  1. We've among those that have been complaining for years that Princess was to strict on formal nights about dress codes especially when the other cruise line had already eased up on their codes. While the women weren't specifically targeted, the men were forced to bring the needless jackets just to eat in the DR and receive the better food they offer. Now that casual dress is acceptable on any night the cruise line fits our style even better. I don't believe the casual dressers are trying to push their agenda any more than prior years. They're just more noticeable then they used to be as more guys are skipping the formal attire.
  2. Perhaps, but since we haven sailed other cruise lines in quite a while we'll be sticking with the newer ships. We've sailed on all the older Princess ships at one time or another & have had problems or disappointments on some of them.
  3. We all have our ideas of what dressing down is. I for one am fine with what the Princess has become and if it means that there are few that stretch it to the extreme, so be it. If Princess has become to casual for those that need the formality, then they really should be looking at other cruise lines that offer what they require. There are a few still left.
  4. I see you've learned your lesson. Stick with the newer ships which can minimize problems like that.
  5. They obviously must understand the risks involved since most other passengers (from what we've seen) aren't that concerned about how strict the protocols are. They offer little protection from catching Covid in our opinion. We're in a similar situation and don't wish to live our lives in isolation.
  6. On the enchanted people were sharing tables but the majority seemed to want a table for 2 as they were always filled. I'm assuming their reply was to indicate the general preference.
  7. Unless Princess changes their style of production shows, like they've been doing, they won't be able to attract the newer generation of cruisers to sail. I've seen a few clips of different production shows on other cruise lines & they're nothing like the older Princess shows, so it's obvious they realize this and have begun to transform to the newer style.
  8. If you use the WhatsApp app and both of you have it, there's no problem. I tested my friend at home during my last cruise and it worked like a charm. I suppose I could have also called using the same app without being charged. With my android phone Zoom also worked with any problems during the day for one of my meetings.
  9. That also means you'll be a little late for seats in the show lounge. It's hard to excuse yourself from the conversations.
  10. The absolutely worst seat of the oblong tables for ten is at the end. It allows only enough room for your own plate and if the other people pull their chair in all the way, you can't even get close to the table. Been there once, never again. 😒
  11. That's sounds most likely. 😅
  12. Before we started cruising with the plus package we always used up our onboard credit in the casino ASAP and let them bill our credit card for the gratuities. Same difference either way.
  13. I wish they would use that location function to find people who are late to meet up for the walk through during a B2B cruise. 😄
  14. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I wouldn't know anything about the concierge suite functions.
  15. In past years, I've typically see a decrease in participating in dressing up on the 2nd formal night. I always attributed it to people watching others not being in formal clothing & following their leads. This was before the Covid shutdown. Since the return, many choose a more relaxed dress code on all formal nights.
  16. This is one of the best improvements of the Royal class ships. Their Platinum and Elite lounge has become disappointing since the return from Covid shutdown. Nothing that couldn't be ordered in the DR. With the drink package many people just bypass the the function completely.
  17. Mostly from older tunes. The new shows are just a bit to loud and flashy for my taste. Most others did enjoy them.
  18. The newer types of modern production shows are just not for me. Most people did enjoy the show but I still prefer the older style shows. Guess I'm just stuck in my traditional ways.
  19. Most of the time they don't give s hoot where you are located all day long. The only time they want to track your previous locations is if there was a major Covid breakout and they wanted to id the people you came in contact with.
  20. That's very true but if your sitting at the pool when you order, without a medallion, they'll never find you.
  21. I've never seen Princess specify a dress code for those places so I guess anything is appropriate within reason.
