  1. On sailings from the US MSC has adapted and it's easier to get a glass of water from the restaurants and bars, you might get an unhappy look if the bar is very busy though. On non-US sailings you are far less likely to get a glass of water at either location, just at the buffet. Luckily MSC now includes a bottled water and coffee package, during meals, for all North American and UK bookings.
  2. I agree, there is no way to provide the required documentation through the listed MSC general phone number used for reporting the situation. Someone who answers the phone call must then provide a means for sending in the required proof of illness.
  3. Did you notify MSC within 24 hours of getting the positive test results? Or days later? What I mean is if you got the test results four days before sailing and waited more than 24 hours to notify MSC it violates the Terms.

    Curious

Cabins are likely locked for the upgrade process at this point, at least higher level suites. ETA: Try going into your MSC online account profile and make sure you check to receive promotional emails from MSC, and hope for a last minute upgrade offer.

    Curious

MSC is constantly fiddling with prices and shown inventory, especially as sail date nears. Call in and see if a phone agent can spot some open cabins or check back in a day.
  6. It might be possible if you're before final payment, unfortunately MSC varies wildly in how possible they make it - and how badly the booking can get messed up. Sometimes it's just easier to cancel and rebook.
  7. The Terms, as you quoted, specifically state you don't need to show up at boarding. You only need to notify MSC at the provided phone number between five days and noon before embarkation day, providing the test documents. Did you notify them within 24 hours of getting the positive test?
  8. If word gets out about MSC not honoring their own Covid cancellation policy it's possibly going to cause sick people to not notify them and just sail anyway.
  9. It's more likely MSC would see an official review on this site, or through their post cruise survey if you get that email questionnaire.
  10. Are the port fees and taxes higher than what is stated on your original booking contract or did MSC lower the charges later on for subsequent bookings? I've seen many, many sailings where MSC lowers these taxes as the sail date approaches.
  11. To return to your topic I can describe my deck five OV sailing on Seaside. I didn't notice much difference motion wise, comparable to deck nine through eleven cabins I've been in. But definitely less motion than the higher deck cabins. I'm not sure if it is a Seaside class thing based on engine location but we were midship and noticed a definite constant loud droning of engine noise. We were about five cabins forward of the atrium but didn't get any noise from there, also were below the shops so no noise from above. Met lots of officers in the deck five hallway. Close the curtain at night because you might wake to port workers right outside the window in the morning. Since you mentioned deck five I know this doesn't apply but for others I'll include advice not to book a Bella OV (in hopes of a complimentary balcony) on Meraviglia due to the possibility of getting assigned one of the tiny junior or obstructed OV cabins.
  12. I've been watching that sailing, the current Drinks & WiFi price is significantly lower than what it has been. First image was the Flash Sale a few weeks ago and second is the price it had been for months. Currently they are back to the lower price. Hard to say if it will get any better, but there's lots of unsold cabins.
  13. Which sailing are you looking at?
  14. The current Flash Sale doesn't, it's just balcony for OV. But a few weeks ago MSC, for the first time that I've seen, did the Flash sales on the Drinks &WiFi prices. After that the inclusive prices went back up and were still up when the current Flash sale started, but this week on several Meraviglia sailings the inclusive price is now back down to the same lower prices. OBC has dropped $50 though. ETA: I was looking today and noticed MSC dropped several of the base Cruise Only fares on these Flash Sale sailings. If you click on the Flash Sale links you will not see the lowered inside rates.
  15. No. Two Diamond in the same cabin cannot take each other as a guest. It would be one meal for two people unless you have other non-Diamond guests in the same cabin. In that case each Diamond can bring a non-Diamond cabin mate. voyagers_club_terms_and_conditions_eng_060123 (1).pdf
  16. I think there's less of a chance of getting a complimentary upgrade if you book a specific cabin under Fantastica vs. a guarantee cabin under Bella. I don't believe it makes any difference in getting an offer from the Plusgrade bidding system. However, if you book a Bella guarantee inside you usually will not get a Plusgrade offer until you are assigned a cabin. If you happen to be assigned to a balcony the bidding offer you get is for higher level suites and levels are set lower, as if you had paid the balcony price rather than the inside.
  17. It looks like the only category BP obstructed view balconies that aren't directly above lifeboats are 8232 and 8233. The attached technical/deck plans can be used to compare what is above and below any cabins. B2B_TA_2022-MR-TechGuide.pdf
  18. Aurea also has a designated dining room, or portion of a MDR, without a set table or tablemates. The main difference is the allowance of choosing any time during the operating hours.
  19. The CC article doesn't make it clear that you are assigned to one specific MDR, and to a specific table and time unless you booked Aurea or Yacht Club experience. You cannot choose from any of the four MDR's.
  20. Those are individual short cruises that MSC also sells as back to back sailings but one booking. Each time in Port Canaveral you must go through an immigration check and it is looked as a separate sailing. MSC ships frequently overnight at their private island.
  21. The MSC Voyagers Club terms do not limit the Diamond specialty dining perk to any cruise length, specifically mentioned are the dance class, chocolate gift and welcome back cocktail limited to four night or more. Unfortunately there have been a few reports of no Voyagers Club gatherings with the free drink on both three and four night US sailings. I've seen one recent report of a three night US sailing denying the Diamond meal. voyagers_club_terms_and_conditions_eng_060123.pdf
  22. I've always been held to the prices that were in effect at the time of the original booking.
  23. All you need know in order to use the above link is the ship and sailing date you're interested in. Put in that information and it will generate a list of all excursions for that sailing. No booking is necessary.
  24. You can use the search tool at the bottom of this linked page to find your sailing and get a PDF list of your sailing's excursions. Note the second field "Port" is your embarkation port, not the port you're searching for excursions. The generated list covers all ports on the sailing. https://www.mscbook.com/shop/TAPortalExternalView?storeId=10254&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&taportalIframeKey=MENU_EXCURSIONS
