  1. Which ships? What happened that was anything like the OP has described? We don't either, but our number of Caribbean cruises is way many more due to being relatively cheaper without airfare. There was a time where my husband couldn't fly, hence Florida cruising.
  2. We actually like all the different ship layouts but prefer the Royal class buffet & Piazza, if they could only quiet it down somewhat. It's music is much to loud, but then all the ships are to loud. 🙉
  3. Same here. There are only so many times you can visit a rain forest, see the monkeys or buy more T shirts. 🙉
  4. People would be better off holding the lobster & getting extra shrimp instead. 😉
  5. It wouldn't surprise me to see those shorts on a formal night real soon the way things are progressing. (even without the jacket)
  6. I suppose everyone has their reason for liking an older ship but the aging problems come along with it and you should be prepared to accept them from time to time.
  7. We live in Florida and usually have that option of choosing a newer ship. Why anyone who has that choice would consider an old ship is puzzling. Maybe they just love the older design or the itinerary? Neither of which are important to us since we visit the Caribbean numerous time a year.
  8. See. If they had been reading CC it could have saved them from a horrible cruise.
  9. Well since the CDC is now letting the ships decide for themselves what's appropriate and most people weren't wearing masks when it was suggested, I suspect everything will change back to what it was before Covid began. i.e.- open self service buffet, no mask in show lounge, filled elevators, no masks required when exiting the ship, etc. I can't foresee the restrictions returning to a full lockdown unless the virus gets out of control. I still pity the crew that has to wear masks all day long. Maybe that will change also.
  10. I believe lots of people confuse this terminology when posting. Fortunately, the medallion works perfectly as you say, once on the ships.
  11. We still haven't opened it. Maybe for Thanksgiving.
  12. Just one more reason (among others) to avoid the Caribbean Princess.
  13. Wine will always be allowed at any time (above the 2 free bottles per cabin) although corkage fee may be charged if they find anything above 2 bottles. I'm not familiar with P & O.
  14. They do scan your bags when entering the ship but the collection table is located by the elevators. Most people just walk right on past without pausing. Of course you wouldn't want to advertise the liquor store shopping bag as you walk by. 😉
  15. They gave us a 375 bottle of Bacardi Superior on the Enchanted in place of the small bottles.
  16. In all the years of bringing wine back at any port we've never paid 1 cent in corkage fees. The only people who pay fees are the ones that voluntarily present the wine at the collection table. Now that we sail with the plus package we're always carrying off bottles of wine. 😄
  17. I think people have been giving a slanted impression of a Princess lobster. LOL 😁
  18. It more like they want to eliminate people from refilling the bottles with liquor.
  19. I thought I remembered it on the Island. It's been a long while for sure. Before they messed up the ship with the additional cabins.
  20. All the more incentive to bring your own at every port.
  21. The only ship we had problems with food not being hot was on the Caribbean Princess a few years ago, otherwise it's always been acceptable.
  22. I think we saw it last on the Island many years ago. I hope it's one show they keep around for a long, long time.
  23. It worked for me in the other fields but now I have other problems that I can't solve. It's like a never ending puzzle that make me try every few days thinking I can resolve it. Luckily the medallion app works fine once aboard the ship.
  24. I don't think the buffet is for everyone, especially those that are overly concerned about contracting the virus. We have no problem with it and always found it to be acceptable & clean and are looking forward to have them open it for self service in the near future on all the ships.
  25. I'm just taking a stab at this but are you populating the zip code field with the automatic function on your phone? If so, it may add an additional space character at the end of the 5 digits & the app won't accept any more than 5 digits. Try entering only the 5 digits manually or backspacing it after it populates.
