The ship will be cleared the day before when you arrive in SJ
I would confirm with Viking once on the ship if you want off at 6am or whatever will they be taking your luggage off or do you need to
Someone posted that they booked the private car tour for next year there was no discount but it was $1300+ out of their excursion credit
Maybe port specific for those tours or they have decided not to offer the private cars now
I guess we will have to wait and see
That is a pretty short port stop
but you could take a taxi to the Cathedral about 30 + mins away & have them stop at the falls on the return
There are tours but it may not get you back to the ship by 1 pm
It all depends on what you are used to
The lower cabins categories are fine for us & the w/c works that all that matters to us
I like to sit outside on the deck weather permitting read or people watch so never an issue staying onboard
we may get off & have a wander in the port if we have been there before just to get some walking in
Enjoy
It is too bad they switched to doing while on the ship
I guess they get less complaints that way
People have better things to do on the last day & I prefer to take my time & go over the review
If they sent a link to do it after the cruise (with a time limit of course)
people could take time & think about the good the bad & improvements

We just take our coffee outside on deck 5 just a short walk & more comfy loungers 😉
The OP sounded like there was NO Barristas in his statement
I have not been on the Nautica or Sirena
Join your roll call maybe some will have private tours to share but if not do some research at the ports & see what really interests you
most you can DIY if you know what you want to see/do
Sadly the famous rocks at Hopewell have collapsed

I'll play
We have done 6 on Oceania Regatta followed by 4 on Marina 3 on Insignia see a pattern
We like the little R ships
We do not need all the bells & whistles of the big floating cities
We just like the itineraries I guess the quiet of the smaller ships
we like small unique ships as well so will take those over the mass market lines when we see one we like
Music charters are a whole other world everyone is there for the same reason
to have fun & see the performers on those itinerary is secondary
Enjoy whatever cruise you chose
How do they define "LUXURY" ?
I find that is more subjective
All inclusive does not mean luxury to me but maybe to others it does
We did a cruise on a LUXURY line the food was sometimes better than the Premium line but for the most part it was not
drinks included but they did not make cocktails only Grasshopper or Pina Colada (bar tenders did not know how to make other kinds)
You had wine beer& mixed drinks then it was OK
put rum in a glass put coke in it they know how to do that
Maybe CLIA could set down some guideline as the the branding of what is Luxury/Premium/Premium+

On some lines if the price drop you can get the new price or an OBC for the difference
Many years ago the line would add the fuel upcharge when the oil prices went way up but have not seen the added fees in a long time
It is still in most lines T & C incase they need to implement it
You do not say what Country you are in in your profile other Countries outside of North America may have other rules on such things
also this to consider

Level 3 now so who knows by March
At least you have time to make changes
You are before final payment just cancel & book a cruise that leaves for Columbia
RCCL Silversea & Explora Journeys have cruises embarking in Cartagena
I do not think HAL has been in the Premium Category for many years
The categories are given by cruise lines & TA's
Fodors rates cruises but I disagree with some of their picks 😉

You are overnighting in San Juan you should be able to disembark early
If your flight is 8:15 you probably need to be there by 6:30am ??
the airport is 8 miles away
If Viking is saying no flights before 8 then they must have some transfers for pax
Once onboard go ask if they provide transfers to the airport & what time they will start?
If you do not plan on enjoying any sights in Toronto sure an airport hotel would work
just be sure they have restaurants in or nearby
I would check ones downtown in the area bounded by
Queen st W or E /King St W or E University Ave / Victoria St
Maybe as far north as Dundas st W
Royal York hotel is a good location
but depends on your Budget
