  1. Unfortunately I doubt MSC was able to book new passengers to replace you. I would be surprised if they offer you another sailing. Their website and booking processes are pretty explicit that passengers should purchase insurance to cover events like this.
  2. Unless you feel MSC was negligent in some way you should file a claim with your trip insurance.
  3. The specific terms are dependent upon which country's MSC site you, or your travel agent, booked with. But in general you can replace one of the two primary people on a booking, replacing two is considered a cancellation.
  4. MSC put a $250 charge on my registered credit card at embarkation, not unusual. Final night they charged the final bill amount. I didn't see the release of the initial hold until after disembark. No shortage of people arguing at customer service.
  5. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/manage-booking/before-you-go/travel-documents-visas The sailing region boxes at the top and middle of the page are good for non-US travelers, the FAQ section at the bottom of the page has a section "IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USA CITIZENS, U.S. RESIDENTS AND CANADIAN CITIZENS" that covers those with resident visa or naturalization certificate.
  6. Getting the upgrade email is pretty common if you booked directly or used a TA that participates. There's also a check box on your MSC website profile that agrees to receive offers and promotions that likely helps. Upgrade offers don't have any correlation to shown cabin availability.
  7. It looks like the November 12th seven night sailing has been removed, and is likely full based on the two cabins available for the 13 night. If the upgrade link from your original email offer won't work then they probably have already settled that process as well.
  8. Even poorly selling itineraries are going to be close to full one way or another. MSC will make adjustments to lead price, promotions, flash sales, solo rate, etc... to get bookings and put the ship near full. It's only the really odd repositioning cruises requiring difficult flights that might sail with a significant number of empty cabins. A February Seascape Eastern Caribbean will be close to full double occupancy by sail date.
  9. Perhaps you can now understand why MSC has so little interest in spending lots of time trying to work all this out prior to embarkation. Enjoy your upgrade to My Choice anytime dining.
  10. Likely a post I made on a Meraviglia thread, 16001 and 16002 are under the YC dining room. It's a carpeted seating area rather than a waiter station with hard floor like on Seaside class. Most reviewers do not notice.
  11. Euribia is a fairly new ship and sailing in Europe so will have fewer mentions here on Cruise Critic. You can find several search results regarding Meraviglia which has a very similar layout regarding these cabins. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/search/?q=16001 16002&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=49
  12. The Voyagers Club rule is the guest must be in the same cabin. The restaurant manager has the discretion to approve such a request, or not.
  13. ESTA is not for US citizens. The FAQ section of the MSC travel documents section is more useful. There are a few countries that MSC sails round trip to from the US that require a passport so more information would be needed regarding your sailing.
  14. Booking on board gets up to $200 OBC for Yacht Club, less for lower cabins. You also get slightly better terms for any changes that you might have to make. Prices are the same as what is currently available to anyone else. Gold Voyagers doesn't get you any additional discount percentage over the basic Voyagers Club percentages off the cruise fare, there's just $50/pp OBC if you book far enough out.

    YC sales?

If you have to be in YC on a newer ship then booking as soon as the itinerary is released is when you will see the lowest prices. As sail date approaches the YC prices increase regardless of how cabins are selling. YC cabins on older ships with pitiful or short itineraries are not selling, MSC tries but can't hide the fact. But if you're observant and book smart you can greatly increase your chances of a very cheap upgrade to YC.
  16. Numerous reports of both complimentary and bid upgrades, many to cabins above the bid level. Unfortunately it's becoming obvious that MSC is not selling a large number of their (non-interior) YC cabins at the asking prices.
  17. Minimum age for casino is 21 on US sailings and 18 on all others.
  18. My above post should have stated 6 months, not 60 days....
  19. Here's the recent US sailing bar menu. I beleive Easy also gets you $6 off other, more expensive drinks. QR_K_BAR-LIST-GENERIC_OTHER_DAYX_EN_1695751424.pdf
  20. Easy package includes about 20 basic alcoholic cocktails, pretty sure L.I. iced tea was on it. There's a picture of the Easy menu floating around here... someone will probably post it.
  21. Someone recently posted an email from MSC/PlusGrade stating pre-cruise purchases of drinks, spa and internet packages are considered when determining bid amounts to cabins where they are included. But cabin category, inside/OV/balcony/suite, seems to mainly drive the minimum amounts more than experience level. One odd case where this seems to apply is the typical minimum bid amount from YC inside to YC deluxe, usually higher than from a regular balcony to YC deluxe. I do agree that in the case of the same cabin types with the same amenities only the bid amount matters, initial cost of the cabin does not matter.
  22. MSC US has been working on the Travel Documents pages, they are back up. It's best to scroll down to the tab section at the bottom rather than use the regional sailing links at the top, those PDF's are the generic ones they use on multiple county's sites and seem oriented to non US citizens. The lower down tab labelled "IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USA CITIZENS, U.S. RESIDENTS AND CANADIAN CITIZENS" has the relevant information - see attached file. The MSC use of the word "preferred" is typical MSC poor wording. I believe rather than meaning 60 days remaining is preferred (and less is okay) they mean a passport with at least 60 days is preferred over the BC or passport card. If I had less than 60 days on my passport on OP's cruise I'd be sure to bring my BC and ID as a backup. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/manage-booking/before-you-go/travel-documents-visas US Documents.pdf
  23. Have you noticed any activities by the Jazz group on board?
  24. Certain countries do require visitors to have the six months validity, I don't believe Mexico nor Bahamas, on the OP's cruise, have that requirement. Canada, Cayman Islands and Curacao are ones that could screw you up on a US East coast departure. MSC does have the ability to make additional requirements of their own. I'd renew.
