It’s a cash grab for sure. Of course there should be mark up but that is straight up price gouging.

I would say it’s less crowded than the mdr but not by much. Just like the dining room there may be a wait.

I agree. Although it’s not the same I get a cabana on the ship. The stewards do very, very little for me. About the only thing is putting water in the ice bucket and maybe get me some apples from time to time. There are people that get them to do everything for them. They still get a pretty healthy tip from me even though they acknowledge they do very little for me.

The way this is worded sounds a bit better than it is. I know they used to have an expanded breakfast room service menu. I don’t think that is true anymore but I could be wrong. I rarely have room service unless I’m doing an early excursion. There is no extra breakfast menu items. You can get a mimosa for no charge. There is one extra entree at night. If I remember correctly there was at least one poster that kept repeating about the breakfast in the pinnacle. I just don’t want people to be disappointed. To be honest I have had breakfast in both places and I prefer club orange. Also listed as an item on club orange is some special “event”. I’ve had club orange on the koningsdam for a total of 4 weeks. There has not been a special event. Hal’s strong suit is not updating literature.

While I’d like the pinnacle this class is acceptable too. Even better the eurodam or nieuw Amsterdam, which I know are not vista ships.

There is no breakfast in the pinnacle grill unless you are in a Neptune or pinnacle suite. For some reason this gets mentioned a bit unless this is a very recent addition.

I just don’t like the old ships after being on the pinnacle class. I like the amenities and the restaurants on the pinnacle ships. I enjoy my balcony a lot and it’s just way too expensive on the smaller ships.

I might have considered that one even though it’s on the zaandam but the date doesn’t work. It would be nice if they had more than one date because it that itinerary seems popular.

Since fall is a couple days away wouldn’t it make since to call it this fall? I was hoping something would be on the website. It’s very odd to me that the wouldn’t have anything for a year from now.

I see Alaska cruises for 2023 then a 35 day cruise in Feb 2024. Where exactly are you seeing cruises next fall which would be 2023 not 2022?

It is set to do longer cruises which makes no sense to me, at least for the spring. It makes more sense to do those on the zaandam. I have no desire to fly to Florida to do cruises, nor am I flying overseas. It much easier to fly to San Diego. I see no viable option for me in the spring due to deadlines and a general lack of holiday time I have now. I hope options improve for fall. I have no interest in Alaska when it’s cold where I live for what seems 10 months of the year.

At night 90 percent of the food is cooked in the mdr not in club orange. In the morning everything is cooked in club orange. Yes I’ve had to wait some mornings to get into club orange but 90 percent of the time the food has been hot. When I’ve been in the mdr it’s been hot maybe 10 percent of the time. I’ve had to wait to get into the mdr for long periods. I remember it being well over an hour a few times. I do open. I’ve never waited an hour to get into club orange. As far as the priority line at the front desk that has been a big bust. I’ve stood there while they took 15 or 20 people before I asked if they could help me.

Yes, I have too. I’m not saying you can’t now. When someone says don’t be silly and end of discussion I take an issue with that. The discussion will end naturally or when locked. I don’t understand the whole I say so, so this is all that will be said. Doesn’t really work like that. I’ve worried too about bringing plastic bottles with meds. These are the things that keep me up at night even though some people deem them as silly.

I feel club orange doesn’t hold a lot of value other than on the pinnacle ships. That said you can end up with a decent upgrade out of it. You will also have one extra entree to choose from nightly.

In my mind that is a better way to go. Letting people know if the don’t eat it they will be charged in you must cheapen the experience by charging extra. It’s not worth it to me to up the overall price. The pinnacle in the worst pay extra restaurant on board to me.

Exactly. Me too. I don’t understand the selective information some seem to have. Maybe people are using a flip phone 😛😉.

I agree. If they say I don’t know people will probably not let it go so that’s a good way out. I personally feel everyone is not entitled to know every tiny detail, but that’s me. Sometimes I’d like to know something but it’s none of my business (not speaking about this issue but more personal questions people ask on threads) so I don’t ask.

Yes, the second entree was a test before the shutdown. It was received very negatively. Second appetizers are being charged for in the pinnacle now on the westerdam. Did you go to the pinnacle? There was a very, very long thread about it. I’m not sure why you think I’m making this up. I know some think if it doesn’t happen to them it hasn’t happened. It’s very odd.

It makes no sense but neither does charging for second entrees or second appetizer. Maybe they get drunk at the management table and see who comes come up with the dumbest idea. They must be getting drunk a lot lately.

Being a working person it’s been rare when any reason for any decision is given. I’ve found people being caught in lies as well when I knew the reason. I highly doubt you’d actually hear the real reason, and for that matter does it make a difference?

You mean metal bottles? That’s the only resealable ones I saw and they were in short supply. They went to cans with a pop type top. Once you open it you are committed. No way to reseal it.
