  1. By downloading I was referring to a new system that allows the cruise ships to download programs directly and not have to wait until they receive them by carrier when they return to the homeport.
  2. It's amassing how these dress code threads degrade to the ridiculous examples as soon as someone doesn't fully want to comply to a strict formal dress code. Princess chooses not to enforce a strict set of rules in their dining rooms. Period. Get over it or move on to another cruise line that does.
  3. I understand. Except for breakfast, we always arrive at the buffet when they first open which eliminates a lot of that problem. It sound like the DR might be a better option for you.
  4. Although they don't block it, they do make it as hard as possible to utilize it.
  5. We're happy to hear about the self service buffet. Hope it stays that way. 😃 Thanks.
  6. I wouldn't be to quick to right off the whole cruise line because of a bad experience with one of their older ships. The newer ships do not have those problems (except for a poor satellite connection depending on the ship location)
  7. We've been plugging in a Roku device into Princess's TV's for years now. On the wall mounted TV's it's not easy since it is very tight, but doable. Follow the YouTube instructions to change the input or see the following.
  8. What'sApp works great for iPhones and Android for texting and calling.
  9. Doesn't that sound like a fun vacation to me. If I forced my husband to dress up on a cruise he'd tell me to go myself and neither of us would cruise ever again.
  10. I was thinking about there being a fire hazard due to charging them in the cabin. ??
  11. No one has even mentioned electric bikes.
  12. I can see by the expression on that poor guys face it was the wife's decision to make him wear a coat & tie. LOL 😆 She's dressed casual and couldn't care one way or the other.
  13. As far back as April the newer selections were very limited and those were only shown on MUTS. They usually repeat them on the cabin TV the next day, but didn't on our cruise. Lots of old stuff that we had already seen so I was glad I brought lot of my own material to watch. I did read something about the ships starting to use a newer system that give them the ability to download programs/movies directly. Maybe they've begun to use it by now, provided they want to spend the money for it?
  14. It always was counted as two. We mostly got our shots from the bar, without ice, ad added it in from our ice bucket later in the cabin.
  15. So your actually saying that the European cruise are just the same as any Princess cruise elsewhere. (which I suspected all along) I believe Princess has finally joined the rest of cruising society by eliminating/downplaying the strict formal atmosphere and thus increasing the number of passengers that love the more casual vacation. As you say, it's time to move on.
  16. That was so easy to fix. Just plug the AC outlet with a couple of hand towels. You were lucky you didn't need more air conditioning. Then it's no so easy to remedy.
  17. We didn't have any problem ordering 2 doubles for my husband & 2 for myself at one time no matter which bar we went to. When one of us hit the 15 drink max, they just charged it to the other persons account.
  18. So from what your saying is that Princess hasn't changed their wording on dress codes at all for Europe ......which is the same as in the Caribbean, Alaska and Mexico. They simply let people decide for themselves what is appropriate for any given night. People wearing shorts is still mentioned as not being acceptable but on our last cruise it was common to see many wearing them in the DR without anything being said. Princess has now taken the position of not wanting to take sides so to attract people on both sides, similar to other cruise lines have done. It wouldn't surprise me to see European cruises following the same unofficial rules as Princess cruises.
  19. Well, I'll have to take you word that the people cruising Europe may be more formal in their appearance since it's been a very long time since we've cruised in that region. My cruises lately have been to Mexico, Caribbean and Alaska, all of which have been on the casual dress side. Have the European cruises on Princess enforced the strict dress code like they used to many years ago on all their cruises or transitioned to giving people the choice to be more relaxed about their style?
  20. I don't know if you've cruised Princess lately but things have changed from that real formal atmosphere to that of a more relaxed vacation type of cruise. The formal dressing is still adhered to by people who choose to do so while the rest of the people just dress nicely without being force to comply to any strict standard. Even shorts on casual evenings are quite common. Times are changing.
  21. Same with me. A moderator posted a solution which included contacting them. Now I just use the Notification box at the top.
  22. I've never seen them. Only cookies & scones. Then again, I haven't been to very many teas. It's much to close to my dinner time. 😄
  23. It's a matter of control, I guess. You'll dress to please me or I'll turn you in to the Maître D' and make comments on the cruise survey.
