    Why so? people fly to Ft Lauderdale to see the Caribbean and have to spend time on the ship also. People enjoy a trip to Hawaii just for the sake of cruising. The OP learned that there was no loss of any Elite benefits. Is that so bad?

    Woops, you're correct, but you still get cheated on a day that you have to pay for and get very little for your money.

    Don't forget on day 7 you're leaving the ship and hardly have a chance to use your drink package.

    $81 US per day !! Holy XXX. You've got to be kidding. Princess needs more customers like yourself.

    I believe the OP was thinking that you couldn't just arrive at the tender location to board when you were ready. Having first to report to another location and stand in line. In my experience the Elite line is only 6 or 8 people at most waiting to go as a group. So nothing really lost.

    Many time at Princess Cays the line is definitely long, also at G. Cayman island. I still think it would be a great perk and something to be aspired to.

    I've said the same thing for years now and most people here on CC disagree with that idea. I suppose if it were to happen, people standing on line to return would get upset seeing people cut in line. The disgruntled passengers would flock to the Capt. circle host desk to complain.

    The most important thing is that Princess (while not advertised) is now allowing people to make their own decisions on how formal they want to be. 😀 Gone are the dress inspections at the DR door with the fear that you won't be admitted because you aren't dressed properly.

    You do realize that you're missing some of the better selections that Princess offers.

    And conversely just drinking 3 or 4 drinks out of the allotted 15 drinks isn't the best deal.

    On our trips it was in addition to the regular formal nights. But those were 10 day cruises.

    That's a shame since some people do put a lot of effort into the egg drop contest.

    Now I have to remember to check it the next time we're on the a Royal class ship. I never noticed any difference in the air flow but then again we shut the door when going on the balcony.

    In my case it just doesn't pay. It's more than I would care to drink no matter how you calculate it. I've decided on a different solution for the future which tailors the price to someone in my category.

    It sounds like Princess is shortchanging themselves. Time for an increase I see.

    It does in my case as I don't drink that much coffee and very little soda and hardly use the terrible wi-fi. I bring lots of my own movies, couldn't care much about the news an only get spam as email. So basically the cost of the package is to pay for alcohol and gratuities. That's a mighty expensive price to pay for only 4 drinks plus gratuities.

    I see you're another convert to the newer ships also. 😄 We changed and never looked back.

    Unless things have changed on the CB since we last sailed on it, I've never seen it. It would be a great savings if they did have it. We've been sailing on the newer Royal class ships for so long now and it's a pleasure no to have to deal with the problem as each cabin has it's own AC unit.

    Unless the wine check in table is set up which most time is not if you arrive early.
