  1. I'm not sure if this was made clear or not, but you are not taking a cash advance on your card. You are "charging" to your room which is in turn billed to your NCL card. They charge you 3% for the convenience, but it goes on your folio as a charge and then you pay your total folio with your NCL card to earn the 3X points.
  2. I do the same. I was told there is a 5K limit per day for card charges in the casino.
  3. Sorry. I hit enter before I could explain further. I called CAS and it is indeed as you suspected; the basic package has to be purchased and the "upgrade to premium" is complimentary for Ruby/Elite. That is what led me back to this thread. Also another change noted - the "internet package" is now one device unlimited for both Ruby/Elite. So, my original question stands - when did they change the drink package discounts based on latitude level?
  4. Did I miss something? When did the drink package discounts changetbased on latitude level???
  5. I sail April 22nd - After my first CAS cruise I began rejecting the drink package. I am Ruby so we will see about the OBC and "Upgrade to Premium Plus" Drink package. Perhaps it will only apply to cruises booked AFTER April 1??? Curious minds want to know.
  6. Wow - that was deep, and yet refreshingly appropriate. Bravo!
  7. Hey Now! I'm on the Joy the first two weeks of September - would love to party with a fellow Ohioan 😁
  8. The Art Auction Manager was the "officer" designated for my dinner on the Sun. There were only two others and it was clear they were bored to tears - I on the other hand had a wonderful time chatting with him about his travels and some of the art/Artists he had been privileged to see/meet in person. I wouldn't consider myself a collector, but let's just say I was able to keep up with the conversation. To each their own.
  9. LOL - yes, I guess we could say Spoke was succint. Enjoy the triple points!
  10. I am going to give this a whirl on my upcoming cruise. This could be helpful on cruises when you have been to the ports multiple times.
  11. I am an early riser and I typically like to explore from 3a -5a, maybe I miss the late night menu but in O'Sheehan's, it's typically a large cofee urn? and finger sandwiches (pb&j/some rando sort of meat slathered in mayo) on a tray. The staff is usually deeply involved in cleaning. Suggestion: Do not ingest these items.
  12. My last sailing on Epic was December 2022. Aft balcony on 9. No soot and I loved it.
  13. I had Brazil on my radar, but after the initial visa initiative and the uncertainty surrounding it, I kind of moved Brazil to the back burner. What is the latest on the visa requirement and do you need a yellow fever vaccination?
  14. Oh, I like that - very good idea. An NCL/never again sticky. How do we make this happen?
  15. Just to be clear - you have never cruised alone or you have never cruised in a solo cabin?
  16. You seem to enjoy researching the minutiae for your trip - as a fellow research addict, I will second the recommendation for "The Path Between the Seas." It is quite lengthy, but I agree it will give you a much better appreciation for the Canal. I chose the 20-day on the Sun - MIA to SEA. It remains one of my favorite cruises. Enjoy the planning and your trip!
  17. I never really thought about what the actual acronym stood for so I had to look it up - but if somebody had just randomly asked me on the street I'd probably say "Transportation Security Agency" which is just as incorrect. Thanks for making my brain jiggle...
  18. I typically book 12-18 months in advance with no issues. Also, depending upon your status level you may be eligible to have up to 5 CAS bookings. With you being so close to elite I would imagine the world could/would be your oyster! 🤞
  19. I thought it was just me - thinking about 6,000 people on a ship freaks me out!
  20. This sounds so much like my first experience with CAS - finding out I had won a free cruise, must be taken by 12/31, 10-days, no Hawaii. The only way I could make that cruise work was to add it as a B2B on the Getaway with my already booked cruise to Bermuda. As it turns out alot of things are dependent on whatever witchcraft they use to form the offers. No Hawaii? Because I was told that, I booked a cruise on the Spirit through my regular PCC, only to find out they can comp the Spirit because of the casino. A savings of 5K. 10-days? Eh, not really - you want to do a 20-day Panama Canal - no problem. So now I only ask what my offers are as a starting point. Agreed it is maddening calling CAS - but I cannot lie, it is worth it. Especially since I primarily travel solo; not having to worry about timing the single supplement and all that entails. It's a blessing so I deal with the mental pain and have multiple options in front of me ready to go when I call. Enjoy your cruise!
  21. OMG - the 5th grade Bee! Is it too off topic to discussed missed words? And the trauma it can cause?
  22. 30K is per cabin. The amount of occupants is not a factor.
  23. I loooove pancakes - they are like a drug for me personally. Last weekend - got the craving, had to have them. Cracker Barrel was my dealer of choice - 3 with the perfectly crispy edges that I love so much. $8.99 I am so happy I was able to restrain myself and not order 1 to go. 😁
  24. I have been thinking of giving Pr1ma a try now that's it's not the latest and greatest thing and I very much appreciate your review. I am so glad you noted your Latitude status as Diamond and that you were in the Haven. These two details can have a substantial affect on how you experience the exact same issue as another cruiser without the status/butler to assist resolution on issues that may crop op. I really appreciate being provided "the eyes"/perspective of the reviewer. Nicely done!
