywhere with a glass but only if you've bought it on the ship.
  18. Really enjoying this thread. Although I don't have children, I'm equally happy on adult only or family friendly cruises - it's generally the adults I have issue with! At 62 I find it very funny how ICF seems (and I paraphrase) to be amazed that anyone over 60 is fit and energetic 🤣. I don't know how old you are ICF but I can assure you that I still feel about 25 and intend to carry on doing so, regardless of my age! Look forward to your next review. We have no P&O trips planned in 2024 just Cunard and Oceania but I'll be checking in regularly.
  19. we were on in October and found an indoor market stall in Sardinia selling plastic 1.5 litre bottles of wine "en vrac" (like mini petrol pumps!). The guy gave us some tasters and it was really good so we bought a bottle to take back on (4.5 euros!), no problem taking it onboard.
  20. I have seen a pdf of a wine menu from Feb 2023 which shows Pierre Zero sparkling, white, red & rose by the bottle. I'm going to contact them to ask about AF wine by the glass! I'm a big fan of Lyre's non-alcoholic spirits so I will be enjoying Happy Hour with those on our Regatta trip in October. I agree that over here we have excellent, and ever-improving alcohol free options.
  21. our experience travelling from Manchester with Jet2 in October mirrors the OPs from Bristol. Got through bag drop and security very quickly (the newly refurbished T2 is fully open now) and the flight was very good. Also echo the OPs comments re The Glass House (those prawns!!) and Epicurean. Both excellent as was Sindhu. We flew out to Malta but back from Tenerife and really liked the shops at Tenerife airport - some great deals on perfume.
  22. thanks for this. We're going on Regatta so it might just be the occasional pop-up class.
  23. My husband is very interested in the Art Class, and I'm interested in the Cooking Class. Do you know if they free or is there a fee? On Cunard there was a nominal fee for art materials.
  24. we tried the Peller Ice Cuvee and the rose on our recent Azura cruise. Very nice, thanks for the recomendation.
  25. or if you have a library card and can access ebooks free of charge.
